- Today's video is one of Rotorua's iconic mountain bike trails- Billy T
This is a grade 4 trail which is mostly downhill.
This video is part of my trail forks series acting as a guide to what to expect on some of our local trails.
I am riding my KTM Prowler E-bike.
Billy T was built in 2006 by James (Dodzy) Dodds, Rob Metz, Jeff Carter and RMTBC
Naaaaaaaw Dodzy 💔
Not quite as old as I thought. Many happy memories on the track though.
My comment vanished 🤷🏼♂️
@@ToddNZMTB not sure what happened to your comment. Maybe RUclips thought it was offensive? Did you call me a fat bastard?😁
@@bestdayevermtb2 you know I did 😆 ha ha
Another great video Lance. I haven’t seen you out there for a while. I’m too scared to do Billy T yet but it’s hubbys favourite trail. I love that you showed the different line choices. So nice out there in our forest now the weather is getting nicer. Still blimmen cold though. Cool ride Lance.
Thanks Shelley. Haven't been in Rotorua much this year. Hope that changes soon but still unwell post covid . Actually have not filmed anything for three weeks now.
Where is the ghosting Ben Cathro?😊
The drop on the high side of that berm at 7:30 looks like a nice feature 😎
Yes need to try that.
Fantastic video and keep up the humour. What grade 5s in Rotorua would you suggest for a grade 5 virgin? Or perhaps ones to avoid for now.
Great trail, always fun. Lance, did you do Hot X Buns run, would be interested to see the line options on the end feature.
I actually did. Video coming soon.
Fantastic video Lance really enjoyed watching it. I did realise they change the end bit . Last time I did was like the other video you played. I guess they called it after Billy T James when he passed away. All ways looking forward to watching your next video mate
I liked the old drop and jump.
Sick video lance
Another good Saturday video
Was supposed to be a midweek video but haven't filmed anything recently.
love the video!
Hi Lance, great videos, fun to watch. :) Got a question love to get your help though, as thinking of getting an action camera for myself. This particular video of yours seems to be a lot clearer with higher quality images than many others of your videos. Do you mind me asking which camera did you use, and was it the same camera for all your recent videos? If so, what made the image quality of this one so much better?
Firstly, thanks for saying the image looks good as I have had many people complain about image quality over the years and I actually get very frustrated by this when you have put lots of effort in. I think I used the gopro8 for this video as it is only HD. I have since gone to the gopro 11 and am filming in 4k. This may seem confusing as both will film in 4k but I had to buy a lap top capable of editing in 4k before I could start filming in 4k.
Here is the big one when it comes to image quality on youtube. RUclips downgrades the image quality. I found my videos looked great on my computer but when uploaded didn't look anywhere near as good. Try to film in 4k, edit in 4k and make the video in a high resolution. Then when youtube reduces the quality, the effect is not as bad. Good luck.
@@bestdayevermtb2 Thanks Lance, you're amazing. :) Although there is nothing big nor fancy about your videos, but they're somehow addictive, I think it's your fun, easy going and humorous personality shining through, and great riding.
Re the video, hope this won't sound disappointing, but this video of yours seem to be of particular level of clarity compared to many others of yours, even quite a few recent ones... wonder if it's a camera setting or just wonderful natural lighting worked magic? As you mentioned this might be an older version of goPro compared to your recent ones? Though I had no issues with your video quality anyway, after all it's vlog not epic movies. :D I wouldn't have noticed much if I haven't been planning to buy an action camera myself. But ever since thinking of buying my own, I suddenly started to pay closer attention to image quality, and noticed things I wouldn't have cared before.
Anyway, love your videos, great work and great fun. Thanks!
Where the new 'drop' is, if you look at the hard left line (left of the berm) there's another drop you can do off the high-line. Looks like fun. The old original drop was more fun than this reworked roller, for sure. Felt like more of an achievement.
I noticed that when I looked back at the footage. Will try it next time.
Was just going to comment on that. Maybe it was too scary for Lance, or he needs a sight test 🤷♂️
Nice video Lance , I did see some dads army members at the end there 😊
And the old drop an gap that was cool 😎
Hopefully you’re feeling better now ! You’ve gotta be in shape for the “how good” undie run 🎉
Tried to come to 440 on Saturday but got as far as Manurewa and felt unwell so turned around.
Oh no good at all Lance , we shall do it again when you’re feeling better
Lance, the “ask for a lens wipe” line, floors me every time. Another very enjoyable and informative video. 👍👍
The problem with the full face is I often don't hear it.😁
