If you set it correctly, it should just show the display. You can connect a Apple Keyboard and Mouse through Bluetooth Settings

i am doing the same thing, my monitor is 1080p 144hz but i am only getting 1080p 60hz also the picture is kinda blurry compared to when i use the monitor with my pc

With this unit, my Macbook pro, M2 didn't work with usb-c to hdmi, (worked fine with my dell i7) what worked was the DP to usb-c.

In the system prefrences settings and then under Display there is an option called "mirror display" which has to be unchecked
What if i connect Usb 3.0 to monitor and type c to macbook ... will it work ... or it works with hdmi only?
usb 3.0 is not a display cable so it cannot display audio on monitors the only cables you can use are thunderbolt, hdmi display port etc hope this helps

I cant do that on the M1 macbook pro. In my mac it does say it recognise the monitor. But no image displayed. I use the same cable on windows laptop, the cable works.
