Couple things for the guide. 1) when you were in the weeping peninsula, you should have killed the beetle to get the poison mist spell. 2) use the wind tunnel to jump up into lenne's rise and get the memory stone. 3) get the village of albinauric's site of grace and medallion half when getting the trina's lillies since you are right there. 4) after getting somber smithing stone 6 in volcano manor, jump down and up the ladder. go to the end and jump onto the adjoining ledge. avoid the lizard dude and run into the building and get the site of grace. 5) either time you go to fort Haight, get the dectus medallion. 6) grab staff of loss after lighting first fire. Super good for night comet builds
Your path to get into volcano manor to get the somber smithing stone 7, I never took. I always dodge rolled through the lava. Didn't even know that path existed. Great info. My post isn't to criticize but just to add some helpful info of things to do while you are already at certain places. Simply because for the most part you are already there and it will be helpful later or because you won't be coming back there and If you look up an item and find out you could have already gotten it, it's kinda frustrating.

      @McWarlord 9 дней назад +1

@@xperrosinsangrex when lighting the first fire in selia when you climb the tree root. Instead of just jumping off you can jump to the building opposite the ladder and the staff of loss is there

At the 20 minute mark, where you kill the Night's Rider, there is a Rise there with a really easy to grab memory stone. Not sure why you ran right past it. Another thing I would suggest is grabbing Night Comet and the Staff of Loss while in Sellia. The spell Night Comet is behind the barrier that you opened when you lit the three flames. So you already did the work to get it, I would 100% grab it. And you literally walked past the Staff of Loss without picking it up. Why grab these two items? Because Night Comet is basically Comet but it is invisible... which means enemy AI won't dodge it. Night Comet is one of the most powerful spells in Elden Ring PVE. You can miss with Comet, as bosses and enemies will dodge it (resulting in DPS and mana loss). They won't dodge Night Comet, though. And why grab the Staff of Loss? Because it boosts the damage of Night Sorceries by 30%... which is huge. And you don't even have to upgrade the Staff of Loss. Just have it in your off hand while you cast with your main staff. Just having the Staff of Loss in your off hand will give you 30% more damage with Night Comet, a spell that pretty much never misses.
After doing all this, the next step would be to get a Moonveil Katana. Once you pull that off, the game is super easy mode. And you can get the Moonveil to +4 pretty easy by buying the stones from the Smith in the Lakes.

Managed to kill Godskin with no sleep (for those who dont want to use or ran out) and level 3 jelly (for those who want to save for other spirits). Here are my suggestions.
First, with a 2/7 flask setup, you can kill the guy outside with 3 charged comets and drink a flask. (You want him dead so you can summon jelly in middle lane without getting hit from behind).
Second, prebuff, enter room and summon jelly.
Three, you have enough mana for one shot, if he is walking, charge it. If he is running, fast fire. In both cases, get ready to dodge his orb.
Fourth, chug a mana flask and if things work out, the jelly will pull aggro. QUICKLY run around opposite so he is between you and jelly. Now, this is important: do not charge your shots. You got enough flask to kill him with rapid shots. Your goal is to hit him fast so he runs to you. Then the jelly will shoot his back and pull him off you. By doing this, you increase effective health of your summon.
Five, while he hits half health, hit him 3 more times then keep a pillar between you and him. If done correctly, he will boulder roll on it and get stuck. You can safely drink a flask if needed behind pillar while he dies slowly to poison.
Six, when roll ends, try to get him to aggro jelly again and repeat with fast shots. He may roll again so be ready. Remember, he will die slowly with poison so rolling is great for you if he is stuck.
If done correctly, he should die before your energy finishes. (Just don't miss like crazy).

Really appreciate the guide brother. You explain it in full detail very well within an hour : ) New to elden, and with limited gaming hours after work this guide has been a great start to get my foot in the door and in the right direction, much appreciated. Chiseled away over a couple nights of post work decompression and straight nuclear as I gain a feel for Elden's mechanics. Suggestion/request (please do not take this as a complaint or nagging, way too many people take guides for granted and i'm not one that does) but maybe pause an extra second or two on the map pins... find myself double/triple/quadrupling back to pause the vid and place those pins on some of the segments. Very thankful of the help you've provided and just constructive criticism for you there is all : ) Keep on and game strong!

Oh my gosh.. I want you to know I bought the game because of your guide, and followed it to a tee up to the Godskin fight. I really struggled but kept at it and kept at it but kept dying. I slowly started running out of sleep pots. I was down to my last two pots, and managed to kill him. Such an exhilarating moment, but I want you to know that I was fully prepared to start a new character and run through the whole thing again to get more lily’s which I think is a testament to your guide.
For anyone else struggling with the fight, what I did was enter right away and move to the right and use Golden vow (with the dagger) and my magick flask (like the guide suggests). However I did not cast my jellyfish, but stood behind the pillar and waited for him to come to me. Once he was almost to me, I either dodged or sprinted to the opposite end of the arena depending on what attack he used. Once I got to the altar area, I then cast my jellyfish in the middle of the carpet and ran behind a pillar on the left side. I found it is a lot easier to hit him down by the altar since you don’t have to worry about your comet hitting benches or candles, it’s a much more open area. I waited for the squid to take aggro and then cast one comet. I then used my FP flask to get to full, and then ran to the middle of the arena on the carpet so I was facing his back, and he was facing my squid (and the altar). I hit him with three comets, but it’s tricky because you don’t want to pull aggro after the second comet or else he will charge you. You want to hit him in the middle of his AOE slam which slows him down so you can get off the third comet. You also need to be close enough to be within range to hit him with a sleeping pot. After sleeping him, I would hit him with two fully charged comets (in the guide you said 3 but he always woke up after 2, I’m not sure if that’s because the jellyfish was also adding damage) and then tried to back off enough to hit him with a third and then sleep pot again. You really need to be able to chain sleep pots a lot quicker then I realized. What brings the run to an end immediately is if he does his rolling attack, so if he starts that just abandon the run and run it back.
Thank you again for such an awesome guide. I plan on finishing up now and then starting back at the beginning to run through quests. I really appreciate your time and energy!

    • @MrSmithwayne
      @MrSmithwayne 3 месяца назад

this start completely worked for me, I also was down to like 10 lilies left and I was getting very frustrated. What was killing me was his rolls, I finally got him on a time when he decided to throw his spells instead and hit him with 3 pots, the last one finally got him with 3 full powered up staff bolts. If you wait to replenish your manna or wait to send a pot at him often times he gets to close and your facing a rapier in your face which totally throws off your play and you have to dodge and roll. Buff at the right side after the entrance, let him come to you, run left then along the pillars, get to the altar, cast your summon, wait for him to come and dodge if he throws spells, run right then get behind him as he engages the summon, use your manna pot before you start casting because you only have one charge left after your buffs. Dodge any spells and rinse and repeat. If he does a that roll just let him kill you and start over. Its not worth trying to dodge that.

Great guide, first play through setting myself up for success, as a first timer it has taken me 4 hours and I'm about to light the fires at the academy. So his video is a one hour guide but for first time players I'd say closer to a 4-6 hour.

RE: the mt gelnir/volcano smithing stone...took me multiple tries to get all the jumps right. then at the very end i found out you can just run around the building where the stone is located and there's an incline you can run up and just get there directly--i didn't need to do any of that parkour stuff at all. 😭 for the minor erdtree, if you want to one-shot the minions, best to be INT 51 or better if you can. you may need to run around to avoid the tree's missile attacks. the rot erdree fight went really easy for you because for whatever reason, he retreated and didn't attack--every single attempt, the tree was 100% aggressive. Could not land any hits because I was too busy running away. The cast time is generally too long without a summon to buffer you.

One very common beginner mistake I’d love to see a RUclipsr cover for all the new players coming in with the DLC: stop putting 1000 different things on the D pad with your flasks. Lol I literally put health and mana flasks down there. That’s it. You can put your physic in your pouch and access it by holding triangle. This will save you much-needed seconds to pop off an opportunistic heal during a Boss fight, instead of having to finger blast the D pad 1000 times to cycle to the right flask while a spastic boss is unloading on you with infinite stamina.

I mean, it is good to KNOW all these things and I'm actually following you step by step with a new character, however, shouldn't we also play a little? By the time I pointed out, the character is strong enough to tackle for example all of Limgrave, dungeons and the like before going on. Otherwise, if we come back to do Limgrave after going through all your guide it is going to be boring. What I mean, your guide could include intermissions where it is recommended at this point you should do this and that area, you are now strong enough to take on Mirgit and Godrick, etc. Also to level up a little?

Thank you so much for this I was trying to follow a scythe build but they weren't in depth (I'm a new player) and they skipped over major elements like gear imbuing and what weapon to level along with being hard to follow as a newer player. Instant subscribe for me, we appreciate your hard work!

Soooo excited to try this once I beat the game with the samurai bleed build from your other video. At the academy now and haven’t encountered a single thing in the game that has given me any resistance so far. These and your eso builds are total lifesavers for someone like me that is terrible at games 😂

So I bought the game two years ago and only played it once for 20 minutes and just kept dying, then stopped playing it. I saw your video and gave it another try. Thank you so much for the guide. I am really enjoying the game and can’t wait to beat the game so I can start the DLC.

Thanks for the fantastic video! ❤ Had taken my original character into NG+ but then never went far in the second playthrough… so wanted to start a new character and work up to the DLC. Your guide was brilliant to get up to speed. And now with some additional travels, a bit of “help” from creepy Varre, and some farming near good old Mohg, am finally in the Land of Shadow 🎉

I have to say it. until i tried Astronomer I was struggling with Elden Ring. Finding your step by step guide was / is so amazingly helpful. Thank you so much. Love your content. The Ancient Tree was a complete nightmare until I ran round his massive tree and pot shotted him lol. Soon died. Struggling with the Fat Dude in the Volcanoe Manor but, heh, I'll get there. Thank god for the sleeping potions.

Nice guide overall, a few things, though:
1.) At the very beginning I should it should be mentioned to be able to get runeson Lennes Rise, when dodging the metal ball, each doge will net 1952 runes, so might be handy to buy some items at the beginning or get some much needed early level ups.
2.) The Knight Cavalier is very hard to beat, I actually was able to lure him off the cliffs much better, on the side of the bridge where you start off and lure him to the cliffs on the right, its fiddly but works.
3.) The putrid tree avatar is very difficult, even with your tactic, I found to often "exit" the fight and use the wind tunnel to jump up in the air "resets" the enemy to its location, so you can hit it 1-2 times and exit the fight, much easier.
4.) Also the white dragon: if done right, you can farm him several times! Make a backup save of your save file, before you try. Clobber the white dragon, as described, when he is very low, hop onto your horse and keep hitting the dragon. when the dragon dies its tail flaps or you can see that the hit bar disappears, immediately run to the grace and rest. You get all the runes, but the dragon is back alive in the background !
5.) Also, when in Raya Lucaria, after the bridge, drop down (Pillar with sat down undead") and you can find the Carian Knight armor, looks nice and very good beginner armor. You will still retain medium equipment load.

When you get inside of Minor Erdtree Catacombs, if you're of a mind too, you can go outside, turn left, crouch and sneak until you see the baddie and fire TWO Rock Sling spells and immediately run back to SOG. He will calm down and return to his post. Rinse and repeat until you get your two Crystal Tears.

Would be 1 hour in real life if I were in the hyperbolic time chamber! Nevertheless still 101% helpful guide for mage builds having a hard time playing early game content a la cookie cutter with very limited firepower and find themselves stuck, and without having to use the dectus lift too which is great. My personal advise for starters who try this guide is don't rush everything, try to explore a bit of each place while you're at it (like grab some of those +INT helms in the academy) and don't worry about dying a couple of times as long as you touch a nearby grace and don't hold on to a lot runes when running around. Have fun and don't try to finish everything in one hour!

SO! There is a very easy way to get that somber smithing stone 7 at the end that requires no boss kill. It does require you to quit the game while it’s loading at a correct time but go look up the farum azula skip if you want to get it. You get the bearing and can buy as many 7s and 8s as you want

The boss by the tree for the last big bunch of runes is a royal pain. I've done it prob 30 times and best i got to was 25%. I changed my strat to use the rock sling until the jelly was dead then i switched to glinting pebble. It does about half the damage but its twice as fast so i was able to prick the guy to death. Was so excited about killing him i almost forgot my rune buff

well even with weapon 6 + bubble tear and 15 vigor you can kill Black Blade Kindred and get 90k runes as well. Dragon on the bridge in caelid has the same destiny. You just need to accept that this is one/two shots playthrough. I don't use summons and yesterday killed Mogh and ended up in DLC with level 95 that is insane. In my first playthrough I went to DLC after finishing the main game and being level 200+. But when you come to Mogh your weapon is level 10 already. I don't do hitless run but accepted that every mistake sends you to the grace.
