    Love these builds. It's great to see such old kits get this amount of TLC.
    Also, as someone who commutes through country lanes to work I can fully relate to the "I'm not washing my car at this time of year" sentiment 😂

    Always an immense pleasure to watch you transform old kits from sow's ears to silk purses. You have a natural touch and an eye for weathering and that ability makes a real difference.
    Keep up the good work. 👍

    I found one of these in my son-in-laws pile of belongings after he left home. An oldie but a goodie, so much so I bought the re-release from Airfix and Looking forward to building it. I scratch cobbled together an instrument panel for the old one but I have a bought panel for the new one. Really nice finish on your Boomer, great stuff.

The Kiwi Wings i used a slow running grinder to cut all the heavy veins on the molding process. But the kits come up okay. LTD is a basic kit, finishes nice. I remember this was my first kit, it was in the 70's and I was maybe 10-12 years old. I painted with Humbrol brushes and paints. My mind exploded...these rivets from the old Airfix kits were amazing. Seeing those thick lines on the panels and without rivets of the modern Airfix kits have disappointed me. I know it's a mere matter of taste, but somehow they have lost that magic they had.

    • @creativetimewasting

      Even the new 1/48 scale B-36 Marauder from ICM is missing rivet detail, a bit disappointing because it’s a lovely kit otherwise.

    Tip: When using dubious old transfers I always utilise the underwing or not so obvious markings first in case they fail or need extra care when applying.

    Great job on that one! Believe I had my eye on that exact same kit at Telford, instead I came away with a Heller Morane-Saulnier M.S.406. Terrible decision! I've built the Airfix Boomerang and enjoyed it, the Heller M.S.406 is much less enjoyable.

    Just wondering, why don't you prepaint details like cockpit interior, wheels/tires, struts and engine before assembly and overall painting? 🤔
    On an old kit like this, I use a decal liquid to make sure they don't crack. Testors makes a decal spray and Microscale makes a brush-on decal liquid. A clear acrylic could work too.

    • @creativetimewasting
      @creativetimewasting  Месяц назад

      I prefer to build as much as possible before painting, just my way. I think it’s easier to tie in the weathering. I also think it can speed up a build too.
