" When I arrived at inter. I struggled at first. Then mourinho at some point benched me for a month. Now mind you I had just done a 36 goals season with barcelona. He told me" You're my best player but right now you think more about your public image than the team so sit down "
I had to work twice as hard and understand that you have to sacrifice and stop whining. I went to work and right before playing Chelsea in the CL He tells me.
" You're back in the team tomorrow. You will score and we will win the treble thanks to you "

Even if you remember Keano, as a kid in Ireland it was hard to get a move abroad the England. He asked every single club in the English for a trial and only 1 replied, Notts forest. He made an instant impression and then after a few years got a move to United and the rest in history. He attitude to be the best was unreal. Too many players want to get spoon fed these days.

Even look at the players in his current team that have had turbulence over the years. Alonso rudiger Jorginho with lampard. Even pulisic under lampard a little. Timo werner scored less than 10 league goals didn’t complain got on with it. Havertz been played in every attacking position to date so far at Chelsea don’t complain. Lukaku was being eased back into the team after a bit of a bad injury and he does this silly interview 😂😂 never wanted him back and when he’s in the team we are very one dimensional and easy to understand our attack. When he’s out it’s great free flowing football. I don’t see how he can come back from this tuchel has dealt with mbappe and neymar in terms of egos he will not be bullied and we as fans need to side with him and I do. Lukaku bang out of order hold your tongue out on the work and it will come

You can add every other Chelsea player in addition to Werner. 1) Havertz - surely not happy with how things have gone, never complains or slates the club in the media 2) Rudiger - In the midst of a contentious contract negotiation, never complains or shows up the club in the media 3) Pulisic - has been played out of position all year and again never complains 4) Ziyech - he’s gotta be frustrated with how things are going, again doesn’t go to the media to complain. I could go on.

We were absolutely not fine without a proper centre forward. Havertz was a ghost today (although I like him), Pulisic clearly can't play false 9, and Odoi isn't providing anything through the middle. He was man of the match for a reason the previous two games, he absolutely bullied everyone on the opposition team, he knows where to be, he knows how to finish, and he's a threat that nobody else in the team can match. We win against Liverpool if he played today. I'm fine with a draw and a lesson learned from him, but only because the title race is already dead.

Lukaku had prepared what he wanted to say during the interview. He clearly said he isn't happy with the formation played, but that he will buckle down and keep working. At the same time, he took the opportunity to apologise to Inter fans (the apology was immediately rejected by the curve Nord), and said that he's one day like to go back there. This is the same person who also said he wanted to end his career at Chelsea when he signed. During the same interview, he also outlined his 3 'dream' clubs whilst at Inter, and Chelsea wasn't one of those 3 clubs. Lukaku was clearly using the interview to effectively threaten Chelsea to play the way he wants to play, or that he has other options.

The thing is, and I'm only speaking at it from a Man Utd supporter's point of view when Lakaku was at United. It seems to me that this is more focus on starpower in the games than getting the results and being a team-player. Regardless of how it went down with United: Lakaku was a respectable player when he played for us, scored a reasonable amount of goals over those two seasons he was there, but when it was getting to the point where it felt he wanted to go to another club because of either the money was better, or the conditions were right for him whether it was due to lack of game time, or disputes with Ole or any other related reason: it makes it sound like the player is bigger than the club. That should NEVER be the case from any player at any club, and (forgive me for bringing this into the fold) this is why we have an issue with Pogba at this stage currently. Too many egos in clubs and are focusing more on the status of themselves rather then the team.
Regardless of any club, the #1 rule is: Leave your egos at the door. If you don't like the situation, you change it either on the training grounds or you get advisement from the coaching staff and the gaffer/manager. Lakaku could have stayed at Inter if he wanted to, won Serie A last season, close to have won the Europa League etc. If he stayed, he may have made more success than all the clubs he's been to combined.

Players like Pogba and lukaku deserve to be in the Italian league, playing with players that make them look good, players that are below their level so they can try things and feel like they’re on top of the world. In the premier league they’ve been exposed to us and it showed us that they’re not as good as they think they are which is the reality. They just need to go back to the old man’s league and do their fancy tricks and run past old defenders to build their ego

  • @abbott.0

This is a Chelsea fan writing, and to me Tuchel did what needed to be done, he did the right thing: no one, no player is bigger than Chelsea, no player is bigger than any club. Lukaku has to apologize to the team, to the coach and the fans for what he said. If he feels that he didn't say anything wrong, he can go back to Inter and everything will be fine, he can go to Tottenham so he can be comfotable the way Conte plays his teams. Chelsea and the Premier League needs the very best and this kind of attitude is untolerable. If Lukaku wants to score 50+ goals, he can go back to Inter, Madrid or Barcelona, or any league where only one or three teams have good odds to have a good championship run. And I'd like to apologize to all Premier League fans for Lukaku's comments, we had great expectations on him and we didn't realize he was gonna do this kind of actions. The Premier League don't deserve this kind of drama, it deserves good football, exciting championship runs and a healthy sportmanship culture.
