This saw ruclips.net/user/postUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B comes in handy in many ways. When I had a small (dead) tree fall I started the process of disposal by using this saw and cutting off the small branches. Then slowly work on the small trunk with undercutting and letting it fall down. With many trees on acres of land paying for a tree service can be expensive. It also is nice in that it can be used in hard to get areas like along my creek. It's also safer and quieter than a chainsaw. It obviously can't cut down massive trees but it does work fine for small ones or brush. And of course since I already own a Black
I love everything about this - the simplicity of the jig, the storytelling. You're right, I'll need to start bingewatching Uncle Knackers!
Hahahahha....good stuff Jesper! Yeah mate....doesn't get any easier than this one 👍 Hope you're well mate 👍😁🇦🇺
You can binge watch a cool channel called Sumo’s Projects as well if you want to 👀🙏😳🧐
@@sumosprojects I already have bingewatched that channel 😁 And be careful, channel owners typically don't like people who promotes themselves in the comments 😂😂
That would be good tip knackeeeers!!

Yeah man, let’s go cut some stuff. Like some cheese, ay?
I like the jig, and I can’t even dance!! I’ve gotta make me one. You have inspired me. Thanks to ya!
😂😂....you'll love it mate 👍
Love that this is only two pieces of wood! Thanks, Uncle Knackers!
No worries at all Delia and it works really well 👍😁🇦🇺
This is absolutely great! So much better than anything I've see online. Clear, concise and really easy to understand. Thanks a million!
No worries at all Dan! Glad you liked it mate and thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
Love the simplicity. Great project Knackers! Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Doesn't get any easier John 👍 Thanks as always for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
I'm making a mobile cabinet for my mitre saw, and was frustrated at my failure rate cutting accurately with my circular saw. Then I remembered this beastie you have in the vid here, and made that. It's made the WORLD of difference. Thanks Knackers :)
Briliant! Glad it worked for you mate 👍😁🇦🇺
That jig is fantastic. And it stops tear-out on the side where it lies. Great 👍
Cheers Andre! Glad you liked it mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Just made up a couple of jigs like this and !!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant . And now have perfect straight edges
Awesome! Well done Chris
Fantastic. Just bought myself a makita cordless circular saw. Will definitely be making this. Great stuff Shane. Top bloke.
👍😁...Cheers mate! Good luck with the new Makita....it's a great saw 👍😁🇦🇺
I've been making these for a couple of decades. I use 1/4" plywood, though. I also use the same principle to make router jigs, marking each jig for the router and size bit.
Yeah they're pretty popular David 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Ya, 1/4" ply is better, IMO. You don't lose as much cut depth, and the jig is much, much lighter. Note that being lighter can be detrimental in that the jig is more likely to slide out of position when cutting, but I always clamp it down (something I'd do even if the jig was 3/4" ply).
Just made one myself. Thank you for the instruction!! 👍👍
No worries mate! Hope it went well 👍😁🇦🇺🤞🤞
Excellent jig. Awesome, thanks for the info.

@@diyforknuckleheads 😊😊😊
Not knowing where abouts in Aus you are Good Evening although it could be a Goodnight... anyway I used a piece of angle aluminium for my straight edge a lot lighter, but only a metre long, as a base I used a spare vinyl lam floorboard with rubber glass storing mat as an anti-slip, you know the type they use in pubs on the glass shelves. Great vid, and shall be using the joke on me mates grandkids. 😀 👍🏼
Yeah good tip re the vinyl floorboard David. If l can get my hands on one l'll do it 👍 Hope you mates Grandkids like the joke 😂

Hi UK (Uncle Knackers), great video! Loved the joke...and the kids did too( NOT!) and neither did the wife. But, like you, I'm an old dad and I LOVE telling them your jokes. Cheers, Scotty (Norway)
😂😂....good stuff Scotty. Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
This is amazing! I feel like a total noob because nothing seems to be working. I've tried kreg acucute but I don't thinknim using it right. What's frustrating is lining up my blade where I want to make the cut vs where the edge guide rides against. This is way more intuitive.
I've seen the makita saw in other videos and it looks a great saw. Time to replace my cheap vlavk and decker saw.
Mate....you will love the Guide....so simple to use and it's very easy to make. 👍😁🇦🇺
lovely video and i must say it really is so worth the time to make one of those. another good question is whether or not its worth it to make a 2nd one, and then have some interlockin method to join 2 of them together lengthwise. for ripping in the other direction (so over 8ft typically). that would mosty depend how often you need that. since i suppose for a 1 off you can carefully reposition and clamp twice. and do longer rips in 2 separate passes
btw we were also previously discussing over on builds n stuff channel maybe the possibility of 3d printing adaptors to fit random regular circ saws onto a trac of another brand. and that is also another useful solution too. (in which case you have to buy a track, so is more expensive. and more hassle to design the custom 3dp adaptor)
however if you do have the will to go the extra mile, then of course it can also be darn handy to make a variety of different router plates / masks / adaptors too. but i suppose they also sell kits for that online too (for the most common and generic routing jobs)
anyhow many thanks. this is a great tool to make. very impressed also with the quality of the end product
Cheers for that! I probably wouldn't join two together as that would prove problematic but l would definitely make a longer one out of the full size sheet 👍 Appreciate your feedback and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
That's a great jig, looks like it turns a regular circular saw into a track saw.
Thanks Philip! Yeah mate, it's such a handy jig. Appreciate you taking the time to watch mate 👍😁🇦🇺
As usual, a good, short, to the point video with the humor. I like it.
With the board material you are using the glue is useless. Nothings stick to this board material.
Cheers Wilfried. The exterior grade glue isn't to bad but l wouldn't rely on it which is why l screwed the strip down. Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
🤣🤣🤣 it flys in a straight line again love the jokes lmfao keep posting vids brother much love from Texas 🫡
😂....Cheers mate 👍😁
I made one side for straight rip cuts and the other for 45 degree cuts for making French cleats.
👍👍
Very nice. I am thinking of a "tiny" version for my Makita HS301. As this small saw is a bit limited in depth of cut i will try to make it much thinner, perhalps acrylic sheet as a base material...
A good base material which is strong, yet thin is a laminated floor board and they are nice and straight as well 👍 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Uncle knackers is the dad we all wish we had.
😂😂...Cheers mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Mate, that style of saw guide is timeless and every woodworker has either made one or should do. I keep seeing an image of a moth flying in a straight line now 🤣
Hahahahhahaha....You'll be on the lookout now mate 😂 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺

Love ur video man, btw u got Kloop's looks
😂.....it has been said mate 😁 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Bonus point: physical exercise when moving/positioning it. Take that, Ozito, with your flimsy two-pieces track :large-grin:
Features still missing:
- what to do if the cut is longer than the guide - can't put clamps at both ends
- cutting at straight angle from/on an edge
Maybe they could fit in a future vid (even with extra basic tools, like the couple for optionals)
I used to have one off them , but some one needed it more than me !
Aahhhh.....that's no good Bob. Thanks for watching mate 👍
I could have used one of these yesterday
👍👍
Very nice, I'll have to make one. Do you have a video making the other circular saw jig, like a kreg saw jig?
Great jig. Just one thought - if you make sure your guide is straight both sides, you can use the second side for a router. Of course you then need to ensure you always use the same router and the same bit. Two jigs in one 👍
Very true Brian and l know of blokes who do just that 👍 Thanks for watching 👍🇦🇺😁
the Knackster never lets us down with a crappy video. 👍
👍😁 Cheers mate! 👍😁🇦🇺
Hey, Uncle Knackers....it's good to see you again. You were sorely missed....like a really bad sore!! ( maybe you could use that as a dad joke!!) But seriously, mate, it's nice to know you're still making the videos. Welcome back.
👍😁....Cheers Steve!
I have built almost the same jig. It is very efficient but is more adequated to large pieces. Once you have to cut smaller things I would suggest other models. The clamp part can be smaller but the heavier thia jig is, the better.
Is it sad that I wish I had an uncle like you? That my dad and all the uncles I was in contact with were substance abusers and I never learned this cool diy stuff? Uncle Knackers is imo my only real uncle as he teaches me and all my friends about the fun creative hobby in a way that is very endearing. Thanks Uncle K👍

I believe you are to some of us a relative. I adopted you.
And bam just like that everyone’s day is made better!! Thanks Uncle Knackers. Moth 💨 lol. That black ply, is the equivalent to melamine? With the price of lumber requiring one to mortgage their house for a project I want to get the right stuff. This need to make even more than the saw horses.
Thanks Mate! No it's not the same as Melamine. It's actually plywood with a protective coating 👍
