It's hard to imagine this softly spoken man (Brian) could have been the rebellious bad boy people say he was. It just proves you don't know what goes on behind closed doors x

From what I've read of him (a lot) he reminds me a lot of my younger brother. Because he has so many similarities to my brother, I can not consider him a bad person in any way. I would consider him a ........... volatile person. He has a high IQ and well, a high sex drive (5 kids from 5 different mothers). He had sensitive emotions which would show up in not the most glamorous ways. I also think he wasn't a nasty person and that the drugs brought it out in him.

Brian was the main force back then. Only a few months after this performance, the talent of Mick and Keith as composers began to emerge, and that was the beginning of the end of Brian Jones as leader of the group.

*@Javier* Sure , but why did it have such a dramatic effect on him ? He had all he wished for , Wyman and Watts went on with living the good life .
Even the most patient of guys like Charlie Watts who was probably the only one who cried for him , admitted "sadly he wasn't a very nice person"....
Fame didn't rest easy on Brian's shoulders. He must've had something like "bipolar" issues.

Charlie clarified that he meant Brian could upset people. That's different from not being a nice person. Some people deserve to be upsetted, heh. It sounds more like Brian was a bit of a loner and spoke his mind. Sad that "fans" interpret that now as "not nice person."@@PAULLONDEN

Up to '64, it's obvious Brian Jones is the leader and spokesman of The Rolling Stones.
In '65 Michael "Mick" Jagger and Keith Richards would prove to be prolific songwriters with the hits The Last Time, (I Can Get No) Satisfaction and Get Off Of My Cloud resulting in a power shift in the band.

You can tell Brian Jones was a deep guy. His mind was working at so many things. He had such a talent. The rest of the group was okay, they did some wrong things but the true talent from the Stones was when they had Brian.

@@steffanhoffmann no way. He booked their shows and picked their songs and name. His weird sort of anxious drive to having a Rhythm and Blues band was, undeniably, the inception of the Stones. And his musical versatility expanded on that good start and took them from being a hit live act to having respectable arrangements that stood out. I think the legions of people hating on Brian Jones just don't appreciate that.

Sorry dude I agree Brian was charismatic but Mick is at least as much as him and the more I see them in that period, the more I tell myself Mick's charisma was (and is more again today) bigger! Mick is a healthy guy and his smile is SO lightening, man you can't deny it, while Brian had also a really charming smile but rather often looked tired or "stoned"(of course) I mean after let's say 1966, (would you agree?)
In any case you must open your mind and see the reality, and go beyond your huge love for Brian..!! I read quite all your "no Jones, no stones", I understand cause I know what it's to be a fan but anyway..!!
