Lovely. I had a Picanto EX (R125 000 brand new) up to 130 000km, but now have a Haval H1. If you want a new vehicle, have a look at the Suzuki Baleno GL (cruise control, bluetooth, reverse radar ...) for R230 000.
Cars used to be so affordable , how the times have changed , I reviewed the Baleno 2 months ago and I have to say for its price the Baleno is great value for money.
Does it come with a sunroof
this picanto is beyond great actually, I'd like to know how it's like to drive this. but then swift is still my go to when it comes to such "vehicles" 👊
You should book a test drive at a Kia near you , but from my own experience the Picanto drives very well.

Not going to lie, the X-line is a looker BUT the price? Ah ah! I feel like Picanto’s and Grand 10’s should be around R3900- R4500 p.m.
True Akhona, the Picanto and Grand i10 aren’t the affordable budget cars they used to be that’s I consider the X-Line to be a premium car with a premium price tag.
Love this Kia. Very easy to park for us new drivers. Not complicated at all.
It’s one of the best small cars on the market.
@@mrhowmuch for me it's a safe car for a woman to drive at a reasonable price. Not everyone can afford an expensive car. As a mother you need a car that is simple to understand, a car that doesn't feel too long or too high. Dropping kids in the morning on a busy traffic can be daunting. Kids forget things, u need to make a quick u- turn or park quick . That can be frustrating with all the bells yelling at you. Sometimes you ask yourself if you can be able to teach your 16 year old how to drive now and then. The pedals are very light. After 40 years as a woman the knees are no longer strong enough for hard pedals. I wish these manufacturers would come from that approach when designing cars.
Recently got my license and am looking into buying a car, this looks pretty good to me.
Ola mjita 👍👍 I will definitely go for the Suzuki Swift GLX mainly for the added practicality, yes I think the Picanto looks cool and the sunroof is the cherry on top but functionality is more important than cosmetics.
Nearly all the comments on this post have referenced Suzuki , it just goes to show that quality products at affordable prices will always win the hearts of the people.
The picanto is nice but not practical for my day to day life, Suzuki Swift would be a lot better.

The Suzuki Baleno is a true bargain. They nearly got everything right with it.
Suzuki has really done well in terms of pricing and their strategy has worked because there’s a Suzuki on every street you turn to these days.

Great car though. My sister used to have the previous generation. Although, I'd go for a low mileage used Rio.
A low mileage Rio would be an excellent choice 👌🏾 , a much bigger car but with the comfort of still being within the Warranty and Service Plan.

Honestly Kia is doing the most lately. The new Sportage still has me shook. Though I'd take the Swift in this case only cause I like how it looks better than I like the Kia's looks. That said this Kia Picanto is an exceptional car for its price.
Let me be honest. I'd choose to struggle and take that C Class😭

To be honest I think I would take my chances with a high mileage German car aswell just for the size and engine performance , but for peace of mind motoring the Picanto would be the one to go for.
What's a service plan and maintenance plan and warranty?
It's a nice looking car but even as a single driver who does not carry passengers, it's too small. I am currently looking at a Rio or mark 5 VW Polo, and think it will be the Polo because it is roughly the size of the mark one Skoda Fabia that I drive now.
Hi. Great review! May I please ask if you test drove the automatic? I wanted to trade my manual picanto in cause it’s not practical with JHB traffic. But with the 4 speed and considering it’s engine is small, I am a bit skeptic on trading. How does it drive? Especially on the highway ( If you did test drive it)
Love it love it, as tall as I am it would work better as I hate having many passengers
If it weren't for the 4 speed auto, I'd definitely consider it but at that point I may as well play loud bee noises on the radio to compete with the noise of the engine trying to switch to imaginary 5th gear 😂 Definitely just get the manual and live with changing gears. But for me I'd prefer the bigger car and get the Swift GLX
I completely understand, entry level automatics aren’t the best , I’d like to take this one on test drive to see how it is , but I’ve had experience with the Suzuki AMT when I hired a Dzire back in 2019 when I was in Cape Town , it would roll back on steep hills , so I want to drive the current Swift GLX to find out if the AMT has improved since then.

I test drove the picanto x line amt and the noise was annoying for me and it just sounded like the engine was ready to give in, especially on the highway.
With this price I can get a nice high milage Polo 9n3 GTi and be left with a change to get myself a good 1995 high mileage C class and still be left with some change
For the price of the X-Line there are honestly so many options , whether its brand new cars like the Baleno or used cars like the Polo Gti you mentioned the choices are plenty.

It's nice, but it's too small. And the Rio has a lot of plastic finishes, not as much as its cousin the i20 but still the built in quality isn't good, for me. At that price, a low mileage Suzuki Baleno GLX would be value for money. I don't know why anyone would buy this car, unless you're a new driver. 266k? Ngeke.

The Baleno is great value for money , I was very impressed when I reviewed it two months ago , the spec and size really make it a bargain.
To be honest these car manufacturers are gambling with our lives and they get away with it
