Interesting to see a supertanker being moored. What is the reason for water coming from the anchor hole? 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
Water out of the hawse pipe is to wash off sand and mud off the chain when retrieving the anchor chain assuming the ship was at anchor in the first place.
In this case it could have been switched on and probably not noticed until the crew finished the mooring operation and then realised it was still on.😂
@@iceman7975 About water : I agree ! Holy truth !
Oil Tankers must have their Firewater system all the time up and Running inside the discharge harbor to immediately act in case of a fire, Therefore most ships have a Pressure outlet near the Anchor holes and those outlets will / can be closed automatically or with handcraft in case their is a fire an all water needed to extinguish the fire (excuse my english)
The water coming from the anchor hole during mooring is likely ballast water or water used to wash the anchor. It's a common practice to ensure the anchor is clean and ready for use. 🚢⚓
Absolutely mesmerizing mooring operation! The precision and scale of handling a 330m supertanker in the bustling port of Rotterdam is a testament to maritime expertise. 🚢⚓
This vessel is owned by Angelicoussis family. The largest shipping magnate in Greece
As always an insightful video with a Highlight ! About mooring operation : very helpful lesson for young sailors ! Thanks dear Friend ✓
Thanks vlado, happy weekend
@@airliners.ships.channel My heartfelt thanks dear Friend 🙏 I wish You look to build on a strong weekend ! Don't let Your happiness pass You by !
Really enjoyed that video, gives complete picture of a mooring operation and how a single person can operate the mooring stations which are solar powered. Cheers.
Thanks:-)
Top of the top 👍🏿🍀

Really epic video mate! Liked!

Ich wundere mich über die Lady Maria Fisher, weil sie so gut wie keine Wellen produziert, obwohl sie doch recht flott unterwegs ist
Beautiful upload. I wonder if NCL Getaway is on her way too a drydock? Looks almost empty / Adam
Thanks,
There where guests on that ship
Some readers ask why water is coming out the anchor holes, this is the reason
Oil Tankers must have their Firewater system all the time up and Running inside the discharge / loading harbor to immediately act in case of a fire, Therefore most ships have a Pressure outlet near the Anchor holes and those outlets will / can be closed automatically or with handcraft in case their is a fire and all water is needed to extinguish the fire (excuse my English)
But also to cool down the hydraulic motors used during mooring operations.
As a layman, please explain the water that always comes out of the ship's anchor hole. Thanks to whoever provided the explanation.
Washing the anchor chain, the chain gets full of mud/sand whilst at anchor ⚓️.
You probably get this question all the time, but why is there water spraying out past the anchor?
Nice video
Thanks:-)
Note the small 3cm RADAR mounted on the stern. Its height is low. so range and blind spot limited. Must be used for small craft operations? Also, a plumb bow is rare for VLCCs.
Voor een boot uit 2023 toch best al wat krasjes in z'n lak?
That was really great. Would like to see how they hook up the transfer hoses. Looks like they use CO2 as a fire preventer.
Thanks:-)
Very wide supertanker
Why do I always see water coming out of the ship?
