Hey guys, I know everybody’s anticipating this one. Make sure you comment like and check out our other reactions as this is Sam’s first time watching the MCU!
I know from listening to your show that it was going to be difficult to get this and Dark World out. I think I speak for us all when I'd like to thank both you and Sam for getting them done. I'm snowed in today and watching both has been a great way to still laugh and have fun and keep my mind off of things. Love these MCU reactions so much. Thanks again!
This became my #1 the day I saw it in theaters, taking Iron Man out, and since then, there was a minor battle with Infinity War but WS came back to my #1. Iron Man is my #3. Used to be 2 before Infinity War, and sometimes I go back and forth on the 2nd and 3rd spots. Lol.
This film raised Captain America's profile in the MCU. I lost count of how many people became a Captain America fan after watching this. The Winter Soldier was on the next level shit like The Dark Knight!
This movie is a banger. Nobody expected it to be this damn good before release. Now, it's highly regarded as one of the best superhero movies of all time.
Iron Man started the MCU. This movie kicked it into over drive. Those first films were all fine and Avengers was good, but this movie was that turning point where the movies got a big quality boost and went mainstream, giving us the MCU phenomenon that lasted until End Game.
Props to you Kristian for not revealing a thing to Sam. The amount of moments where someone fake dies or Sam says something that you can’t respond to, and you don’t show even a hint of what’s to come. Her experience of this is bringing us all back together as to why we love this series.
Whats fun about these reactions is watching sam’s brilliant first time reaction and also kristian’s faces of anticipation just before big moments. This is currently my favourite rewatch series on RUclips
This movie is so good because they gave Steve more depth through Bucky. Because Steve reached a point where his entire environment became unreliable: Shield, Natasha, Nick, Sharon, Rumlow. And he felt adrift until he discovers that his best friend (and the only person he considered his family in his previous life) is now alive, being a villain raised by Hydra. Now he has a clear motivation: to get him out of that place by going beyond his ideals and leaving his shield (which is the greatest symbol of his heroism) to show that he prioritizes people, not his title of hero.
Huh never thought about it this way. But that's exactly why I get so angry when [spoiler] compares his friendship with Steve to the friendship of Steve and Bucky. There can never be a comparison. Bucky was always there for Steve, he saved him from all the fights he couldn't finish, he took him in and took care of him when his mom died... "Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky"... How can that compare to [Spoiler] and Steve's tentative friendship?! It can't ever compare...
Thanks! This is something so special, sir. I am here for every single one . Yourself and Sam are the best team now for reactions. She is so genuine . She really is reacting the way so many people and fans did. Its a testimote to the care they took creating this franchise. Lets hope they can get it back. I am such a fan, so to see this through Sam is amazing. ...oh and I will predict that rocket will be Sam's favorite. Thank you
One of my favorite Dad Moments - In the Theater... my son's reaction at about 7 yrs old as the mask comes off and the moment the Winter Soldier turns around... **gasp** 😳🤯 So much fun guys!! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride!!
GSP is without a doubt one of the best fighters ever from the UFC not only because of his fights but also because of the way he carried himself outside the ring.
This movie was my biggest surprise movie. I didnt watch the first captain America until this was coming out, I liked him in the avengers, but I was like 13 when it came out and it looked boring, so I watched it as this was coming out and thought yeh its okay but not great. Then went to the cinemas with my sister and we walked out like holy shit, wtf did we just experience 😂 this movie put cap at the top, the action, the espionage, the plot twists, the heart, it was just so fucking good, and cap being able to sprint through walls and kick people 20m just looked fucking insane. As an older person now, the first avenger sits with higher regard for me now with rewatches, I think I just wasnt old enough to appreciate it at the time I feel like Kristian is pranking Sam with the rankings, hes waiting for her to be like "can we wait til the end this is getting fucked"
34:55 I remember vividly watching this in the theater and 2 teenaged girls were sitting in front of me. They both gasped out in surprise and said, "OMG OMG that is his hot best friend from the first movie!" It was at THAT moment I knew that the MCU was gonna break all types of box office records going forward. The 4 quadrant general audience formula was completed. The entire general audience was hooked on this long form story Marvel had put together..... ✌🏾✌🏾
Haven't even watched it yet, but man on man. I love this movie. It's fascinating to watch this from the standpoint of somewhat that doesn't know the ID of the Winter Soldier.
Senator Stern was Hydra, that's why he wanted the "Iron Man Weapon" for the US, or should I say wanted it for Hydra. Also, the Hydra part of the council wanted or convinced the rest of the council for a nuclear strike on New York, and a Hydra pilot tried to carry it out. Then, Hydra killed off Tony's mom and dad to hush him up. They've been pulling the strings behind the scenes in the MCU since day one... love it!
Best of all the MCU. The only flick that feels like a Bond or Bourne movie. Most MCU movies feel exactly like what they are, comic movies. Winter Soldier hits different
I try to watch every KH show, but I never miss one of these reactions. You two make a great team. This is top 3 Marvel films. Looking forward to the reaction.
Please Sam continue with other franchises !!! Loving your reactions to all of these and can't wait for these reactions to expand to more movie IP's !!! Great work Kristian & Sam keep up the great work !!!
It's no surprise that Cap is violent considering he is literally a WWII veteran. He has no problem picking up a gun and blowing folks away if he chooses to.
Long as its justified @ blowing people away. A-lot of people seem to think he has a no kill policy like Batman. Nope. That man has bodies but again if they were justified.
@@williamdean4775 that and for some people they have this mindset that if a character is a superhero they don't kill. That is SOOOOO not true. Tony Stark alone had a decent body count in the MCU.
This is the movie where Cap turned from anachronistic dork to absolute bad ass. His origin was great. Better in retrospect: as MCU has gotten crazier & more filled out, it’s a throwback like Cap is. Then his costume was the worst part of Avengers; one that’ll get callbacks later. Then this. And dude. This remains one of the very best and I never get tired of it. Side note: I think the title is heady. Winter Soldier refers to American soldiers in the 70s who stood up for American ideals during a time when the govt wasn’t willing to do so. During Vietnam. Making Cap a winter soldier himself.
Might be my third most watched MCU movie. Absolutely love it! Also I didn't know Kristian read enough of the comics to know characters like WInter Soldier. Dope!
Seeing Sam’s reaction to this one reminds me of how fire this was the first time I saw it. After Thor 2, the change up to the formula of how these movies go absolutely rocked me.
Agree with kristian and sam. This movie is still so good! Dang, I hope the mcu you do this quailty again in the future! I'm looking forward to the next one!
Enjoy! I’m bummed about the guardians of the Galaxy reaction. We recorded the whole thing and then about an hour and 45 minutes into it. It said the file was corrupted, so we only got the very end but I at least have Sam’s review.
I was HEAVILY invested in the MCU at this point and was at the cinemas weekend of EVERY release.. I was a marvel fan but casual, and was more of a Spider-Man fan than anything so the Winter Soldier reveal blew me away. Im still not sure How I avoided spoilers and billboards revealing who it was, I'll Never know lol. But, this movie remains my 1st or 2nd favourite all-time MCU movie amd was what Truly solidified me as a Cap simp.. He's firm stance against corrupt governments and officials is why I'm ALWAYS Team Cap. "I'm not gonna launch those ships.. Captain's Orders" was the icing on the cake for me.. Dude bought a tear to my every time I watch that scene. Can't wait for her reaction to Guardians 1.. That movie remains in my top 3 alongside Winter Soldier & Infinity War and was a great watch for someone who had NO idea who they were beforehand. Keep up the great reactions.
Hi guys, great reaction to one of my all-time favorite MCU movies! I have a fun fact for you guys that doesn’t spoil anything. Kristian, you mentioned that the Winter Soldier intro music is chilling. I thought the same thing when I first heard it, and I looked into it. Turns out, the person who developed it used the audio from Bucky’s scream as he fell off the train in First Avenger, digitally reworked it, and that’s what he came up with. That just made it even more creepy for me! Keep those MCU reactions coming!
I actually thought he knew that and that's why said what he said about it but didn't elaborate so he wouldn't spoil anything... But even after the big reveal he still didn't say anything so he probably didn't know...
"I'm not launching those ships, captain's orders." My brother in law was a staff sergeant in the Marines and did two tours in Vietnam, before becoming a police officer for nearly thirty years. His son was a staff sergeant in the Air Force for twenty years and did tours in the Middle East. Two guys as far away from the comics world as you could get. One Christmas I was at their home in western Pennsylvania and when I walked into the living room, they were both sitting down watching this movie. That's how special this is.
To this day, Cap 2 is still in my top 3 favorite MCU movies. My only issue with it is that Alan Silvestri wasn't brought back to do the score, but it's still pretty much a masterpiece.
I just rewatched this the other day, I’ve seen it a million times but I was never more impressed with it than I was on this watchthrough. I was just struck by how absolutely phenomenal the action is and how it’s shot/cut. There’s a difference between shaky cam action and perfectly cut fast paced action that your brain can follow perfectly, and this movie is a perfect example of the latter. I think as Marvel fans we sometimes take for granted how good and important this movie was. I mean everybody loves it, but not counting Infinity War and Endgame, I think this is probably the most important movie in the MCU outside of Avengers 1. Hiring the Russo brothers was one of the best decisions Marvel ever made, and deciding to give them a chance to run the show after that paid off big time
For some reason Cap’s little senior citizen khaki pants crack me up in the knife fight scene. Like he got waylaid on the way to an Early Bird buffet with the other WWII vets
I love seeing people discovering these movies for the first time, it just makes me happy and draws me back to my first time in the theaters watching them. Excited to watch the rest of Sam’s MCU journey 😄
Oh man this was a great reminder of how much I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It’s so fun to get to rewatch with a newb to experience it through her eyes! I need to go back and watch the older MCU vids with you two - i feel like im watching movies with a pair of friends 😊
Btw, Cap specifically chose that outfit because he thought it would have the best chance at jogging Bucky's memory (thats what he wore when he saved Bucky in the first film)
Actually, Steve wasn't wearing that when he rescued Bucky. He was wearing his USO show shirt, a stolen helmet from one of the USO girls, fatigue trousers, combat boots, a bomber jacket, and leather gloves. He didn't get the official Captain America uniform until Stark designed it afterward.
This is my favorite MCU film. Two through ten move up and down any given day. There are just too many great moments in this with an AWESOME story. I am enjoying this ride along SO MUCH!
This is such a perfect blend of a spy/intrigue film (Borne Identity, Manchurian Candidate) and action. It is actually in my top ten films of all time (Bladerunner with Harrison Ford is and always be #1).
Just discovered you guys and I am having a blast watching you both!! The MCU is such a treasure trove of action, comedy, complex characters and great scripts. It’s hard to pick favorites but this one is in my top 5, easily. So it was especially fun seeing you both watch this. I was bummed about GOTG not working out but I’m glad you did the reactions to the after credit scenes and talked about it anyway. So I can’t wait for the NEXT, next one now.🎥🍿😁❤
Still to this day my number 1 favourite MCU movie. I don’t think they’ll ever beat this one. Just my opinion. And thank you guys so much for doing these reaction videos. It feels a little bit like reliving the excitement of seeing it for the first time ❤
Man this movie is so good. This is my number 2 MCU film, only very very slightly ahead of Endgame and Infinity War. My number 1 is actually next film, GotG. I can not wait for the reaction. Awesome stuff both y'all.
Ooooooo, this gonna be a good one with Sam knowing NOTHING about this movie! Even when I knew who winter soldier was going into the movie, the hydra twist NO ONE saw coming. Crazy
This was a great reaction.....one of the best MCU movies.....Sam's rankings are pretty spot on. When the Winter Soldier's identity was revealed in the theaters we went nuts....I was in shock. It is so great to have an authentic reaction without being spoiled and it was great to re-live that through Sam...GOTG next....see you then.

Unbelievably good film. The most grounded and cool the MCU has been. They need to rediscover this formula.
Easily top 3 Marvel. Pacing, acting, emotion, brilliant action, has everything. They don’t even come close anymore.
The Winter Soldier having his own sound effects is just badass. Reminds me of how each character in Star Wars has their own theme.

This is my favorite MCU film. Two through ten move up and down any given day. There are just too many great moments in this with an AWESOME story.
I am enjoying this ride along SO MUCH!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the ride!
This is such a perfect blend of a spy/intrigue film (Borne Identity, Manchurian Candidate) and action. It is actually in my top ten films of all time (Bladerunner with Harrison Ford is and always be #1).
Dead, alive, dead, alive Sam is not wrong haha. Great fun reaction.
So much fun rewatching!!! One of my favorite MCU films. Thank you guys!!! 🙂
You're so welcome!
So I can’t wait for the NEXT, next one now.🎥🍿😁❤
Still my fav MCU movie, I remember watching it in theaters and like this movie is so badass
It really is.
This movie is one of my favorite MCU theatre experiences. Such a great movie. Loving the reactions!
I remember watching this in the movie theater such a great experience
It really was. One of the best still.
I need to watch more reactions from this channel. This was fun. I also love Storm Shadow in the background.
Glad you liked it! We have a full playlist of the MCU rewatch is and a few others that we’ve done. We’re planning on stepping it up this year.
15:39 I have always wanted Fury to yell, “Turn on some air conditioning then!!”
Hahha
Still to this day my number 1 favourite MCU movie. I don’t think they’ll ever beat this one. Just my opinion. And thank you guys so much for doing these reaction videos. It feels a little bit like reliving the excitement of seeing it for the first time ❤
The Bucky reaction is always one of my favorites. Right up there with L _ _ _ I am your father. (don't want to spoil anything for anybody). 😄
😅
I know everyone loves this film and I do as well but I can't WAIT for Sam to watch Civil War (A true game changer). I think it might break her, LOL
Yeah I am excited to watch that one with her.
Man this one is still one of the best MCU films.
One of the best, if not the best MCU Movie! The acting, the pacing and the stakes make this movie!
Top 5 if not top 3
Kristian whats your top 3?! This one HAS to be in there!!!
easily the best movie. Also winter soldier is a cool villain it’s has more attention in the comics but this character need w Budget
Crazy
Completely agree with the Frank-fanning! I hoped I wasn’t alone in that. 😬 The stunts in the movie are absolutely top notch. Love this one. Soo much.
By far my favorite mcu the best time of my life for movies was this time. The hype after this was incredible.
Very true, lots got set up after this
@TheKristianHarloff I checked out your patreon but couldn't tell if you have full watch alongs of these on there?
This was a great reaction.....one of the best MCU movies.....Sam's rankings are pretty spot on. When the Winter Soldier's identity was revealed in the theaters we went nuts....I was in shock. It is so great to have an authentic reaction without being spoiled and it was great to re-live that through Sam...GOTG next....see you then.
This movie and the tie in it has with the "Agents of Shield" tv show is just peak cinema.
