I remember building that Kit, I also had the Sherman Firefly, LRDG truck n jeep, Krupe Protze with anti tank gun and a couple others, Matchbox models with scenery was the ducks nuts and affordable 😁😁
Built this around 1978 - great kit. Never any problems with MATCHBOX-kits, went together well, never any bad problems if you scrutinized the instructions and were careful with the glue 😅
Lots of treatment for a tiny model. It turned out very nice. The base is well done. Ive never built this one. I built lots of these Matchbox back in the day mid 1970s. I never thought to ever use oil paint and spirits for weathering . I use acrylics Gunze paint and for weathering dry brush and maybe sometimes water down black or dark grey etc. lately i use the Tamiya weathering sets. Just brush on to model as dry brush over panel lines but not to much. For exaust streaks works well. I don't airbrush as some modellers do. Very nicely done. I wish they did these in 1/32 would've been great. But still impressive nice details.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Thanks for your comments, yes they are great kits and I’m building Monty’s caravan for a future video. I am trying to improve the quality of my videos so stay tuned. By the way I love your channel, especially the Matchbox and Airfix playsets, I had most of the in the very early 80s except the desert one. I have been looking to pick a few up for a bit of nostalgia but they are always a bit too pricey. Otherwise keep up the good work 👍
I think your video quality is great. But it´s always fun to try to improve. Yup those play sets will set you back a few quids. But at least they don´t drop in value.@@creativetimewasting
@@toysoldiernostalgia yes, I will be purchasing a camera and try to improve my editing skills to making the viewing experience better. As for the playsets, I live about 5 mile away from Vectis Auctions in Thornaby-on-Tees in the UK, I’m always tempted to visit but I’m afraid I might just empty my bank account when I’m there. Dangerous thing this collecting business 👍
I bought a couple of playsets from Vectis and it got a bit expensive shipping them to Sweden 🤣. Editing is the boring part of all this (as you know) but now that I´m getting more used to Davinci Resolve at least it´s a bit easier.@@creativetimewasting
Hey Neil, It's always illuminating, seeing how another modeller approaches their techniques, materials and subjects. Your wash techniques are refreshingly individual and have given me many pointers towards how I do my own pieces. Well done. Cheers, Rob.
The video qualities will improve as I do more, it’s not the most professional set up I have I just using my phone until better equipment is purchased. But I appreciate your comments thanks.
How I miss these Matchbox kits, thanks for sharing. I know some of them are still availabe under the Revell brand (this one is one of them) but unfortunately not the entire 'collection' is available. (And it's still NOT the same without the colourfull Matchbox boxing)
Totally agree, the Revell reboxes do not inspire or fire the imagination the way the Matchbox kits did, they were the full package. I will be building more Matchbox kit for the channel, I may try to make them shorter and a bit more dynamic. Thanks for your comments 👍
I really appreciate the video, I just found similar Matchbox model but it's Monty's Caravan. Watching you tackle this project helped me know what I was in for. In terms of production value I would leave your camera in a static position and try to move things in front of it instead of moving your camera around. If you are more comfortable moving your camera around, investing in a Gimbal to smooth things out would be wise. Cheers, and good luck.
Thanks for your comments. I am just using my phone at the moment so I’m a bit worry about capturing the detail hence the moving in etc. when I need both hand I do mount my phone to a stand but it’s not ideal. I will invest in more equipment to try to improve the quality and sound of the videos. Until then I will attempt to improve the quality with the equipment I have at the moment so stay tuned. 👍
Hello! I have seen all your works and for me you are among the best, congratulations and a video from beginning to end of a model would be interesting, thank you, greetings...
Great kit built it in the 70s the panzer was preferred as you got a good desert base with it , more of a tank guy than armoured car but still a good kit if you got all the wheels working 🤔 only 7 ish then but with a good imagination it was fun 😌 those were the days
That is great Neil. What a difference the washes make, night and day. Very impressive. I’d love to see you putting the parts together. Time lapsed so to speak. That would bring your videos to a whole new level.
I understand the sentiment and enthusiasm, but I have to respectfully suggest that watching people simply do 'the build' is like watching paint dry. To my way of thinking, if your first model is sub par, build another 10, if your 10th model is a mess, build another 100. If you get much beyond the 100 point and you haven't learnt volumes about model building (and the use of band aids) - take up music...... Sorry, no disrespect intended, but some skills are just hard won and the result of personal experience.
I’m failing to see the justification in this response. I merely wanted to see my friend build a model in a time lapse. Ok that may not be for you, you have the ability to skip. Here we have a wonderful gentleman filling his time creatively and would like to see his efforts grow and blossom. He is filled with lots of knowledge and his talent with an air brush is beyond reproach. All the best Neil.
@@carltondial2749 I’m trying to mix it up a bit on the channel to give a variety of things to watch, hopefully as I improve my videos and there quality it may improve viewing experience. 👍

This, the Puma, the Krupp Protze, Monty's Caravan, the LRDG set, basically any of the non-tracked kits, were and still are some of my fave all time kits. Pity the Revell reboxes are so expensive for near 50 year old kits.
Great video,im trying to get hold of the revell version of this kit, also waiting for the day when revell finally rerelease the old matchbox panzer 3 kit.
@@creativetimewasting I'm Braille scale generation myself, the big kits take up too much room. Since retiring I've been making up 'toy soldier' sets to give away to less well off folks, I get to make everything I wanted when I was 10 and I don't have to find anywhere to keep it!
the Humber was the first Matchbox kit I built , 1975ish . It made a nice addition to the Airfix vehicles that I had , so I got a few more . I thought the Puma was particularly nice

Love the old Matchbox kits
Gorgeous mate. The matchbox kits were a massive part of my childhood.
More to come, Wespe will be next. Keep watching.
I made that kit when I was about 10! They were fantastic!
me too!!!!! wow
Thanks for giving these old dog kits some TLC. Superb result.

I bought that kit way back in the 80s from Beverley Army Transport museum. Great memories.
I really miss these kits, they fitted together so well and the diorama was the icing on the cake.
I remember building this kit in the early '70s and loved it. Matchbox is my favorite and I still have a few unbuilt kits in the loft.
