If you happen to get LOTS of zucchini in your garden, it can be frozen and then used for bread in the middle of winter too ! My Mom would shred and freeze her zucchini with 2 cups,as needed for her zucchini bread recipe, and be able to just thaw and use for Z. bread whatever the time of year! Love your teas with your daughters !!

Yes, I do that with cooked pumpkin, too. It's wonderful to have on hand, and I prefer baking in colder weather anyway.

We just started remodeling our kitchen, but I am soooo looking forward to having a tea party at home when we're done in our beautiful kitchen. My favorite part is that you've made it so special for your family, showing them that they are worth the effort and taking the time to just enjoy it with them. It'll be cooler weather by the time I can do it, but you've really inspired me to make it a regular event. I bought a gorgeous dinner and tea set for 8 that I got to use for a week before I had to put it away in storage, it's a gorgeous white and pink rose pattern and it cost $39 total from a thrift store. Can't wait to use it again.

What a charming way to tell your daughters how worthwhile THEY are! You have helped this 71 year old so much so here is a Tip: sift the dry ingredients for z bread onto parchment, so it’s easy to slip into wet ingredients, then save parchment to line a baking tray in the future. Just fold in quarters & store with other parchment. Loved this, Jennifer.

I loved this. Watching as I wind down for bed at 3am after just getting home from work and sipping on hot chocolate and eating marmalade toast. This is just what I needed to calm down so I can sleep. Love the conducting at the end.

We used to have regular "tea" quite often when the kids were home. Now I don't so much, but now and then I have the grandkids come over. They love tea parties -- even if it is lemonade instead of tea.

I love how you have your children in the kitchen with you! I have such fond memories of cooking and baking with my mom as a child. When she made pies, she always had little tart tins so I could make my own mini pies for my dolls and stuffed animals. Such a great way to create beautiful memories :-)
This was an absolutely what I needed. I hate to say but I've been utterly wrapped up in current events and this was the reprieve my soul needed! There is beauty to be found everywhere in life if you focus on the good and not the bad. God has blessed us so immeasurably.

What a special thing to do; I loved seeing your children helping you in the kitchen, making the food and sharing that experience with you. I love when I see that interaction between a parent and child/children. (sadly I never had that with my parents) Your food looked wonderful. I make a strawberry cake like yours. I do one thing different. I make my own jam and jellies. When I make a cake like that I put a bit of strawberry jam on the cut cake before the whipped cream. Not a lot; just melt about 1/2 a cup in the microwave. When you split the cake put the jam on the cut side. It keeps the cake very moist. (we are just a small family now, my children are grown, but I share a lot of things with my grandchildren) We have a lot of left overs.

I was born into a larger family than my husband. When my mother cut slices of cake, they were slender. When hubby's aunt cut slices, they were huge.
I was drinking a smoothie I made while watching you and your beautiful children prepare all of the food for tea and so wished that I could partake. It looked so elegant and beautiful. Life well lived on a summer afternoon. Thanks for letting us be a part of it from afar.

S TG I have 1 daughter and 3 sons, and my boys love afternoon tea every bit as much as my daughter does💕 It’s such a delightful way to celebrate an ordinary afternoon!
Ikr? Mine is still a tad too young to get it, but there's are really cute book (Princess Tea, I think) that gives instructions on differently-themed tea parties (Chinese, Indian, etc.).
I really want to do that, possibly as a birthday tradition.

You always make everything so beautiful for your beloved children (who have gotten so very big, btw!), as well as effortless. In one of your past videos (I think it was from the Homemaker series), you had posed the question as to how you want your children to remember you. What loving, joyful memories they will have of their caring and selfless mother, who always made everything so very special and memorable - and who took such care to include them in the making of such a delicious menu :) Personally, when I think of my beloved mother-in-law, rest her soul, so many of my memories center around things like this - a day spent in her company with so many goodies that she so lovingly and selflessly prepared.
