Attended Divine Liturgy for the first time a month ago or so. I have been raised protestant my whole life and we have raised our children that way also. We honestly did not know any better. That being said, glory to God for opening us up to his true church! My soul has been longing for this without me knowing exactly what was missing.
INDEED: “In Him we move and have our being…” In Him means the Church; Christ is the Church: He is the Head and we are members of His Body. We all yearn to be at home in this world, but we are strangers in a strange place. Only the Church is home here. Only in the Church do we find the paradise that He created and intended for us.
Last week I attended my first Sunday in Orthodox church. This week my heart is changing. All the anger and bitterness I have been carrying around has lifted. I have been "in confession" all week as my foolish sinfullness has appeared before me and I have wept with gratitude because it has enabled me to forgive others. Now my heart and mind are at peace. Thankyou for this generous podcast which will help me on my journey towards becoming Orthodox.
"If you have a television, and that's the center of your family, and you wanna be an Orthodox Christian, take that, throw it out into the garbage, and replace it with your icon corner." - Fr. Peter Heers, 2022.
My local Orthodox Priest gave me an Orthodox Study Bible. Without being Catechized or baptized into Orthodoxy (from Protestantism), I can say that the Lord is changing my heart - and my life - through prayer. Seek and you shall find, indeed. Thank you father for this wonderful introduction to the Ancient Faith and it's practices!
Thank you, Father Peter! Today, I experienced my first Divine Liturgy, and it moved me to tears of joy. My wife, who remains devoted to her Protestant faith, has been incredibly supportive of my journey towards conversion. It's a process, but I am blessed to have found a wonderful spiritual father in my area to guide me. Each day, I feel my heart growing and turning away from sin and misguided theology. I pray that my wife will also come to see the truth in her own time.
I have been an enquirer for a few years now. This past year I have been attending far more and over the past holy week I've been attending almost every day. Never have I felt closer to God. Soon I will begin my catachesis. Let me tell you all that the demonic attacks I have experienced recently are no joke. Please pray for me. Glory to God! Christ is risen! ☦️
Thank you for saying that . I have been struggling for several years, primarily because my medical condition has robbed me of my ability to walk or drive, and therefore I cannot attend Divine Liturgy.
Catholic convert to the Roman Catholic church, went from the NO, to the Traditional Latin Mass, flash forward after years of feeling pulled to the Orthodox church and much research, I took the leap and hopefully some time this year, I'll be baptized and confirmed.
So wonderful to hear that you will be baptized and received and live the life of Christ in the Church, imitating the Saints, following the holy fathers, and making progress toward illumination and glorification!
Thank you so much for this. I've been watching in small portions. I am not Orthodox, but I also do not think I can attend protestant services any longer. I am being drawn in. So much I don't understand, but it feels like I'm coming home. My husband is unsure, but willing to test the waters with me. He has a lot more to unravel from being raised protestant and attaching himself to certain reformers and beliefs. Pray for us, please!
God bless you both. I'm in a similar boat. My wife and I have left the Pentecostal church, but she is still very much protestant. She is fine with me going to Orthodox church, but prefers to attend a Baptist church.
I am a catechumen and this was a great video to get some new approaches to be an orthodox Christian! This teaching strengthened my orthodox mind. These were important things to learn!
I've been attending a few Orthodox services. Coming from a Baptist background, this all seems foreign and yet correct. It has been a very interesting few months for me. Thankyou for this well done presentation.
Concerning the Liturgy of the Faithful, some of us Orthodox Christians can't commune sometimes, but want be there for the service. People at least receive Grace and Blessing from being present.
This is beautiful, Thank you, Father, this is really good for me this morning. I will watch through this program fully, and learn the right way, the Orthodox Way.Your channel helps people like me who are limited to outside travel.
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I recently was saved from new age by jesus and I am learning about ortodoxy. Thank you so much for this videos because it is answering many questions I had, God bless you for your work!!
Had been praying to God to help me find the right true church and i came across the orthodox church . It just stuck out for me . I am searching for a church in my area . I feel i belong
I love candles. The light is beautiful. I love Gregorian chant also. I prefer prayer that generates awe love gratitude not fear self hatred depression.
I am so grateful for this. Thank you so much Father. I am stuck at home 5 years with illness. Hope to be an orthodox one day in real life but for now only in my heart.
May God help you! Of course, it is necessary to be received into the Church to bear spiritual fruit so we hope you can make contact with an Orthodox spiritual father who can provide guidance towards your reception. With God all things are possible!
Thank you for this amazing video. New to the faith. Baptized few years ago. Still learning. Love this beautiful original faith church. Thanks be to God🌺☺️🕊️🙏🏽
As someone from a Baptist background it’s amazing to me how some baptists despise the sign of the cross with their fingers yet wear a golden cross necklace
This stream is perfect timing for me! I’ve been going to liturgy and Vespers for a few weeks now and have had some pointers from the parishioners, but it is still all very foreign to me from a practical perspective. Thanks!
For a warmer perspective take a look at "Orthodoxy 101 Boot Camp" an excellent series of videos more concerned with spirituality and Jesus then endless opinions on rules.
Your blessing Father, really appreciating these types of videos. When your in the church for a while it’s really good to hear again/learn more. Please make more!
Hello Sir, thank you very much for the Upload. I have been interested in Orthodoxy since quite a few years now, only checking out online info from time to time. But i have never had a specific explanation of the customs and pillars of an Orthodox Christian Life. Therefore i am excited to learn this now, and maybe take a closer step in my daily life towards Orthodox Christianity. God bless you.
Thanks for telling me about not crossing legs, as I just did that! Oops! I'm just coming to the church as an American so I need to be told about these things. Thanks for covering the basics. I'm hoping to become a catechumen soon, after ten years of being Christian finding the Orthodox church last year through stories of saints online. I have gone to different churches to find the proper one, I sometimes go to a Catholic grotto, but something was keeping me from converting. I know when I was in churches without saints it felt empty. I didn't know what Christian orthodoxy was really until last year or so, which now seems unbelievable. There is a phenomenon of American converts to Christianity becoming born again at first, of which I was doing, but it didn't leave me with much framework, which is needed. I appreciate your videos I've started the lessons and looking forward to them. I especially am benefiting from the Russian New Martyrs lessons as I've been trying to learn about them and what happened in Russia during that time and you seem to be the only one doing them any justice that I've found, except for the one other RUclips channel that you reference. Thank you.
Thank you for your comments! Wonderful to hear about your path and progress! May the Lord bless your struggle and crown it with a thorough catechism and baptism-chrismation-communion!
Thank you Father for the information provided. I have been and is Keenly interested in Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth. The practical guide is very informative for those willing to join the Orthodox faith. Pray for me in this journey.
What a wonderful study for those seeking. I always enjoy your videos. Very comforting to know there is still a Loyalty to Our God and King that remains a stronghold to fight a Good Fight in and with the Lord and perform it. May God be merciful to the decieved who call evil good and the Good of the Lord evil. 🕊.... 💞
Here to learn, exploring orthodoxy. Not sure yet, I still have some issues with things in orthodoxy mostly due to preconceived notions/ideas due to the Catholic church. Praying for God to guide me. Not sure where I end up at, so far the reception of my family has not been great. I must balance it somehow, even if that means I practice a bit deeper alone and stay in a Protestant home.
@@wyattevans4335 wife just won’t go for it, we are at an LCMS but I continue to learn and one day, when the kids are out of the house, God willing I will join.
@@JKirbs23similarly, my husband isn’t convinced (Pentecostal faith). I went to my first Divine Liturgy today and it was powerful yet so peaceful. I’d love to go back but I may have to wait until my children are much older.
In the latin tridentine Mass women also have to cover the head with a veil. White for single women, black for married women. It is true you kept the traditions and the liturgy in a purer form. The modern mass in the catholic church is very protestantized. Thats why i go in the latin one as much as possible. 2hours pass and you feel it was so fast. Its a blessing
There are mantilla rules, but my most used veils are a light brown (similar to my hair colour so it blends in) and dark purple. The Latin mass is very protestantized. Trent created the Tridentine mass to counter Protestants specifically. They made changes to attract Protestants. I was a Latin mass trad for almost a decade before converting to orthodoxy. A low mass is thirty minutes a high mass is an hour.
In my parish the catechumens stay after the part where the priest says let no catechumen remain. As a catechumen myself I always find it uncomfortable to stay there while everyone is receiving Christ that I close my eyes and keep my head towards the floor the whole time. I have been in the church for a year now and I'm still uncomfortable as I'm not baptized yet...now I understand why.
Regarding not bending the knee on Sunday.... I started my Orthodox Journey in an Orthodox Church that had pews & kneelers, we knelt every Sunday on the kneelers. The only time we didn't was after Pascha for 40 days (if I recall?? I don't attend there anymore). This all seems strange in light of what you're teaching.
Father what are we to do if we have really bad memory. I have prayed the Creed an uncountable amount of time and yet I still struggle to remember it by heart. It took me YEARS to remember just the Our Father. I can't imagine being able to remember so many different prayers for different circumstances. It's something I wish God would change in me.
I was a bit inattentive when I was at my first few liturgies, there’s was just too much going on for me to pick it up, and I stayed after the call for the catechumens to leave. I think I got a spiritual backlash after the first time for with I was not ready. It was very intense and emotional but it made me realize I went where I didn’t belong. After consulting my priest, who said it’s better to respect the holy tradition, I no longer stay.
A few questions for those who left protestantism to go into orthodoxy, 1) why the switch? 2) what Orthodox doctrines was hard for you accept and why did you accept it? 3) Did you find the orthodox practices foreign/strange at first? 4) Do you still hold certain beliefs/doctrines from protestantism and which ones? 5) why Orthodoxy and not Catholicism or Lutheranism? I am on rhe edge of converting to orthodox but it is very different from reformed protestantism. Not to mention i have my wife looking into this... and she's "not sold". I appreciate your time and answers. God bless.
What is that beautiful chant called before the stream begins? The one playing with the window opened and the church below? I couldn't find the same version as is in the video.
I read The Way of the Pilgrim. Laborious until it got to Jesus prayer. However it certainly increased patience tolerance and you learnt to be honest with yourself however painful. Not for those with pathological guilt.
I’ve been traveling in a rural Wyoming north, and there’s no Orthodox presence out here. I didn’t want to have to skip liturgy twice, so I stooped to attend a Roman mass. Sigh. Novis Ordo is more empty than ever! Many Episcopal parishes are more traditionally western than most Romans these days. I might as well gone to the park and meditate on the psalms while watching the water.
Listening to Fr Seraphim of Mull Monastery, and Fr Spyridon, "Beloved...." Love. Love. Love is embued in . Not just intellectual information thrown out to the table for the guests, but exemplified in attitude. It is palatable. Not in a worldly way, but an example lived out in reality. I might be wrong to make to point that out. It's painful to listen here. Very informative tho. Maybe I'm expecting or asking too much. Forgive me.
Painful? Please provide specifics so we can understand whether that pain is a good pain which uproots pride and sin and produces change or a pain which is inflicted by our passions.
I used to visit an orthodox church pretty often when I lived in a city and always felt and overwhelming sense of warmth and safety, though I never attended any services. The town I have lived in for the last five years doesn't have one, but a liturgy is going to be held here the coming weekend. I'm interested in going. I was raised "culturally lutheran" and my family only went to church a few times a year. I never felt much of a connection. Now, I want to find God again. I know there's only a very small group of orthodox christians in my town and if I go to the liturgy, I'll 10000% be noticed and it makes me nervous, on top of already being nervous about trying a new thing. Any words of encouragement or experiences especially from other people who converted from lutherans?
Please don’t hesitate to visit. Many Orthodox in America are converts from Lutheran and other faiths. It would be good to go and stand in the back and observe and don’t feel obligated to fit in or scared about causing any offense. If you want, you could call the priest of the parish ahead of time in case he might have some specific advice regarding attending that particular parish for the first time. Orthodox churches can differ a lot from one to another with regard to their makeup, for instance some may use very little English and be mostly comprised of people who have come from another country, while others may use mostly English and be comprised of mostly American converts with different faith backgrounds. If you don’t have a good experience at one Orthodox church, try to visit others.
I grew up in a Catholic family, as an adult I thought the Church had lost its spirit so I moved on and started practicing meditation in Theravada Buddhist monasteries, which I did for over 25 years but I have a devotional nature so I miss the worship side of Christianity. I heard that to be an Orthodox one need to be a quasi-saint 😇 which I'm not😔 Thank you, Father ❤️
We are all sinners. We are saved, being saved, and will be saved. We are on a journey. We desire communion with him in Whose image we are made. Every human being desires this ultimately. Make a beginning. Trust God. Love him above all else. And move forward. Salvation is for everyone.
Glory to Jesus Christ! Father, would it be possible to add time stamps for this very insightful but lengthy video according to the topic being discussed?
I am also wondering if I should be leaving, as a catechumen, at the expulsion of the catechumens? I think the obvious answer is Yes! But, Glory to God, our church has many catechumens right now and I don’t want to scandalize anyone or appear self righteous, yet, I feel an extreme pain of conscience after the expulsion as I remain in my place standing there, knowing I am not supposed to be there. Would happily hear anyones thoughts on this.
There is a degree to which God can fill in what is lacking in terms of the weakness or the laxity of the priest. If there was not some intention to not do a proper baptism and the priest maybe was nervous about dunking the child all the way or something like that then I think we could trust God to fill in for the priests weakness there. But always it is best to go and ask an experienced spiritual elder.
I love the music this video starts off with. Those bells give me chills! Is this a real thing in an Orthodox church? If so, which church is it from? Can anyone recommend more badass Orthodox music?

I am very drawn to the Orthodox Church, but my wife is firmly rooted in Protestantism and does not support further inquiry/investigation. I don’t know what to do. I want to honor my wife, but I also deeply want to pursue this calling I feel. Does anyone have any advice?
They do it that way in the Catholic church, where they will dismiss the catechumens during service at a certain time, and then do their own study together. But for anyone coming to experience the Orthodox Church for the first time or second time or whenever, they need to be able to sit through it all and not be told to remove themselves during communion time. That would not welcome people, or draw people into the Orthodox Church it at all, but make them afraid, or feel rejected.
Ευλογείτε πάτερ! Concerning music, to ensure we are vigilant over the course of the day while at work and in church, and at home within our icon corner, what do you recommend as acceptable? Classical and Church music is mainly what I listen to, although I find myself distracted at times with Mozart or Beethoven while praying. Thank you in advance, Father! May the Lord keep you.
From a member of the OE Team (if you want to ask Fr. Peter directly, let us know here or reach him privately on Facebook or team@orthodoxethos.com): Classical music, being far more appropriate than "rock and other forms of psuedo-music" as Fr. Seraphim Rose refers to them, remains something lesser than ecclesiastical music. If something distracts you from prayer and turns your nous away from Christ, then put it aside. I am still learning how to apply the wisdom of the Saints on this matter, but I do believe that much benefit has come to my soul as I have almost entirely eliminated popular music from my life, only retaining occasional classical music and embracing Orthodox music/chanting. I hope this helps.
Father Peter, and blessed Team Member of OE, this is very helpful and practical advice that is easily digestible. Thank you, Father! Ο θεός πάντα μαζί ζετέ!
Bless father. I have been baptized orthodox as an infant with pouring and “splashing” with the water so as that the whole body got covered in water, but still that’s not full immersion. If i have the chance someday should i consider correcting that? Thank you.
Pretty much the same question here... I was told I had a "kitchen sink" baptism by Roman Catholics when I was young. I have been atheist most of my life. Now that I am in my 40s and seeking God in the Orthodox church, when I God willing get to that point should I redo my baptism with full immersion in the tradition God has guided me towards, Orthodoxy?
@@danieljclark5922 Yes. As someone who was protestant and baptized, then chrismated in the Church I would encourage you to do all you can to seek baptism in the Church. I later received “corrective” baptism and do not regret it. Seek baptism brother. Also, welcome home. ☦️
@Daniel J Clark- I would not say that you’re going to “redo baptism“, because strictly speaking you were not baptized, that is immersed, but moreover there is no mystery, no sacrament of initiation *into the church* among the heterodox, who are outside the church. Clearly in your case, as in most others today, the presuppositions for economy do not exist. Therefore, it is imperative that you are received into the one holy Catholic and apostolic church as the Lord has commanded, by immersion, by baptism.
@OrthodoxMacrfonian - The only correction that I’ve heard an elder suggesting for your case is the following: At a baptism for another person, after the mystery, you are immersed three times in the sanctified water. This is what he recommended, and *not* the full mystery again, which would be quite mistaken and incorrect, given that this was *an orthodox priest in the church* who made this mistake but during the baptismal ceremony, the mystery.
@@T_Wozna this was my route as well. It took my family and I almost two years before finding a priest who would baptize us correctly, but it can be done
As for the sign of the cross, I have a relative who is disabled/paralyzed on their right side including right hand. Is it okay in this circumstance to use the left hand?
From a member of the OE Team: be obedient to your spiritual father, assuming you have that kind of relationship with him. If you don't have a spiritual father in the traditional sense, prayerfully search for one. Sometimes, especially if you have a spiritual father, it is harmful to receive advice on something like this from two different sources. If you have a spiritual father, seek his guidance.
Is there anything that would bar a person from converting to Orthodoxy? My husband and I are currently inquirers and I believe this is the true church. This is my husbands 1st (and only) marriage but it’s my 3rd. I’m really worried about bringing this up with our priest.
I can relate my experience. I was married and divorced once before coverting to Orthodoxy, and my husband had not been married or divorced before. Since my ex was not Orthodox much less were we married in the Orthodox Church, the Crowning Ceremony was for a first marriage for us after we converted (we were originally married civilly). Hope this helps!
@TheOrthodoxEthos Concerning baptism, I was received via chrismation because I was fully immersed in a triune formula (once). But if it is true that there is no initiation into The Church via the heterodox, was my chrismation invalid also and therefore I’m not actually a member of His body? I’ve received communion for over 2 years already…what are the implications of that? If the Bishop (who has power to bind and loose Matt 18:18) receives me wouldn’t that mean I am Truly received? Fr. Seraphim Rose was brought in by chrismation…
Father Peter, It would think that prostrations at home orayer could be omitted during Bright Week, then resumed as normal even though it is not yet Pentecost. And never done on Sundays, of course.
The prayer rope I was given by my parish, which was acquired from Mount Athos during a recent pilgrimage, has 151 knots and 7 beads. 7 is the number of completion, but I'm not so sure about the 151 knots. Anyone have any ideas?
1:50:00 How to prepare for Holy Communion, step 6 is fast from everything 1:56:00 How to live the Lord's Day, in bold letters we do not fast on Sunday What am I missing here?
@@OrthodoxEthos Okay thank you for clarifying, I was wondering if I was missing something. Thank you for taking your time to reply to people and make these videos, helping to educate us about orthodoxy
Thanks for this lecture Father Peter! 2 Questions: 1. To the sign of the cross, on older Icons we see the Saints doing the sign of the cross with their thumb together with the little finger and their third- or ringfinger. I found that this was changed around 1650 towards the sign now in use in many dominations, due to some modernism in the church of Constantinopel, which handsign is more appropriate cause in my church both handpositions are allowed and in use?! 2. And since when is it allowed that in churches are benches for all believers? Saw this lately in the greek orthodox church, I visited for an Icon of St. john the Baptist. We only have a few seats for the ill and sick, all other stand for 2, 3 even 4 hours and longer! We stand for our King and God, the highest and only authority on earth and in heaven, how could you sit there?
Orthodoxy doesn't do a sign of the Cross that is done by other denominations., and the current one couldn't have been adopted in 1650, as there are earlier attestations to it.
1:29:00 Father, also Saint Kosmas the Aetolian (+ 1779) said about tv: "Θα 'ρθεί καιρός που μέσα στα σπίτια, θα μπει ο καταραμένος διάβολος και τα κέρατά του θα είναι στα κεραμίδια / there will come a time when the cursed devil will enter the houses and his horns will be on the tiles (roof)."
What you call "supernatural encounters" are most likely manifestations of the demons. Orthodox pray to the Lord not to give them any visions as they contribute only to the one's pride and thus bring about the doom.

Attended Divine Liturgy for the first time a month ago or so. I have been raised protestant my whole life and we have raised our children that way also. We honestly did not know any better. That being said, glory to God for opening us up to his true church! My soul has been longing for this without me knowing exactly what was missing.
Praise the Lord. My God bless you & your family on your new journey. You may find the channel below helpful

I'm with you. Same same.
INDEED:
“In Him we move and have our being…”
In Him means the Church; Christ is the Church: He is the Head and we are members of His Body.

What a wonderful warm welcome. 😀
I read that Father Seraphim Rose mentioned “lord Jesus Christ, spare me from shameful passions” as another common prayer
Been a Baptist most of my life. That’s officially changed.
Same.
Indeed He is risen!
Have you experienced a reprieve from the demonic attacks?
I have been an struggling orthodox Christian for fifty years. This was both helpful and informative.
@@OrthodoxEthos Thank you, it was a long and difficult journey. Glad that I had the strength to make the leap to Orthodox church. God bless.☦

I have been in a long process to become to think as an orthodox Christian.

God bless you, dearest to Christ!
the bells and chimes gave great comfort to me
Regarding not bending the knee on Sunday.... I started my Orthodox Journey in an Orthodox Church that had pews & kneelers, we knelt every Sunday on the kneelers. The only time we didn't was after Pascha for 40 days (if I recall?? I don't attend there anymore). This all seems strange in light of what you're teaching.
❤️❤️❤️ Beautiful. Glory to God.
Do your best. Let the rest offered up to God‘s mercy. Don’t worry!
I also have struggled my entire life with memorizing. There is no shame in using a prayer book. I follow the Liturgy with my Liturgy book.
All in good time. Step-by-step. When it’s the right time you will understand and it will be blessed. Glory be to God. Don’t worry at all.
@@OrthodoxEthos thank you Father Peter, for this very instructive video and your encouraging comment.

I had never even heard of crossing legs being a problem...but my church doesn't have pews. Yet another of the many problems generated by having pews.
God bless.

I think St. Mary of Egypt is among the fewest icons that do not have any headcover.
I read The Way of the Pilgrim. Laborious until it got to Jesus prayer. However it certainly increased patience tolerance and you learnt to be honest with yourself however painful. Not for those with pathological guilt.
I love the warning at the end
I’ve been traveling in a rural Wyoming north, and there’s no Orthodox presence out here. I didn’t want to have to skip liturgy twice, so I stooped to attend a Roman mass. Sigh. Novis Ordo is more empty than ever! Many Episcopal parishes are more traditionally western than most Romans these days. I might as well gone to the park and meditate on the psalms while watching the water.
It would be better to get a prayer book, or print out the services and read them at home than to go to a heretical church.
It is prohibited for us Orthodox to go to heretical "churches". Their "eucharist" doesn't give you Christ, it gives you demons.
I just started going to a Orthodox just and already talking about being a catechumen
Wonderful! Let us know...

In an Orthodox baptism, if the baby is not fully immersed but only up to the chest, and the head is sprinkled with water, is the baptism valid?
There is a degree to which God can fill in what is lacking in terms of the weakness or the laxity of the priest. If there was not some intention to not do a proper baptism and the priest maybe was nervous about dunking the child all the way or something like that then I think we could trust God to fill in for the priests weakness there. But always it is best to go and ask an experienced spiritual elder.

Good morning I wanted to know how I can receive your power point transcript? This is very helpful for me as a new catechumen.
Also curious about this
From a member of the OE Team (if you want to ask Fr.
Father Peter,
and blessed Team Member of OE, this is very helpful and practical advice that is easily digestible.
@OrthodoxMacrfonian - The only correction that I’ve heard an elder suggesting for your case is the following:
At a baptism for another person, after the mystery, you are immersed three times in the sanctified water.
Thank you for this video. Regarding the sign of the cross, there are two illustrations shown. Can you explain why please? Thank you so much.
As for the sign of the cross, I have a relative who is disabled/paralyzed on their right side including right hand. Is it okay in this circumstance to use the left hand?
Yes, of course! But make it sure to make the cross from right to left as if you were using your right hand! 🙂
Thank God and you, Father. What if you visit a monastery and the priestmonk suggests a different prayer rule than you’re Spiritual Confessor/Father?
If it was good enough for Fr. Seraphim Rose, it should be good enough for the rest of us.
I have a question on the cases when some believers who belong to those traditions and fast on Saturday for receiving Holy Communion?
Re:prayer rope what about “vain repetition s”?
Father Peter,
It would think that prostrations at home orayer could be omitted during Bright Week, then resumed as normal even though it is not yet Pentecost. And never done on Sundays, of course.
Question: is a Spiritual Father the priest of my church or is it someone else?
Could be either.
The prayer rope I was given by my parish, which was acquired from Mount Athos during a recent pilgrimage, has 151 knots and 7 beads. 7 is the number of completion, but I'm not so sure about the 151 knots. Anyone have any ideas?
@@-Justinus- good catch. I have only just started reading through them, so I was unaware. The Protestant version of Psalms has just 150. Thanks.
God rested 7th day. 6th day was the completion.
I have a question, can you mix having icons and family pictures on your walls of your family room?
Yes. No problem there... I would perhaps arrange them in a way that Lord's icon is on the top tho...
Do we do the cross each time we do the Jesus Prayer on a prayer rope or bracelet?
1:50:00 How to prepare for Holy Communion, step 6 is fast from everything
1:56:00 How to live the Lord's Day, in bold letters we do not fast on Sunday
What am I missing here?
Nothing. The day is not finished by the time we take holy communion in late morning. The rest of the day we feast.
Lol so you're saying you stand for God, and yet you go around barking at other people in the comments??? You realize you're being a hypocrite??
@@livathloniw3254 where do I do so?
1:29:00 Father, also Saint Kosmas the Aetolian (+ 1779) said about tv: "Θα 'ρθεί καιρός που μέσα στα σπίτια, θα μπει ο καταραμένος διάβολος και τα κέρατά του θα είναι στα κεραμίδια / there will come a time when the cursed devil will enter the houses and his horns will be on the tiles (roof)."
I remember growing up kissing the Priests hand
ITS NOT RATIONALISM MANY PROTESTANT PEOPLE HAVE HAD A SUPERNATURAL ENCOUTER WITH CHRIST. CHRIST HAS CHANGED MANY LIVES OUTSIDE THE ORTHODOX CHURCH
What you call "supernatural encounters" are most likely manifestations of the demons. Orthodox pray to the Lord not to give them any visions as they contribute only to the one's pride and thus bring about the doom.
What is/ are the bell music and chanting at the beginning and where can I find it??
