    When we started going to festivals we went as cheap as possible - year on year we kind of 'upgrade' our equipment, its been an affordable climb to reasonable comfort!

    Good tips.
    Would suggest, if you're on a budget then you can save a bit of money on the sleeping bag and trolley by bringing your own bedding and carrying everything by hand.

    I bought the Oypla trolley for my first download in 2018 and the front axle snapped off in the village on my way to the campsite 😂 didn’t even have a lot in it either!

    Is there free showers on site?

    • @TheAltVaultYT
      @TheAltVaultYT  Год назад

      As far as I know the showers have always been something extra that you need to pay for. In the past they’ve sold toilet upgrades on site so maybe they offer the same for the showers; but with it being sold out this year, they might not have the facilities to do that

    Have you ever gone for the toilet and shower pass? And would you say it’s worth it?

    • @TheAltVaultYT
      @TheAltVaultYT  Год назад +3

      I personally don’t go for it, mostly just to keep the cost down. But some friends that I camp with get the shower passes every year. The toilets in the campsite get cleaned regularly and thoroughly so there’s never really been a need to upgrade, but if you’re someone who likes a shower to stay clean, or even just to freshen up in the morning, I’ve heard that it’s definitely worth it.

      I did shower last year and toilet last year and the shower is worth it to feel that bit fresher. It’s like a nice little lift however, the toilet is pointless due to where it’s situated now, it’s more like a treat. It’s too far away from everything to be your go to shitter.

    Love watching videos like this, leading up to festivals. Mainly just to hype myself up.
    Great video, and very informative. I rewatched your download vlog the other day because i saw someone post it in the comment section on the download group page. So that also helped with the hype!
    For my list that no one cares about. (Listen to Gibby here. Im far from pro, but ive survived so far 😂)
    Tent: (£99.99) Decathlon Quechua MH100 XL 3 person blackout. Good enough tent for me and me other half. Pros: dont get woken up by morning sun, if been a hot day, it keeps the heat in for the cold night, its very good against strong winds. (havent used this tent with heavy rain yet, only a light drizzle, so not sure about that), Little porch area for those dirty boots.
    Negatives: Keeps heat in on those hot days- Tent is a sauna in the morning and midday sun. You cant stand up in it/ not a lot of head space.
    Bed: (£20) We also get an airbed from fat franks (free blowjobs hehe) But we travel by coach, so dont want to be taking too much. Never had an issue with FF.
    Sleeping bag: (£23) Fat frank. We get the double duvet and pillows (bring own duvet cover as they can be super itchy). we also bring our own blankets for extra comfort and warmth.
    Fat franks sleeping bags are good, used them before but can be a bit thin, so cold at night.
    Camp chair: (18.50) I actually own that Redwood one. Got it last year. Its very good. High back and a drink holder. what more do you need?
    poncho (£20) similar to the one you showed, also got it from amazon.
    Footware: Takes advise from you here, as i always fail on this part. So thank you 😂
    Powerbank I take 3 with me, as i also record a lot. A little one that holds about 10,000 (cant think of the name. had it for many years), which easily slides into my pocket when in the arena and not heavy at all (i carry this with me everywhere, not just festivals). Plus side to carrying it in your pocket. pick pocketers get super disappointed when they realise theyve stolen a super cheap powerbank 😂 but also, dont have to run to the tent later on in the evening if youve happened to use all your battery before headline act, on recording planes.
    A Soarise 26,800 (£22) and an Anker 20,000 (£33). A 30,000 one is definitely recommended though. Been meaning to pick myself up better ones for a while now.
    Food/ drink: not good for budget, but we just rely on the vendors as they, most of the time, taste amazing!
    Total = £117.99 (not including food bought at festival) However ive accumulated most of this over the years and only pay for the fat frank stuff each year, so really im only spending £43 per festival each year, still minus the food and drink... would rather not talk about that 🤣
    Once again, great video Dude. Looking forward to your upcoming videos!

      Wow thank you for all the helpful info 😊 Fat Frank is a godsend sometimes when you need some high quality gear (if you’re watching this Frank I’m open to a sponsorship 😂).
      Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching 😊

    I've used the 3man 3sec Air and double blow up double raised bed / Colombia sleeping bag is the way forward. I've used a trolley with big nobbleys on like motor X Wheels, it's never let us down even when we had all the heaven's opening up before 2012 it was like a monsoon/Rainforest storm I'm telling ya. Before they opened the Main gates up they tried mopping up the majority of the muddy fields to no avail!! I was wasted by the time the gates to the legendary main field of Heavy metal because we were drinking all the while we were in the bottle necked queue. I really hope it doesn't hammer it down with rain this year see you there fellow metal heads 😉 devil horns up In the air brother!!!!!
