Can you cover Product Documentation? Can you also talk about which design field is known most in a certain city; such as which city has the most jobs in Shoe Design, Transportation Design, or Consumer Electronics Design.
I think concept art could be another one, for example, Scott Robertson mentioned in an interview that he was formed as an industrial designer, now hes a concept artist :) great video btw !
It's so hard to find a job in product design! You have to start by going through all the UI UX job, the Engineering jobs etc etc.... like uhhh I just want to help you with your products!!!!
hello sir ! I am a final year architecture student and now i am planning to do my masters in industrial / product design . Is is possible for a guy like me from an architecture background to design core industrial product like a vacuum cleaner , robotic arm etc . I do come from a science background ( took science in my senior year then went into architecture ) . Also your videos are very informative and keeps us motivated to learn and peruse design . Thank you sir and lot's of love from India .
Hi! Thanks for an informative video. A practical question - what do you think - which CAD/CAM software is better to learn Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor? Which one is more common among the Industrial Designers? Thank you!
I'm soon to graduate from my five year (masters) course in Product Design Engineering, and i feel that the course focuses too much on the technical aspect of the course and i have not had time to develop my ideation skills to the level i want them to be at. Do you think i should take some time away from university/work to develop the kind of work i want to go into i.e. industrial design consultancy? Thanks in advance!
Hey Cameron, sounds like you got yourself in a great position. I would say to finish up with school which you probably already have planned. You totally can put more time developing your ideation skills on the side, free time, weekends. I dont think its necessary to take some time away unless you have specific plans.
Hey Jimmy Huynh, can animation skills like drawing and sketching help one get started in industrial design? I learned that NC State ID Program has some of their students work with game designers in making games and backgrounds for the games. Can that lead one to design props and models for video games and cartoons as their future job (while knowing and using ID skills)?
Do I need to do specialization (masters) in transportation design after bachelors in Industrial design, if I want to work as a car designer? Thank you.
I’m thinking about going to a local community college that has a cad certificate program while getting an associate degree. Would this be a good start in the industry? Also they have a transfer program into a major university that has an id major. Any opinions and or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks !!
hi im a student, and im taking a comunicacion design/ graphic design course on university, but im also very interested on industrial design. do you have any tips for how i can become on industrial designer? since i dont have any experince on the field of industrial design? thank you. You sir have a very awsome channel.
What if you spent 12 years in jobs and getting fired from them because really like me you're more into just drawing?.. I also got sick of 3d CAD...Getting a job in anything creative is almost f#ckin impossible. I'm now looking at training to be a Barber...No f#ckin about with portfolios or trying to convince people of your worth...2-300 dollar a day cash...done

Great video! I think eventually going into teaching would be an interesting/fun experience as well, but that's maybe 20 years down the line :)
Hows your Design Life been lately? Yeah teaching later in my career sounds like a good plan.
Still in school working with my professors, teaching abroad would be cool too!
Love your series by the way ;)
Can you recommend any books to help practice and improve sketches?, would totally help and I will be grateful

Soildworks is the one i use. Others also use Rhino and Fushion 360.
Love your content but please fix the audio levels. Intro music too loud and talking too quiet. Especially frustrating for earphone users :)
Thanks for the feedback mah man!

Any hints now can I get grant for master in industrial design I had my bachelor in mechanical engineering and badly looking for master.
Really interested in this but worried about the job growth. BLS reports only 2%. :(

@Jimmy can you be my industrial designing teacher?
Hey Jimmy, what kind of math/engineering/physics courses did you take at CalState Long Beach?
Thanks bro
How much do CAD people get paid
From my experience, I've seen 30/hr and upwards. Less than 30/hr would be considered low.
Could someone who has done ID do Architecture as their Masters?
