This remimds me of my time as a maintenance lead at a aerospace machine shop. The customer service makes the machines value go way up. Haas has some of the best customer service I've seen and okuma was not to bad, SNK was a whole different story.

    Really cool to watch!! :D
You now can mass-replicate/forge autographs! :D
Also unexpected Walker is always fun :D 3:00

Another really cool attachment for some of the more rigid plasma cutters is a drag scribe.
I really don't see the practical benefit for the probe with a CNC Plasma cutter, but it's still cool. Ideally ShopSabre would integrate a camera to do the same thing and then it could follow an edge or line. (I understand that some DIY CNC controllers have a plugin that does this) That way you could place a drawing or previously cut part on the table and use the camera to capture the outline. Though I suspect that there is some type of manual mode for the probe that you could use to at least translate individual points into a CAD file. At least then you could find edges, holes and other features you need to identify to then use to complete a drawing in a CAD program.
One of the real advantages of Servo motors on a CNC is the ability to get accurate position information to do cool stuff like this.

Maybe one could make a spring loaded sharpie holder, so that it would compensate for any wobbliness on the surface and maintain a little pressure like you would do when marking things by hand. Back then when I was in the labelling business, we had ink jet printers, that would move on a gantry to mark stuff like big boxes. They were wicked expensive also...

That probe sensed part - digitized rendering (green line quickly shown on pc screen) seemed to have some corner/edge features not evident on the square cornered target piece (disregard where probe touched right on corner, resulting in 45 deg.). Maybe that was corrected with smaller sense resolution?

Let’s see a test of how far a Sharpie draws compared to a Milwaukee inkzall. I will only use the inkzalls in my shop now…..

If I didn't have TEC For my internet I'd probably have to go with a SpaceX Star Link system

Magnetic plate to hold the piece? Not sure if it would affect the probe… may need to be non ferrous… given the half the height for Z, you could create a position fixture similar to the welding table… very expensive x-y pen plotter 😅

Anyone else in the CNC community and industry see the headache using windows?!?!?! Windows has become the most unusable OS in current day.

Why is that? I use AutoCAD all day long and it's fairly rock solid. Revit too. Are CNC programs just bulky cos there's a limited user base?
