    The point of this video was to watch gold-sellers, see how they operate, and what types of players are buying gold, as well as a little trolling thrown in there. I'm just sharing my findings, which are that a ton of high levels buy gold, there are TONS of gold-selling businesses operating in game- I didn't even show x5 other locations, not many people seem to be getting banned even though it's against the rules, and I concluded it would be great if Jagex actively banned more, since I found it incredibly easy to find these "businesses". I reported a bunch of seller names to Jagex, and they didn't respond- maybe these fish are too small for them / not worth their time, I don't know.

    • @Lol_A_Frog
      @Lol_A_Frog 2 года назад +9

      Not necessarily true. Someone can work for 1 hour at their minimum wage job and buy anywhere from 20-30M with that money. If they were to collect the gold in game it could be 10 hours of vorkath and take even longer if they are a low or mid level account. So it's more efficient to work irl and buy gold than to spend that time making gp in game. Not defending gold buyers just saying I can see where the appeal is

    • @IAmTheGoblin
      @IAmTheGoblin 2 года назад +13

      Hardly. I don't have time to grind Vorkath for 18 hours a day just to afford the next micro upgrade. It's so much easier to buy gold so that I can do the things I WANT to do. If Jagex doesn't give enough of a shit to provide the service we SHOULD be receiving for $11, then why shouldn't I do it anyway? They don't permanently ban buyers. They don't do much of anything to dissuade players from buying. My take? Fuck it. They don't care, why should I? Because Redditors will cry? When Jagex gives a shit, then so will I.

    It's *entirely* more efficient to buy gold than to grind for it.

The money you can make from it is just insane. On a good day you can easily make 500m-1b from leeches + what ever you get from boss drops. We have a policy that if our customer gets a drop they get to keep it entirely and if sellers get drop they either keep or split depending on boss and what the drop was / what we decide to agree pre-sale. Hopefully that answer atleast some of the questions.

    • @ChimneyGaming

    I don't think there's anything honestly wrong with buying gold to level skills quickly or buying accounts from the blackmarket. It can take 2k+ hours just to make a decent zerk or med level main. 4K+ hours to make a decent high level main.
    If you value your time working at 20$ an hour, 20* 2000 = $40,000 in wages. A high level account costs at most $2,000-$3000.
    This is well worth the tradeoff. No one enjoys cutting trees or doing agility for 100+ hours for some obscure quest requirement

    • @elitespud4401
      @elitespud4401 2 года назад

      I see what you're saying and you make a good point. People who don't have the time to sink into making specialised accounts will definitely benefit from just spending real money to level those accounts faster, and it's expecially acceptable when that player has already spent the time to level/max an account or multiple already.
      However, the game is not designed for this. Yes there are bonds, but these do not result in gold being farmed in-game even close to what gold-selling sites cause, and they help keep the servers running. The excess of gold in game caused by gold farmers selling gold to sites seriously damages the economy, and for an MMORPG the economy is a crucial part of the game. If there is too much money in the game, then the cost of everything inflates dramatically.

    the secret to a small scale successfull bot farm is to not stock pile your gp on one account at all.... sell it as its being generated and scrap the account once its done. example you have a pool of 100 bots and a buyer who wants 1B.
    out of these 100 bots, 15 have a combined value of 1B.
    5-10 minutes before the trade with the client you put it all on one of these 15 accounts, trade, and depending on the type of bot and the amount of time/work is needed for it to be replaced, put it back to work or ditch the account all together and make fresh ones.

    Botters unfairly influence and damage the entire economy and profit from it. I am 100% against botters.
    As for people who want to buy and sell gold, well good for them. The only real downside is they get to do this from cash-farming bots, which again ruin the economy.
    People selling and buying gold hurt nobody and doesn't harm the gameplay. Unfair? Life is unfair, people are born with lucky or unlucky circumstances. People in game get lucky or unlucky with drops. Unfairness is not something that can be combated.
    As for people committing irl crimes connected to rwt, that is NOT jagex's fault or responsibility. People are responsible for their own bloody actions. Own it. Accept it, move on.
