      I recently purchased a clamp-on holder for this reason 😅 going to put it to use for the finale comparison.

    With the Fury sit the body on its roof, then lower the chassis upside down onto the body. Much easier to see the body mounts going into there mounting sockets, also easier to slide the body mount pins in when you can see them upside down.

    Nice vid bro 👌 i feel the brand loyalty thing, ive been stuck on traxxas for years, my brother keeps telling me to get an arrma. I might just pull the trigger and get my son a fury. But seriously other commenter was right, get you a LCG chassis kit for the slash, you will fall in love with it. I have had a few fully built 4x4s but ill always have a soft spot for the 2wd slash and rustler platform.

    • @K5_RC
      @K5_RC  24 дня назад +1

      @@minibike2099 yeah my Slash is almost fully built lol. LCG, full RPM upgrades, Castle Sidewinder SCT combo, steel mod .8 gears, EHD Driveshafts, etc. Safe to say it's quite a bit tougher now.
      I'm actually working on a comparison video that should be out soon, comparing both trucks with a brushless setup and gyro. And separate vids explaining the upgrades in depth.

      @@K5_RC I had a ultimate, which is pretty close to perfection as it was, but being me I had to tinker with shit 😂 I threw a hobbystar 4000kv motor and a hobbywing max10sct esc, MIP extreme duty axles, proline clip less body mounts, proline bumpers and mudflaps and proline flo-tek bash armor. The body was my favorite part, swear I hit a tree root doing 50+ and thought I totalled the car from a distance. Walked over and flipped it and had a few scratches and a little superficial crack in the body by the a pillar but the truck was fine.

    There is nothing toy-like about Arrma. It looks to me like the Arrma handles much better!

    • @K5_RC
      @K5_RC  2 месяца назад

      Just the chassis design makes it look a little less "serious" than something like a 6S Arrma, as well as the body colored plastics, so thats why I think it looks (asthetically) more toy ish. And yeah, it does handle a tiny bit smoother and more predictable than the Slash! But again, the Traxxas remote is much harder to use one handed!

      The Slash chassis is the same as it was when first started making it, back in the dinosaur days!

  • @deezrcz

    Awesome comparison! I would love to see you revisit this after installing a lcg chassis on the slash. I feel like they’re a little more comparable both having a proper lcg chassis. Also you mentioned swapping the tires, maybe try the same tires on both! 😉 You can’t just swap them since the slash has different offset in the front, but you can put a set of 4 traxxas rears on the fury. Btw a 3652 motor will not fit in the fury. The can is not long enough for the motor wires to clear. A 3660 is perfect. Subbed!

    • @K5_RC
      @K5_RC  Месяц назад +1

      @deezrcz Thanks bro! I plan on releasing a video soon with both of them brushless! I just gotta get a gyro for the Slash since I got one for the Fury, I want them to be as equal as possible! And yeah I'll use the same tires too.
      And actually, a 3652 does fit! That's what's it my Fury. It just needs to be at a certain angle, which I'll talk about in the next video.
      And yeah, I'll use Slash 4x4 tires on the Fury, I've got a set of them on my Senton.
      Thanks for the sub, dude! Definitely stick around, I've been planning a new comparison vid for a while! Just gotta get a gyro for the Slash!

      @@K5_RC awesome I can’t wait to see more. Good to know about the motor, I haven’t personally tried fitting one but every channel I’ve seen says the 2wd mega series won’t fit a 3652 without modding the chassis. I’m eager to see how it’s down for that opens up a lot more options.

      Yeah, I like it. The Fury has actually become my favorite platform to drive around. The only reason I said the Fury "looked" a little more toy grade was just from how the chassis looks. But it's incredibly durable and handles like a dream

      @@sanjayshaun8450 The Fury by far. I let my 4 year old nephew drive it a lot this week and he never broke it. Even brushless upgraded. This Slash is actually very fragile in comparison.
      However, my Slash is the one made before the Heavy Duty version. Heavy duty version should be much tougher, but I don't think it comes close to how tough the Fury is. My Fury has been through hell and hasn't broken a single part yet, but my Slash has had quite a few issues with less aggressive driving

    I have a slash vxl 4x4, I have spent a ton of money on parts for that thing and always breaking stuff. I wish I would have just gone with something like the arma and used the extra money for upgrading to brushless.

    • @K5_RC
      @K5_RC  2 месяца назад +1

      Everything breaks, man! My Fury just killed the motor so I installed a Hobbywing 10BL120 with the 4000kv 3652 motor. Not much faster on stock gearing, but shouldn't die anytime soon!
      The Slash 4x4 VXL is on my list of "to get" trucks, especially now they released it with the Heavy Duty upgrades. Should be much tougher! But generally, I'd agree Arrma is tougher out of the box in most cases, but Traxxas is doing good with Heavy Duty parts. Nothing is perfect, though!
