We had a furby that my dad started swearing at. This of course got the furby to start swearing at us. When my dad tried to turn it off, turns out the switch was broken. So, doing as dads do, he hurled this thing into the closet while it swore and gibbered until it died a painful low battery death. This video was absolutely killing me and revived this core memory.
Sorry to say that didn’t happen. Furbies unlocked different words over a pre determined time span. All the words they could speak were pre programmed and swear words were never written in. You sit on a throne of lies

I remember growing up with LEGOs and these really cool Transformers toys. Now modern day legos are like $60 for a 120 piece set and transformers toys are only made up of 2 parts.
The cool thing about being an early 2000s kid is that I grew up and remember life before the smart phone and tablet revolution. I played with all of this stuff growing up and didn’t really get into tablets and phones until I was 11 or 12. Nowadays I see toddlers with their own iPads and feel like an old lady when I think that parents should get children toys and portable game consoles instead.

The 90s was the video game console war decade. I was too busy trying to figure out my loyalty to Nintendo or Sega. However, my friend had a Furby and I can testify they came to life on their own even with the off-switch.
As a 2000s kid, I grew up a hot wheels fan, and I was always on the look out for Hot Wheels Monster Jam Monster Trucks like Grave Digger and Monster Mutt. I also grew up a Nascar fan and I got those too. I had a great childhood seeing the great designs from Mattel in the mid-late 2000s and the great Spin Master NASCAR diecast a from the early 2010s
I also had the" Not-agotchi" and the dinosaur lmao. 🦕 It was awesome. But ended up getting the regular Tomagotchi too, because my older sister had one. It was really fun, from what I can remember

Moreover, when we were kids, we didn't have the cochlear implants we have today that lets use hear the world, we had second-rate hearing aids that did little to help us hear (yes, both my sister and I are completely deaf without our hearing devices). So as a kid in the 90's, I couldn't imagine the kind of chatter that we put the parent's and grandparents though with our Furbies. Explains why they wanted us to keep them in the closet whenever we were not playing with them.
