Hello and thank you for your amazingly detailed video! I am not trying to discredit you in any way shape or form but I was able to do mine in a half hour without removing the Compressor. I was able to get a 14 mm quarter inch ratchet down on the lower left and the rest were easily accessible. Thank you so much for your time and showing this video.
@@waynejohnson3388 I just bought it off of eBay from the most reputable person. Honestly I couldn’t tell you if it would throw a code because I have a tuner with everything deleted. Hope it helps
I followed your video and it made the job easy. The top two long bolts that hold top of egr in were hard to get lined up because of the thickness of the plates. I installed the plates so the OEM gaskets were in the firewall side like you did in the video, but lml Mike’s video installed his on the other side of the gaskets.
If you did it the way I did then it’s right. You want to seal off the eat ayatme to the plates. Plus if it was wrk g you would hearnit. So your good. Glad the video helped out and made it easy for you.
I know this is an old video, but if you want to save yourself some headaches don't use a block off plate. You will have blown bellows eventually. Do it right and replace the Y bridge.
Other then what u unplugged and plugged back in did u have to unplug anything else from the egr system and not plug back in. Or was it just those 3 or 4 plugs that you plugged back in at the end

I was told to order a full delete pipe and solid block off plates, which seem like it will be a much large PITA as far as installation. Will the end result be the same with my setup, vs. just sliding these two plates in there?
David Wilson you will have a check engine light on which does put it into a limp mode so to speak. The system will still try to operate as normal however fuel mileage will be affected and not in a good way. Not to mention most states are checking for all the monitors to be set which if that one isn’t it will fail.
OK thank you. I was hoping I could just block it like I did my lbz. The blocker plate made the engine light come on but it ran completely fine and I stopped all that nasty exhaust from going back through the intake. I just ran the codes every time I did an oil change to double check that there wasn't any other codes, only the egr. It has been running perfect that way for years
David Wilson you will only get the EGR code but I’m not sure if it will bring up any other issues. So for what your wanting to do yes that will work. But when the check engine light is on it will make the computer think your running lean and add more fuel to the system to offset it.
Nice angles for the video but you really need to revise, and tell people not remove the two vertical bolts. It caused me more suffering than it should have and I've seen reports of people stripping those bolts out trying to get them back in .
Matthew Lucero I’m having the same problem right now and can’t get the two top bolts to line up even after I tighten the side bolts wish I didn’t take the two top bolts out!😑

Get the tune first that will allow you to delete the DPF and EGR systems. You really don't need to remove the entire EGR system. Just blocking it off is plenty unless you are going to go full race. Same thing goes for the PCV re-routing. Start with the DPF and remove the tank. Otherwise it will leak what you have left onto your frame and you will have a fuzzy mess to clean up. You can do the EGR at the same time.
I'm sorry for the late response I just now saw this. I purchased the EzLynk system with a SOTF (Switch on the Fly) 5 tune setup. I also got the 5" exhaust with no muffler. It's not loud at all. The tunes are 30, 70, 100, 150 and 200 HP. If you want to use the 200 HP I suggest getting a Fass Lift pump setup which will also help boost your HP. The tunes are made by Cory Willis which are all clean tunes. No major black smoke if any at all. They are working on the transmission tune right now which will be available soon.
Porky Yt as for extra HP I really couldn't tell because I installed the tune at the same time. Fuel mileage I went from 16.5 to 19 in town with the tune and EGR block. I also installed a 5" exhaust system.
Honest Review there isn’t a benefit to have a block off plate in the other side. You want to have the have the block off plate on the crossover side (brown plumbing). The gasket must go between the block off and EGR exhaust ports which would be the aluminum side.

randy randolph I went with the PPEI Tuner along with the EzLynk setup. It had 5 tunes that can be switched on the fly and when they update a tune you get that update.
Great job on the block off plates. I deleted the entire EGR system from my truck so I didn't touch the compressor. Very tough job nonetheless.

EGR valve bolts all torque to 18 ft lbs. so u dont need to go crazy tight :)

DirtBikeWarrior the one I'm using is a professional type but you can use a breaker bar or ratchet type wrench.

You can only do this when your tuned correct? And the tune shuts off the EGR?
Yes that is correct. Without the tune it will throw a code and put it in limp mode. Which means no power.

Did you delete the DPF / DEF too? Or just EGR
Yes, I removed the DPF/DFE and installed a straight 5" exhaust system from the turbo down pipe with no muffler.
