Hey Alex! Years ago I was a student of yours and I am really happy to see that you’re making such excellent content + sharing your gift of teaching chess to a wider audience. Godspeed!!
Thanks, David! I really appreciate you always being supportive. Just visited your channel, and I am happy you improved so much since last time we've met! I think the NM title is not that far away. Keep it up!
I've been involved in a vote chess game recently that started with the French, and when I see higher rated people talk about the position it feels like I need to become a scientist first 🤣 It feels so much different from the openings I play. Great demonstration by Carlsen as usual. Impressive Blitz game thx!
very nice video because you explain very well the idea behind every move. In my 60 memorable games Fischer says that the Winawer is anti-positional, why?
Thanks! Winawer is seen as anti-positional cause you (as black) trade your better (dark-square) bishop, and since your pawns in the center are on the light-squares, your remaining bishop is terrible, while the dark-squares are weaken. Even though it seems ugly at first, the opening variation is not bad as there are many problems white is facing as well. For example, having "the bishop pair advantage" is not that great since the center is locked and the game closed.
A huge lecturer. I follow a variety of masters and can say your tutorials are remarkably outstanding.
Wow, thank you so much! :)

Thanks, Nico! These positions in the Winawer variation are really something different than anything else.
