Super helpful for reinstalling our stairway balusters after getting new hardwood floors. Our home was built in 1910, so we're trying to save what we can from the stairway. Appreciate this video! Just purchased the fasteners from your website too.

That "double ended lag" is called a dowell screw and the other fastener is a hanger bolt or hanger screw, at least that's what we call them round here, I like that threaded insert also and am gonna use this procedure next time I do wood balusters, thanks for the video, JBD

Thank you for sharing you knowledge. I need to attach 29" legs to the bottom of the table, and was not sure if to use just 5/16" hanger bolt or to put it into some insert or teenut. May i ask what size of the nail was used, it is #18? Thank you.

How do you drill that pilot hole so it's straight? I hand drilled my pilot hole crooked and my hanger bolt ends up crooked.
