Looking at this movie, it’s definitely not best but the Hemsworth and Hiddleston dynamic was really amazing all through the MCU. I hope they get a reunion
I am so hyped up to see the Winter Soldier. It's still gotta be in the top 5 MCU movies. Total pivot from everything before it, ESPECIALLY the first Cap movie.
Odin catches a Raven. He has two Ravens named Huggin & Munnin. They are seen throughout the MCU. Not getting anything past Heimdall. He is Knuckles, after all. What makes this movie is the chemistry between Hemsworth & Hiddleston. Love seeing the range of Sam's emotions about Loki.
The ending is particularly telling when Loki urges Thor to go on his way. Loki recognizes that Thor is worthy of wielding Mjolnir, while he himself is not. Even if he desired to claim the hammer, he knows it would be impossible for him to lift it. This subtle moment underscores Loki's self-awareness and his skill in manipulating situations without openly addressing his own flaws.
Great rewatch! I actually love this movie for whatever weird reason. I’m so glad that you guys took the time to rewatch it and reflect on it afterwards. Very enjoyable!
Here come's Sam's continuing hate/love/hate/love Loki journey! Ha ha ha! I like this movie a ton and IMO always underrated bc of how the main villain was underutilized. And yes, Jane being the only one on Earth to find the Ether was ridiculous. That said, the rest of it is pretty great. And as you, Kristian, Coy, Winston, myself, and many others have noted, rewatching them, and seeing her 1ST TIME POV, brings us all back to hen we first saw them. And after this, man, the MCU goes off the charts!!!!!!!!!!!
Harloff you do a good job at not giving any hints and clues away .. I’ve been watching to see if you hint at anything but you don’t lol good job good job lol
55:25 yes thank you! I’ve been meaning to comment that I really hope you tackle some of the shows that are definitely more critical like Wandavision and Loki S1 and S2 at the least !! Love the reactions as always !!
To be honest that was true with all Thor movies the earth characters like Jane and her gang were just plain boring to me and i didn't miss them at all in the next movie.
Lmao saving Thor’s girlfriend is enough to redeem a guy who almost destroyed NY with so many casualties 😩🤦🏾♀️?? Sometimes when ppl want you to like a character so bad they don’t really think things through. It’s interesting the guy almost influenced her in to liking Loki without really directly telling her she should 😩. The way he highlights anything that can paint Loki in a positive light and double checks if that impacted her feelings is hilarious. It’s would be cool if he left the repeated questions about Loki alone after she kept saying she liked the actor but not the character.
I'm one of the few who very much prefers this one over the first Thor movie, especially on repeated watch. the Thor-Loki dynamic absolutely makes this movie. bit of a shame they didn't do more with Malekith. Chris Eccleston is a _fantastic_ actor. He played the 9th Doctor in Doctor Who and easily one of my top 3 Doctors.
Loving these. Sam is great. Love watching the reactions to someone who has never seen these movies (which blows my mind because how big some of these were at the box office).
It's funny how even the MCU movies that aren't as good as most like this one seem better on rewatch when you know where the story and characters end up with Endgame. ✌🏾✌🏾
I'm loving this. While one of my least favorite MCU Movies, this is my favorite reaction so far 😂😂😂 The roller coaster that Sam's emotions were on cuz of Loki had me ROLLING!!! 😂
COMPLETELY agree with your assessments of this film. I've always liked it. It's VERY key to future story plots and the twists are fun. And while some of the criticisms are fair it's way too underrated IMO. Sam's reaction to this film is perfection. Watching her journey is the best. And I back her on her rankings. I enjoy this film more than Ironman 3 as well.
I have never really had a problem with this movie. I liked it then, and I still do. It's even better with your humor, Kristian. 😂 Also, I think the best answer for "where are the Avengers right now?" is just to assume that the events of Iron Man 3, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Marvel's Agents of Shield are happening concurrently with these events.
Funny you mentioned SHIELD, because the very first episode of "Agents of SHIELD" started in the aftermath of THOR Dark world where they show up and confiscated Alien technology that got left behind.
Every time I rewatch this movie, it grows on me a little more. The villain and story isn’t spectacular, but the characters and relationships are great. The jokes and the charm hit too. I said this before I got to the end. We seem to be on the same page.
First, I really like this movie. It tends to get shit on or worse not even remembered lol. Loki is like my second favorite marvel character. Second, I think Sam is awesome. But, she's just a friend not the wife? I appreciate that you two aren't overly chatty during the movie.❤
Sam's reactions are great! Would be such a great experience for her being able to see the outcomes so quickly between films. Compared to waiting years not knowing will happen with Loki and others etc.
Thanks for the upload Kristian! Love this rewatch and it’s so fun seeing Sam react for the first time while also having you there. Thanks for everything! Can’t wait for winter soldier
Supposedly, Natale Portman was not available for the kiss on the balcony & that is actually Chris Hemsworth's wife Elsa Pataky & the smile image was from another scene that they placed over Elsa's face right before. Similar to how, in the Crow, they placed Brandon Lee's face on the stunt double in the window scene after Brandon died.
I’ve always enjoyed this movie, largely because Loki is one of my favorite characters. I like the Shakespearean family drama, and I think the score is actually one of the best in the MCU.
I liked this movie when I first saw it, and I've liked it even more since I've seen all the other Infinity Saga movies because it has some very important elements that pay off later.
At 38:57 you'll notice they've mentioned the impact the ether has towards our reality. I won't say anymore but I love all the subtle nods. I hope you paid attention to what the ether does to malekith. Look at how he was able to bend the reality of how big he is. Very interesting... 🤔 Great reaction.
I think a lot of the Marvel projects if they don't hit on the first watch, they always hit a little bit better on the rewatch. I think that's because they cleverly put in a lot of retroactive context and continuity that makes it fit into the bigger MCU puzzle and also the Marvel likes to diversify the use of Chekhov's Gun. And this movie does elevate Loki to a new status since the Avengers film. Can't wait for you guys to watch the Loki series. Keep up with the great reactions. I love this MCU rewatch.
Psyched for the next two. Love WS, and GotG are absolutely my favorites. Can't wait to see Sam's reaction to them! And I like this one. There are plenty, even in the first three phases, that I like less than TDW. But I've always attributed that to being a fan of Thor & Loki from the comics, so I've a soft-spot for their dynamic starting from here.
Y’all are right about most of this. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty good. Tom Huddleston really pushes it from being meh to being quite enjoyable. I think this movie suffers from its placement in the release order. Everything else around it was a banger, so this is one that people remember as being less than the best.
I need to see the next I'm invested in this reaction series with Sam to the MCU I absolutely love seeing her reactions and you are great at not giving things away while letting her take it all in !
A fun fact about this movie. This was the movie Patty Jenkins was supposed to direct and write but Ike Perlmutter didn't want a female director or villain was supposed to been Hela.
@willistodd9 no on the director . She has said multiple times that the script was a mess and as a female director she wasn't given that many shots at director credit she couldn't be associated with a stinker.
I think this movie gets better for me whenever I do revisit it. Not great, but much better than some of the stuff we get in phase 4 and 5. Loving the reactions, can't wait for Winter Soldier!
Sam's love/hate rollercoaster with Loki during this movie was absolutely wild and hilarious 😂
Her disdain for Loki, I would love to see her reaction to the series 1 & 2, seeing him as the hero
Her journey from hating to loving Loki is so insanely pleasant to watch. This series is my NUMBER ONE RUclips series.
Sam's reactions to Loki imo means we have to see her reaction to the series
I wouldn’t mind if they watch the shows after they catch up. 🙏
Wait until Sam sees how wild the Loki rollercoaster gets…
He is burdened with Glorious Purpose and all
@@Zachfive oh she gonna love the loki series
I just realized that the next watch for Sam is Winter Soldier. Oh she’s going to lose her fucking mind!
Sam's reaction when Loki is revealed as Odin. LOL
@@bradburrick I died 🤣
R.I.P. Ray Stevenson.
Watching Sam's reactions to Loki is the highlight! You got to get her see the Loki series.
Looking at this movie, it’s definitely not best but the Hemsworth and Hiddleston dynamic was really amazing all through the MCU. I hope they get a reunion
Winter Soldier is one of the best movies in the MCU. She is going to love it.
The banter between you two is priceless. Another great upload. Looking forward to the next
I am so hyped up to see the Winter Soldier. It's still gotta be in the top 5 MCU movies. Total pivot from everything before it, ESPECIALLY the first Cap movie.

can't wait until sam sees that first infinity war scene and then loki s1!
these videos are my favorite thing on youtube rn. going thru the mcu with a new viewer in sam brings so much nostalgia...good stuff guys
you both have become my fav reaction pair now, I literally shrieked when I saw a new upload. 🤣
I can't wait till the next reaction, glad we are getting 2 a week! Keep up the good work!
I don’t envy having to rank these. Best I could do is tiers. Really enjoying these rewatches and Sam’s perspective. Good stuff.
Great rewatch! I actually love this movie for whatever weird reason. I’m so glad that you guys took the time to rewatch it and reflect on it afterwards. Very enjoyable!
I love these watch alongs so much!!!
Thank you for doing these! Cheers
Dark World have one of the best OST in the MCU. The music is so epic
I'm having so much fun watching with you guys 😂

I think it says a lot about Kristian that someone as cool as Sam is friends with his nerdy ass.
Hahha thanks?
@TheKristianHarloff 🤷
Emphasis on the question mark 😂
hey I’m Ryan I have a movie request Austin powers international man of mystery and if you can please wear leather gloves for the movie
LMAOO
I always laugh during the big escape Jane just passes out right out of the scene so that we can get some quality Thor and Loki alone time.
Haha
To be honest that was true with all Thor movies the earth characters like Jane and her gang were just plain boring to me and i didn't miss them at all in the next movie.

Man. Loving this series. Makes me appreciate the movies more. Oh boy , the NEXT 2 MOVIES I CANT WAIT FOR SAM’S REACTION
These vids are just the best frfr
Levi was in talks for the role in Thor 1, but then CHUCK got renewed. Josh Dallas was supposed to come back for 2, but ONCE UPON A TIME got renewed

Cool Thor the dark world has been an underappreciated entry of the mcu I really like it for the more serious tone

Love your friendship and now we're getting into the meaty part of the mcu. Next vids are going to be so great!

7:12 love the “pause it” remarks can’t wait for Sam to see Thor: Love and Thunder to see her “pause it” reaction.
i love these please keep doing them . 🤣
Man cant wait for the next vid these getting better every video
Her reactions to these films are awesome, but I love that she "gets" Loki! I feel the same way. This film felt more like a Loki vehicle then Thor!
I never noticed how much that factory scene was like the Animatrix episode Beyond
I love your Reactions! I crack up laughing every single time! 😁🍿

Yeah it was never a popular movie of the MCU, but it's actually my favorite Thor movie
Sam and you together are hilarious love the cut ups and jokes
Here we go again. Good times.
Hugely underrated
Also, this film is why Thor 4 is good, because it sets up that all father Thor is where Thor is headed(ends in the fourth one.)
Rewatching Thor movies after Loki Series is just pure pain 😪

This is my favorite series right now you guys are great! Sam is a superstar and you guys are so funny together! Love it
Man just wait until Sam gets to the tv show, Loki. It will be hilarious watching her totally fall for him and root for him.
When she watches the Loki show she is gonna love Loki
Loki could not have taken the hammer when he was pretending to be Odin, even if Thor handed it to him.
In the comics curse is two times the strength of Thor, that's why he was able to bat away mjolnir and beat him bad.
I also really enjoyed this movie the first time i saw it and the rewatch provides little easter eggs.
