I've got the Spektrum 100a 4000kv combo in my Gorgon and it's perfect. I put the biggest pinion that'd fit on. I think it was a 19t. It cogs a little bit on 2s but once it's rolling she rips. On 3s the cogging is gone and it's a really good kind of crazy. I ran it 6 months before i realized the motor isn't recommended for 3s but now after almost a year the motor still hasn't realized that.
That truck handles awesome, I definitely will get one and eventually convert it to 2 - 3s brushless maybe the same system that is in a Senton 4x4 3s blx or an aftermarket Hobbywing system. Keep up the good work Joe been loving your channel for all the new Horizon\Arrma\Spektrum stuff.
Hey love your videos !!! Thanks to your great content i m buying it for a present what pinion gear were you running and which one would you recommend for a spektrum 85a with spektrum 4000kv i was thinking 17t but no clue at all ?
Man that looks so stable and solid looks like it’s ez to control like it predictable. I think arrma knew exactly what they r doing with these new platforms. Grom chassis used all across the market rn, and now this gorgon/fury/vorteks chassis, can’t wait to see what else shares this platform in the coming months/years. So is there a 4x4 upgrade available for that chassis. Can’t wait to see it installed if there is. I wonder if this chassis can take 4wd
I scored a Tekno 410.3 as a roller for 100 bucks a few years ago. I might just have that RC forever. It's so good. Anyways, I threw a 3660 size can 3800 KV motor and that thing is so good at the track. Good take-off & top end speed. It is the heaviest RC I've ever messed with in might life. Anyways, my heart is with 2wd so I'm looking to get this & race it. Thanks for showing what it can do on 2s since that's about what I run pretty much all the time anyways. I want to see how this compares head to head to a 2wd brushless LCG Slash I have. I'm assuming pretty comparable. Our track runs indoor stamped clays so the mid-motor might actually perform better there. I'd be curious on a follow up video if we ever get a sway bar and/or if you jimmy-rig one up yourself if that's possible.
That suspension looks really good on the back stretch.!! They're going to be in stock around the 5th of October here in the UK, you know I'll be snatching one straight up.!! 👍 👍 👍 Great video as always Joe.! Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍
Well you're comparing apples to oranges. Do you want 2wd or 4wd? Different experiences. That'd be like looking at a buggy and saying "eh after I put X amount of money in it, i'd rather just get a monster truck." They drive & behave differently. For the record, this RC new is 169. Brushless Motor & ESC? $100. now I could either keep or sell that old system I'm pulling out and sell it to off-set the cost if I wanted to. But we'll ignore that for now. So you're at $269. Vs a new senton (unless you're buying a used one. Then it's a new RC vs old). Amain has the brushless Senton at $329. It's just not an even comparison between the two in price or style of drive here.
Totally new to the hobby and looking at getting one of these to start off and go brushless after I get the hang of it is the motor the only thing that’s needed to go brushless or are there other things that need to be upgraded
I just bought one and i dont understand why the suspension compresses so much that the bottom of the frame hits the ground after a jump. I think im gonna add bumpstops to mine
I dig it ❤ great first option for starting out👍
I'll take one of those over a slash any day 😊

This is becoming more and more compelling.
Our club always ran whatever stock electronics came in the 2wd sct, or a 13.5 sensored combo

Whoever tuned these Gorgon trucks knew what they were doing.

This little dude seems pretty great!
For the price, it can't be beat

Great review
Until you figure out something for sway bars, just go with a little heavier weight oil in the shocks to help control the body roll.
So if you want to buy a 2wd short course truck. Get this or the Losi 22s? I would think the 22s is more like a racer?

Bro I’ve watched you turn this into a monster.
Looks like a fun track truck🤙
Fan boys already mad here or what. This thing rips for the price. And its durable
Nice handling on the track for a stock setup. Could have bit more speed, but which "cheap" stock rc has a top notch system...
It's 2WD....Not gonna make me mad, lol. After spending the money to make it brushless I'd rather have a 4WD like the Senton.

@@SteveSoper1979Traxxas just lowered the price of the VXL 4x4 to $349
You can get a system for $75-$80. It comes down to personal preference
😂 there he/she is... 😂
@@redndeyesthere who is? I’m not a fanboy of anything. Just stating there’s systems that don’t break the bank
I would like to see this longer chassis with the Vortex body, if possible.

At least a esc and receiver at minimum
I have purchased All the new arrma gorgon voteks and fury. Love them all can wait to go brushless think the vorteks is first
Have you touched the servo yet or is the stock servo actually holding up??
I run 2400 kv castle sct 4s system from 2012 in my slash lcg.

Strange huh?
Tekno sct410 started the sct class! Decades ago😁🤷♂️

What is the spur and pinion you went with?
Stock spur 17t pinion
Why don't they just offer a brushless version as well. Or better yet a hundred dollar roller.
😀🏁🙌
meh
4x4 is boring
