    If your doing this sort of thing on the cheap. Buy a cheap 5x8 steel open trailer with the drop down ramp. Install three front wheel stands upfront, preferably on a 1/8 to 1/4 steel plate to add stability and structure. Then just use the already provided strap points to strap to. Tow a single in the middle or two side by side. Make them bolt on and you can save more money only needing to buy two stands on their own steel plates and set them up according to the need. Plus can remove them completely and use it as a trailer. An open trialer is lighter and way less air drag than a closed trailer. Besides much easier to work around the bikes when strapping then down. If you got the money go for "tank straps", specifically designed for strapping to the forks of the bike so its ridgid and not on suspension parts.

    Wow! "Welds breaking and things popping off" after only 1 year seems like a big manufacturing quality issue to me. The stands seem high quality, easy to use and fit your use case and budget. Thanks for the informative video.

      I have a 2012 Aluma UT-10 that’s still as good as the day she was made.
      Welds are some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen, tie-down points (including center, flush mount swivel D-ring) are ROCK SOLID, and there’s no draw backs to these trailers.
      I’ve pulled hundreds (literally) of trailers, and worked many of them to death.
      The Aluma was the one I bought for myself, and I’ve never regretted it.
      My bike is a Ural Gear Up (800 lbs wet), and this has been the best trailer ever.
      If this guy keeps breaking trailers, maybe the trailers aren’t the problem?
      Sounds like he stands it up on its tail to fit it into his garage.
      If he is, that would explain a LOT. 😎

    Those Pitbull restraints work well in the bed of a pickup too if the bed is long enough. I've used the same system for two bikes and it really works great as Alex says.

    • @AlexLightmane4i
      @AlexLightmane4i Год назад +1

      Yes they also work in a truck bed! You can even mount the pitbull plates further forward in the truck bed. Then use the trailer restraints in front of the rear wheel, instead of behind the bike like I showed in this video

    Super cool. Wish I had invested in this stuff when I was your age. I did not flip bikes, so it would have been a good deal. Only hiccup if one is traveling long distances is weather and security of leaving your bikes exposed. Where as your former trailer provided that. As well as over night quarters should the need arise. But as a day tripper, this is superb. Used a U-Haul motorbike carrier once and a friends purpose built bike carrier and it was so much better than loading into the back of my truck(s). I eventually bought a trailer hitch motorbike carrier and that has been my best investment long term carrier option. Since it frees me up to use a truck or SUV or what ever else has a class 3 receiver. And storage of the device takes virtually no room in the garage.

      Okay but I think i want my expensive rare motorcycles on a not aluminum trailer. Aluminum is good in some aspects but a trailer isnt really where we want to see welds popping. Problem is you need a heavy trailer and so that means you need better power and brakes. And trailers gavent been super cheap lately bro. Alumunum you buy more because less strong material so you need more to get to a similar structural integrity. Would you rather combat rust or corrosion?

    Aluma C10 is $2400 plus tax, the C210 is a $6000 trailer. Then for just one Pitbull trailer restraint and pins you are looking at close to $500. I have a total of $700 tied up in a 5x10 trailer that has its own ramp, plus 3 sets of straps. And when I strap a bike down I use the rear swing arm and front axle as Bikes and Beards does. The bike does not move AT ALL. I can also pull it all with no problems with my Toyota Tacoma 4x4. There are trailers that you could have gotten that would fit in your garage that are half the price of what you paid.

      Get smaller trailer but more quality per square foot in the build quality. I know someone that bought steel trailer and owned it for years and then there was materials problems so all they had was aluminum so he sold his back to the same guy he bought it from for twice what he paid years before because people want steel trailers in the desert

    So, if I have this system and a buddy asks me to help move his bike, I have to say no or pay about $100 for pins for a bike I may never transport again? Or, I can use the same $30 straps I use for any bike.

    • @TheAnnoyingBoss
      @TheAnnoyingBoss Год назад +1

      Yes but straps suck balls bro. We need to start being honest here and admit staps are old man technology. Its like a swiss army knife, works in plenty of odd situations easily but its also a metric pain compared to rolling your bike on to the trailer and guess what youre done bro. Jf yiu move motorcycles a lot a couole hundred bucks in pins when you have a motorcycle youtube channel is nothing more than a business expense. Infact you could probably write both off as a business expense

      I think it would be cool if there was honda grom built like the rebels soley in the sense of just multiple engines to choose from. The traik. 125 is kinda rare people all over the world i dont even relate to want ine because they are scooterers and travelers on a budget etc. It sucks balls to pay 5k for a fancy scooter and its not even 6 speed and theres only 1 engine option. It makes it hard to put a bike like that in the stable when its 125cc for the same cost as a 2007 honda accord naturally aspirated v6 family sedan with 250hp that will go from san diego to miami easy peasy. 5k i mean bro it should have cruise control and multiple engine options. The rebel is cool lime that. You can get the one that gets 75mpg and isnt really for the interstate just for running around the block maybe dkwn the road, or you csm get the rebel thats 1100cc with cruise control you can go from sam diego to miami on a huge roadtrip for not too bad of price. The 125 cc grom needs to be entry level and then the top option needs to be hulk mad type grom. Hulk smash type. Give it muscles make it questionably fast.

      My R6 doesn't have a side stand. It's almost impossible to strap it down alone using regular ratchet straps. This lets me transport my bike alone very easily. And on sport bikes the fairings can make it hard to run straps and you end up pulling on and cracking plastics
