Thank you for showing how to do this on an actual item of clothing and not just a scrap piece of fabric. I was having trouble understanding how to do the fold, but this video explained it perfectly! So helpful.
This video is a gem. This is the best tutorial for blind stitching with a machine that I've seen. Your instructions were clear and understandable. Thank you for posting this.
I better understand how to sew the blind hem now that I've watched your very precise and informative video. I'd watched several other videos and they left me in awww as what they were doing. Thanks so much for the excellent instructional example. After watching I finally finished the hem on my church dress. I couldn't have done it without you.
THANK YOU! Finally someone that explained it in a simple way and showing how HOW is it, HOW supposed to be folded and also showing it in video. After 6 videos this is the one that really explains...
Best tutorial I've seen. Simple and straight forward with No useless conversation about stuff that just makes you want to fast forward or search for a different video. Im hooked, keep up the great work. You have a new student! Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this video. I started to watch about 4 others and no good. When someone wants to learn something it usually need to be taught on the garment that it is used for. Example, hemming pants, not a blind hem on a piece of fabric, but on an actual pant leg. So thank you again for this video and I learned something new with a great teacher.
Thank you! I watch this video EVERYTIME I’m about to do a blind hem, just for some reassurance that it’ll all turn out alright! #workseverytime!!! 🙌🏼 ✨
Thank you! I've watched a few tutorials about doing a blind hem and your video is the most helpful. I've learned everything about sewing online and I really appreciate your video!
Perfect explanation of how to gold back and place the hem onto the machine, alway a bit confusing for me with just a swatch example used in other videos. Thanks for using a pair of pants!
Thank you so much for the explanation, Maris! I've watched a bunch of videos on blind hemming but this is the only one which allowed me to understand how the folds work.
OMG, I get it now!!!! Lots of watching videos, reading instructions...but I get it now. This video turned the light bulb on for me. Thankyou! I am off to my machine to practice!
Thank you so much for this video. I decided it was time for me to learn how to blind stitch a hem. Your video was so easy and simple. You spoke slowly and I really needed that. Best video I’ve seen.
Thank you so much for your video. You explained perfectly how to do the folding, it was easy to understand for the ones who are not an experts on the sewing machine. 😊
Thank you so much for your video instructions. I have a sewing machine and I rarely use it, because I don't know how. My husband works for a law office and they are in court and one of the hem came apart from his suit pant and yikes he asked me to fix it. After watching your video I have confidence that I can do it. I can't thank you enough.
Thanks God for you! You're a wonderful teacher! I was having some trouble with this blind hem foot and hemming some pants. Your instructions we head on! Thanks you so much!!! Peace and blessings
Thank you for the video, you have been so helpful. My husband just ordered a suit online and when it came we realized that the pants needed to be hemmed. I keep watching your video and I'm going to practice on another piece of material to make sure that I got it. I want the hem on this suit to look professional and I think that learning to sew a blind hem is a good skill to learn. Thank you again.
Hi Maris! Thank you so much for this video. Can you believe that sewing a blind hem on my Bernina has intimidated me for years to the point that I've just done it by hand instead?? Well not anymore! This is the clearest video about this topic on RUclips and your instructions were so easy to follow. I watched it yesterday and have already hemmed three pairs of pants!
Thank You! I did it (after a few snafus). My work pants were sent to me 1/2" too long, so they were dragging and didn't feel right. After watching your tutorial a few times, I was able to do it on a sewing machine I had in my closet. This saved me from sending my uniform to the cleaners for tailoring, and I can say I did it myself on a sewing machine vs. stitching it by hand.
Hi, Thanks for the wonderful explanation. I liked that you mentioned that we should use this method for straight edges. I was curious to know if we can use the blind hem foot and stitch on curved necklines. Thanks.
After trying a lot of websites to learn how to do this I finally find one. I could not understand how to fold the material to save my life but now I do.
A very useful video which I have watched so many times. When I turn the pants around after hemming, they are puckering on the good side and it is not looking perfect. Should I play with the tension? Not sure how though... got a suggestion?
Amazing techniques, thank you! Yet I am struggling to do it, I mean when is supposed to stitch the straight stitches, the top thread doesn’t catch the under thread, although test sewing the blind hem on a piece of the same fabric comes out fine. Already tried to adjust the tension, still the same problem. I have no ideea what to adjust next.
i hate when those weird things happen to me, too. something with the tension that it keeps bunching/tangling up the threads. then i get frustrated and put the machine away. after several months, i take it out again and everything is fine again. i live by myself, so i'm convinced there's another force trying to tell me something. lmbo
Thank you. Only thing that would have been very helpful was the show what the hem foot looks like. Also would be nice to know which fabrics work best with what needles… thanks again!
This may be a silly question, but did you turn the slack inside out? I have always been afraid to try using the blind hem foot but your video makes me want to give it a try. Thank you!
Thank you for showing how to do this on an actual item of clothing and not just a scrap piece of fabric. I was having trouble understanding how to do the fold, but this video explained it perfectly! So helpful.
Is she still with us? She hasn't posted in 5 years.

Very professional. You know what you're doing. Thanks for NO annoying background music drowning out your voice.
Thank you so much for bringing us through the actual hemming of the garment. Again thanks.
Thank you! I watched and listened and this is very clear to understand. I think that I would still understand by just watching each step. Thank you.

Thank you so much, this was really helpful! 💐 I hemmed a pair of pant successfully by following your instructions.

Thank you Maris!! I have watched many of these videos and yours is the first I have actually understood! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Could not visualize this technique at all, nor did written directions help me. Maris to the rescue! Thank you! Now I understand! #:->
Very good job explaning the details of doing blind hem stitch
This video is very informative & demonstrative. She took time to really let you see what she was doing.
Could you explain how to set up the machine for the blind hem stitch, such as stitch length and width.
Thank you!!! This is the only video on RUclips I could find that actually explained this!!! Xoxo ❤️❤️❤️

Hi, Thanks for the wonderful explanation. I liked that you mentioned that we should use this method for straight edges. I was curious to know if we can use the blind hem foot and stitch on curved necklines. Thanks.
Thanks I'm going to try this. I do a lot of hemming.
Thank you for your video I have to say that it was concise and extremely helpful!
After trying a lot of websites to learn how to do this I finally find one. I could not understand how to fold the material to save my life but now I do.
Straightforward and easy to follow tutorial thank you.
Perfect demonstration. Thank you!
What foot are you using?
Thank you so much for this lesson! Other videos show pinning after you have turned the blind hem but i like your technique of pinning before!
Thank you!
Thank you so much. Always seemed like a puzzle to me.
i think i missed something, what stitch am i using and what blade are you talking about that you are lining up the material too?
A very useful video which I have watched so many times. When I turn the pants around after hemming, they are puckering on the good side and it is not looking perfect. Should I play with the tension? Not sure how though... got a suggestion?
