Beautiful lens, it’s permanently attached to my D800. I tried cleaning the haze but had problems removing the inner group. Even with some haze it provides amazing colors. Thank you for the video and your professional experience.

I have the pre-D and love it. Super clean lens! Very under rated today.
I use it on my D7200.

@@bobkrouse8822 I used it years ago on my N 90 and F4 and more recently as explained in the video on my D810. It’s a very sharp lens, just limited in its range. Thanks for watching.

I also use an 80-200 2.8 also. The original push pull.
Again..very sharp lens that still is quite relevant.

The Nikon D-810 is a fabulous camera if a person behind it knows how to use it. I have the D810 and the D850 and I have used them both with the autofocus lenses and they work very well. I bought 4 mirrorless because of their weight reduction and the fabulous lenses that go with it. I do use the DSLR cameras at times. The images do look nice the ones that didn't have any flares.

There are very few things you can do with a D850 that you can't do with a D810. I have two D810's and love 'em to bits.

This lens is awesome & keeps up today. Used since F4, good manual on F2AS,
Now looking for a Canon EOS comparable for my EOS 1n. What’s your input if familiar with Canon? Something not as expensive as the 24-70/2.8 but sharp clean

@@khanscombe619 The 28-70 2.8L is excellent. I used it on my EOS1. Thanks for watching.

I too have this lens (pre D version) and its output was comparable to that of a prime lens when I first bought it. However, haze has built up over time and the images now have a distinctly 'milky' appearance. I just hope I can get it cleaned and have its original image quality restored.

@@NigelHuddart Sorry to hear that. I have disassembled a few prime lenses to remove haze but I would never attempt to take apart a zoom. Thanks for watching.
