      If you were an overrated, poor footballer who is also a poor pundit too, what the hell is that person doing on Sky Sports? Why not have Andy Carroll, Scott Sinclair or Aaron Lennon on next as a regular pundit!? That's the point I'm making. At least the likes of Carragher, Neville, Wright, Keane, Henry, Lineker, Souness, Shearer, Alex Scott etc were great players. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Pogba's been showing you who he is for the past few years. Top sides aren't bringing people in and hoping they can pull off a big transformation job with the new player. Carragher's got it right and the other two have got it exactly backwards: the player earns the right to play for a top side with their body of work. The job of the manager should be to make it easier for the player to do things they've shown a desire and ability to do; NOT TO GET THEM TO DO THINGS THEY'VE SHOWN NO DESIRE OR ABILITY TO DO.

    As a United fan, a few years ago I couldn't wait to get rid of him. Now, I'm not even arsed. He's been injured most of the time, turned up for maybe a quarter of a season when we really needed him, then ghosted again. It's got to the point where sensible United fans have just lost interest. He'll be no huge loss, but at the same time he's been less aggravating to deal with in recent years because a) he's injured most of the time b) we've had bigger squad issues to worry about.
    Pogba is talented but he's been a disaster for most of his United tenure. Always injured. Doesn't elevate a team whatsoever. Carra is spot on and I hate the parts of our fanbase that keep defending Pogba.
    City would be fools to go for him. They want a no 8 who's gonna work hard, transition everywhere for 90 minutes and constantly look for space behind De Bruyne. Not somebody who's gonna jog around for 75% of the game as it suits him. The days of having clever stationary midfielders who linger around and let their passing open up play have long gone as a solitary role. Even Modric runs around more than Pogba does at 36.
    I wouldn't replace Gundogan or Rodri for him whatsoever.

    As a United fan, I couldn't care less about Pogba going anywhere. He never was able to perform consistently in a United top at the top level. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes elsewhere and does well but would just show how he wasn't able to perform for the team and is just a luxury player that you have to add to an already well organised and high achieving team.

  • @davidkelly499

    I dont think that Jamie Redknapp has ever watched France play. They have a system that is designed to get the best out of him. If Man City did that then that takes away from De Bruyne (who is a better player) and it makes them a poorer team.
    His scoring record for France is actually poor as well, 11 goals in 91 games for an attacking midfielder. Remember that a lot of those games are against the likes of Moldova, Estonia, Faroes etc.

    • @matttully1904
      @matttully1904 2 года назад

      also, when they won the world cup he had peak ngolo kante next to him, being two men, and another midfielder also to cover for him. he wont make the french team for much longer either given the talent available to france.

    I agree with Carra ! A great manager may be able to get a bit extra out of a great player , but 100% commitment should be a given . With Carragher all the way. You cannot gain respect if you only work hard under the so-called right circumstances. Pogba has made little to no impact this season, and though I did not follow previous seasons, the consensus is that he hasn't been doing enough. The idea that he will suddenly awaken his dedication after being transferred is a fantasy. In fact, it's an insult.
