  • In this episode, I returned to the River Nith iin search of that big grayling. In the first half of the session I concentrated on fishing with the euro nymph setup for grayling, I did lose a decent size grayling after an epic battle with a big grayling. Unfortunately this was off camera but I will return to this method in a future video. After giving the euro nymph a good go, I returned to a favourite method that was very productive in my last video which was trotting the float with the centrepin reel. (Last video) River of Dreams • River of Dreams- the B...
    I had no action until the light started to fade and it was at that point I went from zero to hero and landed several grayling most of which were over 2lb in the last two hours.
    Special thanks again to Alex and Gordon ‪@angling360‬ for filming some of the footage

    Geez wizz! They´re all woppers! There must be a girder factory dumping excess iron brew into the Nith river system! Really nicely produced and fantastic content too!

      Cheers Sean, yeah there is a good head of big fish there, not vast numbers where there’s a fish a chuck but enough for a good day’s sport.

    Well done for your restrained reaction to losing the big fish so close to the net. I would've let rip with some choice expletives 🤐

      😂😂yeah it did take a bit of restraint. That’s the reason I didn’t show the lost fish on the nymph.

      @@AyrshireAlps where do you get that ticket from?

    • @AyrshireAlps
      @AyrshireAlps Год назад

      @@PiscatorUK-Fishing You can get it from Donsport in cumnock, but handiest is the wee keystore across the road from pathhead bakery in New Cumnock. Was £25 last season, assume this will be the same. Ticket covers the water right down to near enough kirkconnel Douglas, and a few other smaller waters too.

    Did you try holding the float back or was it always run through at the pace of the current ?

    • @PiscatorUK-Fishing
      @PiscatorUK-Fishing  Год назад +1

      Hi Marc, the floats I use are not that bulky so my centrepin tends to hold the float back in the flow and only speeds up near the end of the drift when there’s line on the water. My drifts are a lot slower than Alex or Gordon’s centrepin drifts. I thought it might be too slow but it’s certainly been working for me.
