    At the interview, he confessed that Rc2 was a cunning move. And his game was running with his prep. He is proud of his this types of prep.

    Well, I saw the horsey sacrifice, but I didn't think he'd play the double rook sacrifice in exchange for the queen as well!! As someone who also like to sacrifice my entire troops, although sometimes, blunders somewhere along the line, and made me look like an ape playing blunder / sacrifice chess, but sometimes when I calculate the sac perfectly or my opponent just couldn't find the absolute best move, then those sacrifices could be very nice to review on!! Nice little immortal from Anish!!

      @@nhalsey99 it's a board game older than chess, with more possibilities, more viable play styles and complexity. All of that emerges from 5 simple rules which is the elegance of the game.

    Im not titled player, but from my humble experience, when you dont have any defense in front of your king's castle an attack can take over the board out of nowhere. Great example of this, at GM level. This game need to be in chess book about attack.

    Great analysis! I like the fact you show variations and what black could have done to show there’s really no escape. Giri’s known for his prep and he’s come so close to winning Tata Steel for so many years so he’s out for blood now.

    Also, anyone notice this is the OPPOSITE of the Eline Roebers giri game 'She Crushed a 2627 GM With a Queen Sacrifice!' ? there the 3 pieces beat the queen. here, the queen beats the 3 pieces

    2:57 why would Ba4 be a trouble for white? If everything captures, you'll have two hishops for a rook, thah seems good.
    Obviously I am missing some inbetween combo, but it's almost midnight.. help me figure it out

      I was thinking the same. But I think 1… g6. 2. Nxf7+ Qxf7 3. Rxe6 and white should be better because of weak black king and 2 pawns already for knight and the initiative for white.
