So there are characters in this series whose names literally are "Important" and "To Steal"... Surely the author could've though of something cleverer than translating some words to German.
@@sjoerdth Character names actually play a massive role in the story itself because the characters entire lives and personas are defined by their names which they constantly try to fight against while battling their own nature shaped by their delusions of madness. The main antagonist even has alternate versions of himself which he refers to by personality traits that define who they are like Hope or Discord.
Yeah I also preferred the first book even though I really liked the second. It’s different enough in characters and structure that I would expect a lot of people to have a favorite.
I have this series on my TBR and I'm probably going to bump it up to sometime late next year. But that's not why I'm commenting. I see something new on your shelf. When can we expect a review?!?!? Lol.
I found the same thing... I liked the first book better than the second. However, many people thought the final book in the series (excluding the standalone Swarm and Steel) A War To End All was the worst in the trilogy but I think it was better than The Mirror's Truth. But if you do like Fletcher, The Obsidian Path was a mind-blowing series that I put well above Manifest Delusions.
Ohhh...I see you "The Devils" by Joe Abercrombie....I see you!
Reading it in December!
Well spotted!
The character work with Wichtig and Stehlen are amazing imo.

Yeah 100% the character development in this book is top tier imo
It's fine @@sjoerdth

I think I liked the main plot from book 1 more, but enjoyed the character development and ending of book 2
These publishers need to mix up their book title fonts. I thought this was another Brian Lee Durfee book at first glance.

I agree completely. I liked the second one quite a bit, but I felt like it dragged some and didn't quite live up to Beyond Redemption.

That will be my next series I read of his!
Agreed, Obsidian Path and his standalones like Norylska Groans are amazing too.
@@nightmarishcompositions4536norylska groans is one of my favorite books ever. Wish they'd link up for a sequel soon.
You might like A Land fit for Heroes by Richard Morgan. Really grimdark, very deep and complex characters too.
First 2 books were so good. The last one I couldn't finish 😔
I see The Devils in the back
This fool stole the look and font from Brian Lee Durfee’s books!
Mirrors Truth came out a year before Brian’s first book
