As a young boy I just loved Elizabeth and I still think she’s still the most beautiful woman ever to grace showbiz. So sad that her life was quite tragic. R.I.P. Elizabeth, and thank you for all the wonderful entertainment 🙏🏻
Dude, she only was an actress because of her father's connections, women with similar beauty are plentiful in Hollywood, trust me I lived there for years, most barely make a living
I remember watching her on TV when I was a boy. Mom told me I would turn to stone if I kept starring at her. I was convinced she was telling the truth because I always felt something getting hard.
For me Elizabeth was a good actress, decent person, just like the rest of us, making mistakes, but in the end, she found happiness with her final husband, she died to young, you will always be remembered!!!!! 😁🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🐈
Sorry, she was not ‘decent’, Age of Vintage said it - salacious. Same with Grace Kelly. Not all actresses acted like that, some were able to control it, show some commitment for goodness sake. A pretty face sways and bewitches so many, buys her room to move, but from certain experiences close up, it cuts no ice with me any more. A good woman is a vastly better bet.
@@JamesHigham A M lived her adult life in the 60's and 70s all a time of free love and pushing boundaries. Your reaction reflects your value system. This presentation brought new things I had not heard before. I read her father was a real SOB and was actually jealous when she made it big. She really was beautiful and likable.
Hi Age of Vintage, Thankyou so much for doing this request of the very talented beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery. 😊 Elizabeth was an American film, stage, & television actress whose career spanned five decades. She will always be best remembered for her leading role as Samantha Stephens on the TV series Bewitched. She was the daughter of actor Robert Montgomery, & began her career in the 1950s with a role on her Father's TV series Robert Montgomery Presents. In the 1960s, she became known for her role on the ABC sitcom Bewitched. Her work on the series earned her 5 Primetime Emmy Award Nominations, & 4 Golden Globe Nominations. After Bewitched ended it's 8 year run in 1972. She continued her with roles in other TV film's, including A Case of Rape in 1974, & The Legend of Lizzie Borden in 1975. Both roles earned her additional Emmy Award Nominations. In her early career she had starring roles in live TV dramas & series, such as Studio One, Johnny Staccato, Burkes Law, The Twilight Zone & Alfred Hitchcock Presents, just to name a few. She played in the film comedy Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? In 1963 with Dean Martin & Carol Burnett. In the TV movie Amos in 1985 she played a vicious nurse who abuses her wards in a senior citizens home. Kirk Douglas & Dorothy McGuire starred among others as the wards. On Broadway in 1989 she starred in Love Letters, with Robert Foxworth. For many years, Elizabeth struggled with colon cancer, which she had believed she had beaten, unfortunately in 1995 she was told the cancer had returned. She had lived with Robert Foxworth for 20 years & they decided to Marry in 1993. She was unwilling to die in hospital & she returned home in Beverley Hills with Foxworth. She passed away on May 18th 1995 at home, only eight weeks after her re-diagnosis. She was only 62 years old. RIP this Stunning, Beautiful Lady who was lost way too young. Love Love from Australia 🇦🇺📽🎬💖💛💚💙❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘💋💋💋
I really enjoyed watching Bewitched. I loved the pilot, hilarious! I preferred Dick York much more, than the 2nd Darren. York was more funny, I thought.
A sad ending but this tells me Elizabeth definitely lived her life. If she never found happiness, at least her pursuit of it was undeniable. Love you "Sam"...RIP Thanks for vid, AOV.
My Mom had my sister and I watch old TV shows and movies as kids. I loved watching Bewitched so much and I always thought that Elizabeth Montgomery was so beautiful.
I once saw Robert Foxworth in an interview where he confirmed he thought possibly Robert Montgomery was jealous of Elizabeth. How ridiculous and self-centered. Robert Montgomery was a huge star in his own right and had no reason to be jealous of Elizabeth. He may have disapproved of some of Elizabeth's life choices, but I can also see why she had problems dealing with HIM. RIP Elizabeth - I loved watching you on television as a kid growing up.
I use to watch Bewitched when I was a child. I found this show a delightful fun entertainment and it made me laugh😊😊 I also liked Elizabeth Montgomery too, I also watched her in other movies after this show too
What boy would not fall immediately in love with this stunning woman. She seemed so sweet but I guess one never knows. That being said SHE WAS A STUNNER! God rest her soul.
I heard that she was faithful. In the series last year Asher had an open affair. Thus, Liz, had one to combat him. The story went that Asher had gambled their fortune away. This came out in the divorce. Liz wanted to retire back when she married Asher! Now she was forced to keep working. Thus, the many TV movies.
Sounds like Doris Day and Debbie Reynolds. They both had to keep working at a time when actors, especially actresses often retire, because their husbands had misused their money.
I've always loved Elizabeth Montgomery AND her dad Robert. Elizabeth was no more different than any other person. What is so deviant about liking older men and bad boys, you think she's the only one. I always thought she was so beautiful. DAvid Cassidy went through the very same thing with dad Jack Cassidy. Only David was the bigger star to Jack's chagrin. I will always love Elizabeth Montgomery.
Elizabeth Montgomery wasn't in Kud Gallahad it was Joan Blackman who co starred with Elvis. Gig Young was in the movie with Elvis and Elizabeth would come on the set to see her husband. He would start arguments with Elizabeth and Elvis said he would never work with Gig again because he didn't know how to treat women especially his wife. Thank you for showing Elizabeth Montgomerys story.
I had no idea that the two Montgomery's were related! Her father starred in one of my favorite movies, 'Here Comes Mr. Jordan' with Claude Rains, Edward Everett Horton and James Gleason as the irrepressible Max Corkle.
Bewitched is one of my favorite TV shows, but from what I’ve read, Dick York was a lot more likable than Elizabeth Montgomery. Dick York left the show because of his back problems, but Elizabeth was also eager to get rid of him, preferring Dick Sargent as an actor and friend. After he left the set, Dick York never heard from Elizabeth Montgomery again. Even though he was wheelchair-bound and poverty-stricken, Dick York spent the last few years of his life helping the homeless. He just seemed like a much more admirable human being.
I agree with you that Dick York was far more likable than Montgomery. And conversely, it’s reported that Agnes Morehead (Endora) was a very close friend of York and adored him, and absolutely despised Dick Sargent. If indeed it’s true that she never once visited nor called York in his waning days, Montgomery really showed her true colors, a very nasty and troubled woman.
@@harperstacey9604 Well, having a crush does not necessarily mean that one is looking to cheat. That was probably why she felt so much safer with Dick Sargent. LOL
It does appear that her parent's divorce threw her for an emotional loop that she never recovered from. Robert Montgomery made a huge mistake in divorcing her mother but he was not a villain. He gave Elizabeth regular jobs on his show "Robert Montgomery Presents" when she made her decision to be an actress - he was supportive. I would not have approved of her marriages to older men who were alcoholics either! Promiscuity is a sign of instability. She was a lovely woman who came across as being extremely likable - a great actress too. Her father was fantastic as well - watch Night Must Fall. Hi! Nice feature on Elizabeth Montgomery although I'm rather surprised these presentations tend not to mention her role as the supposed hatchet murderer, Lizzie Borden, in an excellent telefeature. I once met her father, actor Robert Montgomery, at a testimonial given for him; he was accompanied by the well-known film critic, Bosley Crowther, and veteran character actor, Frank McHugh. I showed Mr. Montgomery some rare MGM stills I had; I especially wanted to know if the large machine shop seen in the 1930 prison classic, THE BIG HOUSE (in which he appeared in support of Chester Morris and Wallace Beery), was genuine or a set. He told me that, as he recalled, it was a true machine shop, located in Northern Hollywood. Crowther and McHugh had expressed as much eagerness to see my stills as Montgomery himself, and as we parted, he called out to me, "Now don't you lose those, young fella!" Sincerely, Ray Cabana, Jr.
I thought Elizabeth Montgomery was terrific and found love later in life with actor, Robert Foxworth before she died of cancer. Why couldn't she find happiness? I seem to always hear this when a woman doesn't have a man, maybe the question should be why can't more men behave better in relationships?

Its not writing a thesis on the subject for a degree so sit back and have a Gin & Tonic and enjoy your day like the rest of us.
Thank you Brenton! 🙂
