    This was one of the best videos I have seen in reference to using maps and contour lines. It makes more sense now. Thank you so much for keeping us educated. It makes fishing a lot more fun. I do try to go out and practice what you teach when I can.

    Excellent video Gene! If you are planning on fishing a new lake in the future, it could be a great opportunity to do a similar video breaking down the “high percentage” areas of the lake. Then, either in the same video or a follow up video, show us your day on that lake and any adjustments you made once seeing it in person. Thanks for all the help!

    Thanks for instruction on using the Topo map to narrow down prime fishing locations, and explaining why those areas attract fish.

    This is one thing that I have struggled with when it comes to finding fish. I live an hour away from Allatoona West point Lake and Lake Wadowee I’ve fished all of them except Allatoona so thanks for showing me where to fish whenever I go there ! Haha

    Great video as always fluke, you should do a video on some common mistakes beginning anglers make as well as novice anglers, also another idea is why it is a good idea to branch out and use baitcasting tackle if yr just getting into bass fishing

    Thanks again

    Funny you would post this today... I was just on Lake Mohave practicing how to read the points I can see (I don't have a fish finder -- yet!) and using what little I can see from Google Earth to try to extrapolate good fishing spots. Your mapping software would make it a LOT easier, but I'm just starting out and I basically suck at fishing so far -- I'll have to get a lot better before I can earn better equipment :)
    Thanks for clarifying what I should be looking for.
    p.s. Do fish finders like your have topo maps for lakes Mead and Mohave? I ask because there's not a lot available for either lake online, and the few apps that are out there show very old, incomplete data. Just curious...

    • @jasonc3522
      @jasonc3522 5 лет назад +1

      Check with your state's department of natural resources or fisheries management folks, they usually have Topo maps of the bigger lakes in the state. Minnesota DNR has mapped at least half of the lakes there and I was also able to find waterproof printed maps as well. But that was Minnesota and they are pretty serious about their fishing. Good luck and keep gridding.

    Question on types of lakes. Alpine lakes. i live in Utah and we have some real high altitude lakes here. Are those a unique category of lake? or are those going to be a combo of glacial, crater (both meteor and volcanic) and made by rivers. Does the Alpine part just refer to the altitude.

  • @rafabonati7757
    @rafabonati7757 5 лет назад

    Good mapping instruction. Check on how crater lakes in the Pacific Northwest were formed. Not from meteor strikes. This area is volcanic. The deep lakes formed when volcanoes collapsed and the resulting caldera filled with 💦. Thanks for your good teaching on fishing skills subjects. Keep it up!

    Hey fluke,
    Just an idea but maybe you could do a playlist on subscribers sending you their lake or fishing spot and you analyze them and say where you would fish and what you might use
    P.S. some lakes don’t allow boats so we would tell you the restrictions
