You are a hero, sir.
using WD19TB Dell Thunderbolt Dock. MacBook Air only recognize 1 of 2 monitors.
Thank you so much! This video helped me a lot, since I`ve been trying to use dual monitor with my MacBook Air 2017 that I still own. But I just got the new MacBook Pro M1 and was wondering if it was compatible with my Dell D3100 and IT IS!!!! That's great!! Thank you.
This worked like a charm! Thank you
Hello, I have a macbook pro 2016 15 inch and want to connect 4 monitors. I am able to only connect 2 monitors is there anything that you recommend?
This setup in the video with a DisplayLink compatible hub (full list via link in the video description) will make sure that you can use more than one monitor. If you check that list, each hub has notes on how many monitors it can support.
Hope that helps!
Thank you mate.
It works! thank you for your video.
Hey, I have an M1 2020 Mac running on Sonoma 14.2.1. When I use the display link app, and with my dell hub, my two external monitors are duplicated screens and I cannot find a way to make them different
You should check the compatibility of the hub with DisplayLink. I have a link in the video description with a list of all compatible hubs.
Legend! Do we know why the app insists on recording our screens?
Hello, does it work with the HyperDrive Viper 10-in-2 USB-C for Macbook pro / air ? I have downloaded the displayLink software. Do I have to also buy the DisplayLink hub? Thank you
Hello, I just tried it yesterday and it's working fine with my MBA M1. I have a Samsung HD display with 60HZ and both are working fine. But you need to purchase a type c to the USB connector.
@@chiragsolanki3589 at what resolution and Hz can it go up to for both extended monitor?especially since it is using a usb connector to the usbc ..
I just set up my 2020 13" macbook pro m1 running Sonoma 14.4 with an hp docking and two monitors. I'm able to see my desktop mirrored in both monitors but my computer only detects one. Tried many ways to detect the second monitor without luck. Any solutions?
It sounds like your hub does not support DisplayLink, you may need to buy one of the hubs in my link in the description (not affiliated)
if you want it to work with the lid closed just plug it in. anyway great video helper me alot thanks
I tried this with a different hub. Doesn't work. I don't know if the hub I'm using is not compatible.
You need to make sure you have a hub that uses DIsplayLink, there is a list of compatible hubs in the video description and the pinned comment of the video, I hope this helps!
Hi Sean great video so far but still struggling im using an M2 mac 13" with latest OS i have an dell docking station WD19 i have installed the display link driver however still get the same issue showing one screen and no arrangement tab shown in display section.
I can get it showing both external screen but this act as duplicate onto the screen and not extended
Current set up is HDMI connected to monitor A and display port into Monitor B
Anything else i should try?
Thank you in advanced.
Same issue. I'm using the HP USB Hub G5 and also haven't been able to get two external monitors to work with a 2022 M2 MacBook Pro.
I have on old Macbook Pro with 10.14 Mojave. I think its a 2011 unit and does not have a USB-C, but USB-A and other inputs. I have dickinbg station normally used for a PC laptop, but wish to connect my Macbook Pro.....ideas ??
You will need to use a hub that supports DisplayLink, there's a link in the description to all the supported ones. This will work for any laptop.
Why do you use slower display link with drivers when you have thunderbold on every with DP on every USB-C and (if I have recorgnized) HDMI?
This video was made for M1 Macs where they only supported one video output, that's why. If you have a newer model, you can just use the Thunderbolt ports :)
Thank you, Sean! I had had a hard time trying to solve this issue until I run into your video. All set up now. I just have an issue using my headphones when connected to the front of the hub; it would really mess up Zoom (crashed) every time I tried to use it this way. I still have to try to connect a back up drive through the hub to see how it worked. monitors are doing well. Any comment on these issues?
I have a Mokin multiport adapter which supports 2 HDMI for monitors 1020 at 60Hz with Macbook pro M2, only able to make one monitor work, what would be the trick to make the two monitors work?
You need a hub that has DisplayLink support. Some of the M3 Max etc now support multiple monitors without a hub but the method in the video needs a DisplayLink hub. Theres a bunch of them in the link in the video description if you are looking for the right one.
Is it possible to span (i.e. combine) as single display on your dual monitor with this display link setup? more from purposes of utilising both screens for gaming / or have the dock / menu bar across two screens
I have never tried this and Im unsure how to do it. If anyone else on here knows, please share.
is the display link software necessary? I have an M22 Macbook air 2022 and want to connect two screens in the most simple way
Yeah the displaylink hub and software makes it work
It works great, Thank you for the information.
Great video. I followed the steps. My issue is I cannot see 3 monitors in my display. Just one big one and my laptop. Is there something else I can do to get it show 3 monitors? Two external and my mac? My goal is to work in clamshell mode and use the two externals.
Hi, When u wish to use 2 or 1 monitor for better performance with Macbook, can we do all activities on monitors as we do on laptop & if we can does all the files, docs stored and edited well through those monitors as well?

You need to use a DisplayLink compatible hub. There is a list in the video description you can view.
is there a HDMI hub extender that plugs into the laptop? My laptops charging port is type c but then I can't have it charging while I work so I need a HDMI option, do you know of one?
No sorry I don't know any, maybe someone else on here might know though?
So I have a Falwedi USB C Laptop Docking Station, 14 in 1 Type C Hub Multiport Adapter Dongle with 3 Monitors, Dual HDMI...etc. It works well for one monitor. Will this work if I download the software you linked or are only some docking stations with two HDMI connections capable of working with the software?
Hi Erin, the only important part is that the hub must support DisplayLink. There is a list of compatible hubs in the description and pinned comment.
I hope this helps!
