I used a half piece of breather or brake bleed hose under the battery terminal nuts to hold them in place while I connect the leads and the bolts into place. Plus I always make sure the battery leads are in contact with the battery terminals first and then any tender pigtail etc on top of the battery leads. Helps reduce any resistance. 👍
Good vid Steve👍 I have a yellow motobatt on my vfr and I keep it on my optimate trickle charge all the time sometimes for a month or even longer during winter. The battery is about 3yrs old now and It works perfectly but is there a time limit on how long a bike battery usually lasts? Cheers
Good advice on checking the battery before and after as well as withe the charging system is operating 👍
Cold cranking amps (cca) are the important ones...the oomph to turn the bike over..
Great to see you work and giving out good tips👍✌
That charger hanging by it's mains cord 👍🏼⚡😂

Great video as always. Handy little tester that, have you got a link as to where you got it from? Thanks.
I think a link to it is in the description
In a 12v bike battery there are 6 cells, 10.2V which means 5 of them are OK and the other is shorted out.

up to 5 years if properly maintained 👍
@@cabbage681Yeah I was thinking maybe 5 or so. Cheers fella👍
As others have said 5 years is the believed limit of battery life but I have known them to go on longer than that.
Yeh the one in my old Harley Iron head lasted a little over 6👍@@themobilemotorbikemechanic
