What is in the genes of great rock stars, not only do they keep all their hair, but they can grow it long and it still looks great into their 70s?! What the heck!?!
Great job Bobby. I'm sure he would not remember but he came into a club in Elmira NY in 1990 or 91 and asked if he could sit in with the 3 piece cover band I was playing guitar in. Said he played keys with 38 Special and I was thinking yeah right. Well he did a version of Stormy Monday with us that gave me chills. He gave me a full access pass for their tour that year that I never did use. I still have it somewhere. Thanks for the memory Bobby. Mike
They sound amazing, even with Bobby Capps singing this song. Can y’all believe that Bobby’s been in the band since 1991??! I didn’t even know that. Same thing with Danny Chauncey. He’s been with them since ‘87!!!
Bella musica!!!!!!!!!!! No cambio para nada esa hermosa voz del tecladista, los muchachos de las guitarras con sus coros, fabulosos!!!!! a pesar del tiempo. Adoro a estos artistas y segunda chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for video. It's a nice quality concert performance video. One of the better "Second Chance" concert performance by .38 Special. So, thanks for the good quality video. I dedicate this "Second Chance" song to the boyfriend who left less than 2 weeks ago. I haven't talked to him in real time since he left. Because if someone leaves, I respect their privacy & space & feel that when a person leaves, it's up to that person to initiate communication if he wants to talk again. Anyways, (cont.)
this song rings true for me except for the infidelity & cheating parts. I never cheated on him. And I still love him. We just had some argument. That's all. We were going through stress. Anyways, I love him. And my heart, soul, & mind is still loyal & faithful to him. But yeah, I was born in Ohio, so it's befitting that I dedicate this .38 Special "Second Chance" performance from Ohio to him. When I pick & dedicate songs to someone - they really mean something. I don't just dedicate (cont.)
Especially when on tour. They have to sing this song over and over and over. I've read they get so sick of singing the same songs. They understand their audience is waiting for it and love it. But still .. After singing it 50 times. It gets old. They have to juice it up sometimes maybe
any ole song for anyone. That boyfriend was honestly the only boyfriend I dedicated songs for. For real. And the special songs I picked & pick for him have to have a BOOM! - That's for him or us effect. I won't just dedicate just any song. The words have to be deep & have to be special & meaningful. And the melody of the song has to be beautiful, haunting, & wonderful. And the artist & band has to make me think of me, us, or him. It has to connect on all levels. & Gavin DeGraw's (cont.)
"Where You Are", Graham Colton's "Our Story (One Day at a Time)", & NOW "Second Chance" by .38 Special are all special songs that represent & mean something on many levels in more ways than 1 for him, for me, & for "us". I sincerely hope that the boyfriend who left less than 2 weeks ago visits my channel & takes to heart this song's lyrics & how this song conveys how I feel. I don't want for him to throw away what we built, even our friendship.I think it's worth keeping, working on, & saving. .
Bobby Capps is a good singer. He's like the Jason Scheff to Max Carl's Peter Cetera. He can hit all the notes and has a close tone but you can't match the original singer of this song. Max Carl sang his ass off in the studio for this song. Not saying Bobby Capps doesn't. He's a decent replacement. Anyway I don't like songs about cheating, but for some reason, I love this song.
The song is great and the band, but at the end to have to throw your mike stand down because it doesn't work is very rock star stupid-ness. The road crew feels that ' that should not have happened and Shit happens sorry!
What a band.... Im from the u.k just found these guys, one of the best bands iver heard
Clean version here. Always tuning in when it's .38 Special
Awesome job Bobby!!!! Underrated musician/vocalist
Who is listening in 2024?
Me! One of the best this 70 year old remembers
Always dug this tune. Super tight version right here, but then again, 38 Special always brings it.

North Florida baby!!! ❤
Dang this guy hasn’t lost one iota of his voice and I’m pretty sure this is in the original key
It’s not even the original singer. Max Carl is the original singer.
Max carl was the writer and singer

Awwww how cute. It’s been 9 years since you wrote this comment and I hope you to are happy together 😊
Arguably their best song. The mix is killer AND THEY CUT IT SHORT? WTF???

Hahahaaa too funny
Could this band ever made it without Donnie Van Zant? LOL
Sorry, but not the same w/o Max Carl on lead vocal.
NADA QUE VER,,,,,,MAX CARL SU ORIGINAL CANTANTE ES Y SERA INIGUALABLE

Great tune but premis is easy. You cheated and you don't get a "Do Over".

Wow good voice
This song gives me goose bumps ❤
