I have Veles29 and Sonicwake 36 and the best thing over the Veles29 is the overflip feature, i hit 70mph the Veles only with prop and materias is fiberglass but both are good i love it ,btw the Veles dont flipover if you know
well this one sure flips lol 70mph is hauling butt!!!
@@ExocagedRC yeppp!!! SW is very light but the Veles29 goes like a bullet stuck to the water, soon I will be opening a channel and I will be uploading the videos of all the boats, btw all runs are with garmin gps
@@nossrc5638 This is good to know, I'm deciding on my first boat. Know the Veles is fiberglass and doesn't have the STX2 radio. The STX2 is terrible in my Arrma trucks, makes me not want to buy the SW for this reason. How does the two radios compare in both boats? Which boat would you recommend for first boat?

Horizon has the green/black in stock but the white is due in January which I might like better. Gone to make up my mind soon, live in New Orleans and basically can run year round!

Glad...VERY glad, actually...to see you picked this up. Too bad it's not actually yours (tho, you could go get one). The SonicWake is considered to be one of the two best "first boat" options - the other is the TFL Pursuit, while will be my second FE. While that Spartan you were playing with a couple weeks ago is "nice & fun", the SonicWake is. "awesome & a blast".
Yes, you can cool it down, but, as you guessed, you'll need to change the tubing. Specifically, you'll need to replace the single-pickup rudder work a dual-pickup rudder, and drill two new holes in the hull (one on the transom, the other on the side, both next to the already-drilled holes). Then, run one line through the motor's cooling jacket, and the other through the ESC's cooling plate, with both lines going out the side.
This much is already done on mine...but, the ESC & batteries will still get hot, just not as hot. The next steps to really get temps down would be to upgrade the ESC, to something like the Seaking 180A, and to replace the EC5 connectors on the ESC & batteries with something larger...say, 6mm connectors. Now, quit reading, get those upgrades done, and hey back out on the water. I'll be taking mine out again tomorrow.
The problem with the cooling off this boat is it goes through the motor AND ESC. If you get the duel pickup rudder and run two lines, 1 for the motor and 1 for the ESC and it will stay a lot cooler. This has been a future purchase for me since I got my ProBoat Zelos, but I got tied up with other purchases like my Eflite F-18. Lol

I have one and its awesome I just got the miss geico 36 Proboat. the sonicwake is the best. I run spektrum 6s 5000 mah 100c and they are the best to run with this boat
I just had two smart battery turn no smart after only 2months -40runs. Has this happened to you with spektrum smart batteries. I have been getting them wet

Surpasses the Spartan in every way. Much better running hardware. Self right is amazing. All you need is a dual uptake rudder or transom mounted pick up, cooling problems gone. I added a third pick up on my transom and wrapped the cooling around my ecs5's and now nothing gets hot.

All upgraded parts are from offshore electronics. They have an entire section for the sonicwake, as well as props. They are easy to deal with.

You should try 'scale' radio-controlled sailboats. The battery packs literally last for several hours as opposed to 5 to 10 minutes. And if you're sharing the lake with any fishermen, swimmers, tubers or sun-bathers they have no reason to get annoyed with you.
I would say no way that's too slow!!! But I like crawlers a lot so...maybe!

Just bought this same colour with 6 s batteries instead of 2x 3s parks are shut at moment so can't use it as yet
Sometimes mine does the same ... so is qith esc off and transmitter on full throthle ultil it beeps...sorry just started 2 months ago on boats and after the mini mono got me ghe sonicwake...
When running your SW what kind of times are u getting out of your boat on 6s?
I run it yesterday for a short run until the receiver died. I’d guess 5-10 minutes depending on how hard you’re running it.

Also what c rating are you using? Should be atleast 50c.
they say 100c, you do know that no battery is above 30c when in normal temperature range right? I've only seen 31c on a battery and it was at about 125 degrees. I use an ESR meter to check them. So basically anything over 30c is a marketing gimmick

Would you choose this over the spartan? I've heard there's major heating issues with the sonic and seemed you had some. Also needed your touch for full throttle lol
yeah it got a bit warm, wish I had my temp gun. I'm sure it can be fixed with a better water flow setup. I like the spartan for sure but this thing is really nice. If I had to choose, I may get this one just because it self rights.
