I read, the shipyard will check if they can rebuilt, the ship is only 10 years old. 1100 of 3800 cars onboard where undamaged, and i think the engine room also.
Vermutlich wird sich an der Sicherheitsausstattung auf diesen Schiffen, SOLAS, im Hinblick auf die veränderte Beschaffenheit von Autos (schwer löschbare Akkus und erhöhte Plastikanteile) hinsichtlich der Sicherheit der Besatzungen nichts tun. IMO, Steuerung rechtlicher Prozesse durch Wirtschaft, hinreichende Sicherheit zu teuer.

I think electric cars should be transported without batteries. Batteries should be carried in fireproof containers separately.
You would need a new way of transporting them then, because you wouldn’t be able to drive them on and off a RoRo vessel

It was on the way to a shipyard, there was a big fire onboard
The extreme heat of the fire burned the paint off. With the paint gone the salt water rusted the hull of the vessel.
