I owned a 2016 BMW M3 3.0L I6 S55 with 162,000 miles on it. I've never had any major issues or titile brands put on the car. There is an issue that usually happens on PRE 2016 s55s called a crank hub issue. 2016 and up s55 cars will rarely have issues when well taken cared for. I never experienced the crankhub issue. The car is reliable if you take care of it.

Congrats on the new car. They make great dailys. The best sounding I've ever gotten mine was with AA single midpipe instead of equal length with m performance exhaust. Upgraded turbos and front mount Intakes. Best of luck with the build!

The road noise is normal on these. I rented an F82 and it had Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, and the tire noise was very loud. It was even louder than the Supra I rented several months later that had the same tires.
Mine makes suspension noise not tire noise

The difference is overblown in my opinion. Some act like the F87 is so much better and that it drives like a true BMW whereas the F80/F82 doesn’t.
I don’t know what you would prefer for your own wants and needs, but it’s hard to beat the F80/F82 for the money. Great car all around

The only way to make a S55 sound good is a single turbo kit. It's worth it.
That’s not true and it’s not even a guaranteed way to make it sound “good”.
Single midpipe, equal length exhaust or midpipe, equal length to downpipes and a y pipe, different exhaust manifolds, there are so many ways to make it sound great.
Of course sound is subjective, but there’s more to it than just single turbo.
Two different exhaust manifolds for a single turbo could sound different.

What is “better”? It will come down to the person. The F80/F82 is quite a bit lighter than the F90 and G80 and not as synthetic feeling.
It also has a dct instead of a torque converter (again, depends on the person), and so on.
So to say one is better than another is totally subjective for this discussion
