Oh, this is magnificent. It's late night now, closer to waking-up time than lying-down time, barely; I want to listen to this again. Thank you for this.
Wonderful! You are a kindred spirit to Dana Gioia. What a beautiful explanation. It is like children who are naturally drawn to imitate their parents--to do what they do, and so become like them. It would seem our Father in heaven is engaging this natural propensity of children to lead us into taking on the heart of Christ into ourselves.
Thanks so much for posting this video. One of the most insightful lectures on the psalms I have ever heard. I really mean that. In thanksgiving for your ministry and blessings to your community.
I can't believe I actually sat here and listened to an entire lecture on The Psalms. What an illuminating presentation--- and finally, a 'Ted Talk' without pretense. Awaiting more !
Maria Boulding's new translation (www.newcitypress.com/expositions-of-the-psalms-set-paperback.html) is superb - but expensive. There is a partial translation in NPNF, but for the complete work, you have to go back to the six-volume set in the Library of the Fathers: Volume 1: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo24augu/page/n11/mode/2up Volume 2: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo25augu Volume 3: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo30augu Volume 4: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo32augu Volume 5: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo00augu_3/page/n5/mode/2up Volume 6: archive.org/details/expositionsonboo39augu
Thank you very much for this beautiful lecture! I was wondering what is your recommended translation of Augustine's Exposition on the Psalms? What do you think of the translation by Sr Maria Boulding? And what do you think of Bellarmine's Commentary ? He does quote Augustine at times but his exposition is not always Christocentric unlike Augustine's.
This excellent presentation needs broader distribution! First time through the Bible, I asked myself how should I read these Psalms. Maybe a short book is in order?

Thanks for sharing this presentation on your channel. Any recommendations as to an English translation of St. Augustine's Exposition of the Psalms?

Beautiful! My Parish would benefit. I believe participating in teachings like this is how we repair our ruptured Catholic fellowship.
WOW! You schooled me again. Thanks so much. Next up: typology???
18:54 C.S. Lewis was Anglo-Irish, so I doubt he would be too much offended.

I have enjoyed the Psalms, Saint Joseph Edition (NCB).
Where can you get the revision to the Coverdale Psalter? I for one would love to read it.
Are you a catholic ?
