Thanks for the guide. Though I tweaked the routing and item pick ups a little. Found the Carian Knight Sword a worth while pickup along with going to Selia town of sorcery for Night Comet and Staff of Loss for better ranged options. Also made steps for Ranni’s quest so I could get Moonlight Greatsword early and hunted down the somber stones. Also grabbed all the graces along the way as well as any golden seeds and sacred tears in the areas. 9 hours in I have a full mage build going already, maxed weapon, nearly maxed staff and all the best spells and some good fashion souls going on lol. By far my most powerful start to a game. Both weapon picks melt bosses and night comet cheeses npc invaders and picks off birds and such with ease. One shots a lot of early game enemies as well.
Doesn't getting the greatsword require you to get to the nokron which requires you to kill radahn if I am not mistaken. I don't know if I will consider killing radahn early tbh.

after u have ran past the dragon on the bridge if u turn left instead of right theres another group of sarcophagi but also another tower with a memory stone, just use the torrent to either jump onto the roof above the low balcony to ur right or aim towards the site of grace and jump at the left side of the tower with a another jump at the apex to land on the walkway where the inside lift stops, up the outside steps to a room with the memory stone in a chest edit: if u went into fort faroth for the soreseal u wouldnt need to put that 1 point into strength for the morningstar
Nice build, had not thought about leveling Int so quickly to use Carian staff. If you are going for a slicer build, I recommend running over to the jellyfish shield in the lakes area since you are there and put some more states into strength. It gives a 20% buff on top of the 15% with the staff slicer (and other spells as well. Cheese the dark knight on the bridge or just kill the big dragon a second time. Even more OP and you have a block option if things get intense.

One thing I would add, is running down into Soifra to grab Marikas Soreseal for the extra stats. 10% extra dmg taken early game basically isn't even noticeable

This is a pretty fantastic route. I could be wrong, but it feels like Carian Slicer needs more hits than normal to build up Winged Sword boosts? Which is annoying so Ive always preferred Green Turtle Talisman for my beginner slot. It's also worth noting that even without Rock Sling, the Meteorite Staff is so mucu stronger than any other staff until high upgrade levels and you can always offhand the Carian Staff for the boost. That being said, its a little out of the way and everyone uses it, so i understand leaving it out. Either way, well done! Carian Slicer > Rock Sling any day :))
haha appreciate it. I think it only takes 2 swings for carian slicer to start proc'ing the talisman but it does take a few more to get the full effect going

I think since your sorceries scale with intelligence, you could go solely intelligence and be fine, but if you do want to add some strength in there to wheeled certain weapons, you’re more than welcome to do that as well

That is up to you. I get you to a point where U can pretty much kill anything mid game with little problem. I Would head to raya lucaria and get some of the talismans there

Id say this only good for spellblades but for pure mages like me not so much. Most of it is still useful, but there are other steps needed for the pure mages.

While I appreciate the idea of doing something different, maybe you should put something towards the beginning of the video, or even in the title, because when I think INT build, I think mage build. I spent hours following this guide only to realize it was a spellblade build and not a caster build... I struggled hard to get this going, and I barely managed to kill the minor erdtree boss towards the end of the guide. In fact, I killed him as I died, after like 15 attempts. It was super rough as a somewhat new player. I guess I need to be more careful from now on. I feel like I wasted my time and should start over and follow a different guide. >.< At least the stats are still decent for a normal mage.

God coming off of a strength build and into a magic build is such a tough skill check I'm not used to having to dodge everything

You can't upgrade meteorite staff, I don't know if that's new or what, but you can't upgrade it with smithing stones.

Start with astrologer anyways, 790ish times to put 1 lvl into dex to use the flail on the dragon. I find that easier and faster overall

Depending on your final build Prisoner has better optimisation for melee hybrid build while Astrologer is more pure Intelligence.

If u pull him away from the orcs behind the tree you are good to go. Also the moveset is VERY easy to learn, there are only about 4 attacks he does
