Beautiful when young, mysterious when older. Notice all her pictures, her face looks so different ! Her singing was special !

As a kid, she was always a favorite singer of mine.

She Hated Streisand? Good for her. Like her even more now.
She was so damn beautiful, never saw these old photos. I don't find her sad at all; she had a huge success. It comes with a cost and she paid it.

George Putnam used to speak of Peggy often on his program. He was very fond of her.

"Why Don't You Do Right," with Benny Goodman's band and "Fever" are 2 great songs. Her one husband was a piano player and they were part of a 3-piece in cocktail lounges in the Connecticut area. She hit big in WWII with that first song which I think was written by "Big Maybelle" about 30 years before that. When she sang that line, "Get out of here and, get me some money, too," she had a sly mystery about her. You wondered what was behind that husky voice.

Is that all there is? Is that all there is? If that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing. Let's break out the booze and have a ball, if that's all there is.

LOVE her voice. She was amazing. Sort of got to meet her before she died, as a patient. She was in the ICU at the hospital, didn’t have a private suite with armed guards, that sounds like a bad rumor.

No body would produce her song
Fever because they told her she had to have a full orchestra.
She wrote it and insisted that only an acoustic stand up bass and bongo accompany her and it was her biggest hit! She thought us how to abolishes the Nay Sayers!

She hated Streisand cause she saw that new comer as a rival. Judy Garland welcomed her but not her. It's frustating to witness a talent as good if not better than you. Like Katherine Hepburn with Meryl Streep and Madonna with Lady Gaga.

But she was better than Streisand so bad theory there. Streisand is awful in every way. Kitcshy.

Janis Joplin wasn't a fan of her saying that her voice lacked that je ne sais quoi, who blow you away. For Janis, that's the other way, or you hate her style or you are mesmerized by her performances. Janis was deep. She knew how to shook your emotions.

An ugly subject, but beautifully done as always. Never saw the point of her basically empty hubba-hubba shtick. She and other much-worshiped nothings like SINatra deserved each other.
