@@samuelbhend2521 Eerrrr, you can copyright a colour?? You're joking surely? Looking at the entire Rotterdam Ship port complex is a real eye opener. That is quite the massive maze of shipping ports. Hard to believe there are much bigger ones in China.
If she had decent outboard motors with tiller steering she wouldn’t need tugs to manoeuvre and be much cheaper to run. Twin 150 Mercury with high thrust I suggest for best performance.
Very good video as always mate !! You are a lucky man to be able to see these great ships in Rotterdam! I was able to see the mooring boat in this video, would it be possible for you to record a mooring maneuver?
I lived in Rotterdam many years ago and the scale of the port is awesome. The really gigantic ships are incredible, but I also find them unsettling. If a giant oil tanker fails, you've got a herculean problem. If a supergiant container ship has a problem it can be catastrophic - the blockage on the Suez canal a few years back, springs to mind. These supergiant ships are built because the shipping cost per TEU (I think it's called) is less and thus costs are lower. But if they are so large that anything that goes wrong and you've got a major disaster then really they are passing costs onto national governments and nearby communities, they pay massively if there are oil spills. For instance, the Exxon Valdez disaster - did Exxon pay all the costs incurred by governments and local communities and various businesses? I expect the list of affected groups was huge. And Exxon obviously hired the very best lawyers to fight every liability. I bet everyone had to fight like hell to get compensation. Aren't corporations passing their costs onto others? Privatise the profit, and socialise the cost, is a very sensible policy for a corporation to follow, they pretend not to of course. But large corporations have too much power - in the US, Intel got the states in a bidding war to win their investment. They have extracted incredible extra money (or tax waivers) from the states. The Federal government needs to sort that out - its anti-competitive, it's basically corruption - especially when various firms and individuals then make donations to the very same parties and people who gave them the various tax waivers and subsidies to start with. How is that not corruption?
I asked chatgpt how many tanker truck can be filled with the oil from the supertanker A typical tanker truck used for fuel transport can carry around 30,000 to 35,000 liters of fuel. In contrast, a supertanker ship can carry millions of liters of oil, typically ranging from 300,000 to 2 million liters per tanker, depending on its size and capacity. Assuming an average supertanker capacity of 1.5 million liters and a tanker truck capacity of 32,500 liters, you could fill approximately 46 tanker trucks with the oil from a single supertanker shipment. Keep in mind that these are rough estimates, and actual capacities can vary based on specific tanker models and ship sizes.
Was that an Ultra Large Crude Carrier? Or just a Very Large Crude Carrier? I was thinking that when she is empty, where the waterline is now would be higher that the tugboats. Thank you for the excellent depiction of operations in a major port. The tugboats sure keep busy!

Fairplay tamadara just driving sideways as if it was the normal direction of movement, what a show off :). They are round anyways so can go in every direction they want !
This is a massive tanker and i know that it takes times for these super tankers to dock. Those tugboats are vers strong and manouvering must be precise. Those tugboat captains knows the deep sea even the pilots who board any ship in the deep sea must be highly trained they must know the under water current as they the pilots takes control of the vessels and all the caiptans of any vessel must obey the instructions of the pilots. This super tanker must have very strong mooring robes. No crew member can embark for as long as the pilot is on board.
Not so its 'to masters orders and pilots advice' always except in the panama canal where the pilot takes navigational control but the captain is always in command of the ship. Crew cannot disembark until the vessel is cleared by customs and quarantine - that's when the yellow flag is lowered
That is a gigantic ship - I'm finding the bridge a bit ugly, and the sheer size of it is overwhelming. Should we be burning so much oil? Burning so much oxygen?

Cosco Shipping have a nice hull colour. It seems to weather better than Maersk's blue Hull does.
Perhaps the Cosco ships have had a more recent lick of paint? Which says something about possible investment levels
