Carlsen's chess idol is Kasparov and Giri's most likely is Anand. But personality wise they are exactly opposite. Carlsen is more reserved and Giri is just complete extrovert!
Interesting take! Kasparov's chess career is greater than Anand's, but Anand is for sure the better person of the two. Not sure about any top chess player being a complete extrovert though!

I have only guesses since I made these videos as a hobby and am very far from being a professional RUclipsr. The main reason is that chess has recently blown up in popularity on many platforms. People are getting curious about the games, the players, what's going on on and off the board, so they search for it. Both Magnus Carlsen and Anish Giri have a large fanbase, are interesting people, and their banter on social media always gets a lot of attention. Put them together in a compilation of moments that are usually found in 6-hour-long commentary videos, and you probably end up with something that fills a huge gap in the market! Add in the fact that Anish Giri recently beat Magnus Carlsen in a match which went viral and got more people interested specifically in these two. I had a look at your video on the 2018 WCh commentary (Chess Fun Moments). I suggest you put the names of the players and the commentators in the title!
