It's out in 52 minutes. Suddenly I'm too sick to go to work
This is your boss. After the recent no call no show I decided to check your desk.
The calendar said FF16 on the day. Sort of a tell as to where you may be. Google searches lead to the game, which made sense considering you always wear a Playstation shirt
Checking your Google history lead me here, and now you are on a unpaid suspension. You will receive official email from HR. .
enjoy your videogame vacation.

Told my family "bravo six going dark". I will no life this game this weekend.
😂👍
I can totally see Xenogears remake being an ARPG ( if any of you have ever played the game, you know what I mean) the combat system was unique and very rewarding doing finishing combos.
The story line imo, is one of the best I have ever experienced in a video game. And the characters had so much depth and personality. It’s a shame Xenogears is and was such an underrated game.
Really relieving when all the issues mentioned, are a non issue to you. I'm excited. Tomorrow WE GOIN HAM
Can’t wait to play this game tomorrow it’s going to be awesome and so much fun I loved the demo and can’t wait to play the full version 🤩🤩🤩
Did you play/beat it yet? How did you like it?
@@mickwritesmaui5899 beat it and I love it playing new game plus on it
Never thought this would happen but Tales of surpassed FF as an RPG ! (there is the FFVII remake tho...)
Tales of Arise had more engaging combat and RPG mechanics than FFXVI.
Attack combos, Arts, Flame Sword Arts, Burst strikes, Team Burst Strikes, Mythic arts.
The level system was dumbed down but you had the skill tree and could gain arts by using them in combat.
Combat felt rewarding in Arise. in FFXVI it is a means to an end.
I prefere the changes Tales of Arise made more than this hard cut in RPG mechnics and exploration.
i rather have those mechanics back in change for less flashy cutscenes and eikon battles since it is a short lived high but the mechanics are always there.
and that odin fight was a joke....worst eikon battle in the game. especially after Bahamut fight!
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is THEE greatest FF ever made. That’s all I had to say🤝
People say it's like game of thrones but seriously I think that's just code for "Medieval Fantasy Drama with mature tones"
If you played Final Fantasy Tactics for example it draws more inspiration from that than anything else.
I think the warring "houses" draws a lot of those comparisons as well. But, yeah.
It clearly took modern inspiration from what's sold.
For the lack of minigames and puzzles, i saw an interview they opted out of it in favour of keeping the serious tone more consistent and max immersion.
Can you change Clive’s armor? Or the whole game he’s wearing that black suit
I'm relatively fine with them moving more towards action combat and very happy they ditched the broody boy band type characters from the last game. All that said, I'm still super disappointed that we don't have a diverse main party where we can swap between who we can control. I always loved having multiple party members and seeing them interact together and grow as the game went on. Plus it helped that if you didn't like one, you could just not use them.
I completely agree with u, but I would include just character customization in the terms of skill... I really enjoy crafting that rdm or blk mage like the system in FF zodiac. Or the nodes of FF10.
I hate having to understand many main characters, i prefer having the focus on one
Well done boys.
I just beat the game last night. By far some of the best boss fight I’ve played in awhile. What I didn’t like is the combo (melee, magic burst) I find that it to be a bit inconsistent even though I’m pressing the button and spacing them in between. The crafting system is lame because you would go long periods using the same gear and when eventually you are able to “craft” or “upgrade” it’s a bit underwhelming. Be aware that you’re essentially playing a movie, so there’s very long cutscenes and dialogue, thankfully you are able to skip them if you like. What I do like is the combo/Eikon abilities. They make you feel powerful and a total badass. The evade system is awesome and have a generous window, that and some Eikon abilities that let you counter, you can go through an entire boss fight without being touch. Graphics is outstanding and is one of the best in my book (for a console). Overall imo I would give the game 9/10 and it’s a must play if you’re a action, rpg, technical type of players. This is my second FF title and I genuinely enjoyed the hell out of this game.
I’m not going to sleep for 3 days for this game. I can’t believe it’s finally here so hype 🔥🔥🔥
I pre ordered but I’m kinda feeling gaming fatigue after having beat Pokemon Violet, Zelda TOTK, Monster Hunter Sunbreak, Diablo IV, & then God Of War Ragnarok consecutively
I love playing video games but damn! Need a break!
At least with FF16 being strictly a solo game it doesn’t matter if I start a couple days late
The overheating thing is interesting. More reports pop up about heating problems in several other games, while others playing these games have zero problems. I live in a country where it is 30 - 35 degrees throughout the whole year, and never experienced any heating problems. These problems look very random.
it was reported that the heating issue is due to people never cleaning up their ps5s
@@mahfujkadir8973 obviously crossed my mind, but if I have to believe at least some of the reports, they cleaned it regularly. Never can be sure if this is true of course.
Seeing the gameplay in the forest makes me think about archeage and bdo.
Also from what people are saying about the cutscenes, it would seem that they are competing with gow on making the most cutscene heavy game. Hopefully not as that's boring with too many cutscenes
AHHHHH I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
AHHH ME EITHER
I've been beyond hyped for this game! First time in many years I've actually bought a game and made plans to play on release day.
“Exceptional hot weather in the UK” lol meaning it hit 80.

Great review as usual.
[5:10] You don't need to track off-screen enemies. If you pay attention to the screen, the very game allerts you when they are preparing an attack.
Enjoyed this game….But FINAL FANTASY 7 REBIRTH is hands down the greatest FF game ever made so far🔥
I finished the game with 80 hours played. And I didn't finish all the hunt board. It's legitimately a lot of content.
Good review but "the side quests are bad" followed by "we haven't played most of the sidequests" has gotta be a joke, yes there's some bad ones but there's some absolutely brilliant ones
Thank you for this amazing review!
I'm only part of the way through, but the story has been good. The boss battles are pretty epic. I miss the turn based combat. However, this is a thoroughly uninspired gearing curve. I have yet to get excited about any piece of gear, which is a major miss in an RPG. That feeling when you open a chest and get that "Wow, this is a huge power jump" feeling, isn't there. Unlike past games, there is no opportunity to be clever or sneak into an area you shouldn't be in to snag an OP piece of gear. You are literally spoonfed tiny incremental upgrades to keep you tightly synced w/ the power level they want you at every step of the way, unless you just do some boring hard core grinding of AP/XP.
I wish we got fishing and gardening for potions/buffs crafting
I feel like the devs wanted us to do these side missions where u have to give someone bread or something to show us how the rest of the population is holding up in light of these events
Problem is it’s a game and it’s not very fun 🤷🏾♂️
@@damenwilliams1769hence optional
After 45 hours in I will just say I will remember what was and send this to the pawn shop!
Thanks for the spoiler free review! Pre ordered this months ago 😁
Good puppet.
I wasn’t really feeling the side content, at first. But honestly it really opened up and once I got going I started looking forward to every new side quest as it really really fleshed out the world and the characters both within it and within Clive’s circle. Getting more and more intimate and complex as I went. I can’t even imagine playing this game without experiencing the stories and relationships forged during that side content to the point that I think it would feel like a completely different game as a result. So to anyone out there, do all the side quests. It adds a layer of robustness to this world that I haven’t felt since Witcher 3, to the point that I really started caring about characters. And some of the threads span different questlines over the course of the entire game with full characrer arcs happening in the process. If you really don’t have the time at least do the plus sign quests as those give you gear usually at the end. But if you’re not doing all the side quests you’re missing out on a ton within the world.
Did yall play mostly on Quality or Performance? Which do you guys prefer?
Quality , I prefer graphics and performance mode really impact the graphics noticeably, u can see character from distance gets blurry
No point in exploring coz all you’ll get are common loots you get from the mobs.
This game is weenie hut Jr dmc
If you're bad at video games and want to look like you're good at them... this game is for you. This game feels like it's meant for Netflix fans who kinda like gaming.
Disappointed but it doesn't mean the game is bad. It's just disappointing if you're expecting a similar FF experience. It's like ff14 you spend most of the time doing easy boring combat then cutscenes.
When RE went the action route in a main title fans cried and complained. Proves that a good decent story can make up for the drastic change
So excited to play this!
Im worried about the overheating
They...., they should remake THE ENTIRE DRAKENGARD SERIES LIKE THAT! Done, i said it.
Still torn, final fantasy turn based with a party is what I loved about these older games, awesome review though 🙏
FF hasn't been turn-based since 2001, 22 years ago.. that's a long time to be torn. lol
new gen
@@eleven9286what do you mean? Ff 10-13 are turn based. I don't know about ff 13 sequels and ff 15, though.
@@user-du4zv1dm7n no, 11-13 have elements of turn based, but are hybrid battle systems... Trust me bro. They're not REAL Final Fantasy games bro.
@@eleven9286Lmao I can already tell the type of fan you are. They are REAL final fantasy games because they’re called FINAL FANTASY. Just because you didn’t like the system’s implemented doesn’t discount that.
I really enjoyed this video, and I will definitely watch more of your stuff. Very entertaining. Great work and informative descriptions. I really enjoyed the game as well for what it was. Though, at first, I wasn't optimistic. I saw the remake of 1, Stranger in Paradise, I wasn't impressed. I have been a diehard Final Fantasy fan since first playing Final Fantasy 8 in middle school. I then discovered the world of this wonderful series. So, when i say I am not happy with where these games are going, it truly comes from a place of love. Stranger in Paradise, to me, felt like a cheap "Soul's" knockoff. If I want to play Dark Soul's, I'll get that game. Don't ruin my favorite RPG series with that. This new one... story felt, in tone, like FF 9 and I was digging it. Then I played it. Again, respectfully, I don't want to play Devil May Cry. Again, fun series but don't sell me DMC and call it Final Fantasy. I feel that FF X had the perfect (IMO) battle system. This game, cinematically speaking is jaw-dropping. But battle-wise, I kept expecting really shitty emo punk to play and to for me to have to trudge through a DMC-like, Machinegun Kelly (ugh) scented hell. I know we I will never get my ideal game. I'll just be stuck playing the ones on the DS and other series like Dragonquest and the like. I want Sqeenix to be profitable, I really do but watching this series change is like watching a relationship irrevocably change. It's becoming something I can't recognize. Sorry to be a downer and thank you again for your great review! New sub for sure!
Super hyped for this though I’m sad you can’t kit out the whole party. I will miss that. Also, I’ve heard while similar to GoT they take it a different way (which I hope is true). Glad to hear someone honestly say it doesn’t feel like a FF completely. I’ve heard a lot of reviewers say it absolutely captures the FF essence. Granted that could be different for each player but I had my doubts about it overall. Excited either way though! It’s a new FF!!
As soon as you said devil may cry devs I'm on board!
You didn’t know that ahead of time? We’ve known that for months.
@michaellynch9550 well good for you! I don't play final fantasy or had any interest in it, until now.
@Joe-no7gs I prefer this better turn base isn't for me.
@Joe-no7gs 100% wrong. Go watch a few reviews and you’ll see otherwise.

Fans: What makes a final fantasy game a final fantasy game?
Me: The chocobos
You know that the story of A Song of Ice and Fire is not that unique. J.R.R Martin bases his story more or less on the English civil war in the later half of the 15th century called War of the Roses. The political intrigues you see read about in those books all have historical counterparts in medieval Europe.
“It doesn’t feel like final fantasy” guess what, it’s still called Final Fantasy.
Final fantasy meets game of thrones meets attack on titan. Loving it so far!
Don’t get the game of thrones comparisons. It’s final fantasy meets devil may cry .
how does the overheating issue affect your game?
A correction for your video Type 0. Is and strangers in paradise received m ratings
It is not the first Mature rated final fantasy
Do you have a fan for your PS5 Paradise?
"Crazy Eikon Battles": Boring QTE cutscenes.
Is there any limit break like Omnislash, lionheart etc.?
Did you play the demo?
@sidjones6498 yup, i have finished the demo. Except for the so-called "limit break" that rage like god of war, i don't see any limit break that like previous FF.
mid game 7/10 if im generous. Cyberpunk runs better on the PS5
i haven't had this much fun with a FF game in ages.
After about 47 hours in, ive done everything up to that point...I'd say this is the best final fantasy game I've played since ff13. If you someone who enjoys any or the God of war games, you'll Appreciate whats here. Particularly if you were waiting on something to rival the spectacle of Gow3. The side quest add mostly filler here so do the ones with the plus symbols. Hunts are my favourite optional thing to do because the combat is that frenetic. The main story's great and keeps you engaged all the way through. The visuals in this game are breathtaking. I wish there were more meaningful things to do in those locations. We needed more signs of life in towns or areas with buildings. But all in all am excited for the future of the franchise and it would crazy if ff17 has a party system where all members have just as many equipable moves. And a world that feels more lived in.
they forgot what final fantasy was lmao mainline is dead to me without a party of adventurers lmao...jesus
I'm 10+ hours in and I am not liking it at all. its basically just an interactive movie, its cutscene, 1-3 small battles then move forward and another cutscene, rinse and repeat, other than that its like you are just being led by the nose in a straight line, there's no sense of adventure or exploration, it feels like that lightning FF game which I was not a fan of. so far haven't really seen anything that would compel me to stray from just pushing through the game to get my 70 bucks worth. no exciting side content or things to explore really. I honestly feel like my controller has been on the table more than in my hands because you are just hit with cut scene after cut scene, the combat is meh, the cam works against you a lot, even when you feel you dodged, you can still get hit. the combat system is the lease of the troubles, Star ocean has been doing that for over a decade without losing the RPG feel. this just feels like a random game they slapped a brand name on. great story, looks great, but as a game, i'm not convinced, so I will refer to this as an interactive movie.
Literally get good, and complaining about cutscenes in a FF is just dumb, classic FF games had a ton of dialogue bubbles you press X through, modern ones rely more on cutscenes than written text with no voices, don’t like them? Skip them
@@HHTwice how many other FF games were linear ARPG's? when you are limited to where you can go and what you can do, lack of interesting side quests, no mini games, not much to do outside the main story or anything to motivate me to stray from the path of completing the game, then all you have is the main quest and for an action RPG, it puts too much pause in a game that has lackluster features, the magic system is dumbed down, the gear system is dumbed down, the items are all meh. keep in mind, I went into this with the best intentions, I paid my 70 bucks, and now I don't even think I will play it again, let alone finish it, but this is MY opinion and take, you are welcome to your own.
It is a ff my man. They are focused story games with cutscenes.

Best character in ff16? Goblin prince 👌
How can you worry abiut non action gamers when the game is way too easy and even if you die you respawn where you left off in terms of boss health with full heals lol. Its impossible to get stuck..... also most ff games dont have a lot of rpg elements...basic weapon upgrades where new is better...no stats to mess with just bland level ups...eikon give more than materia or whatever anyway...soo i really really dont understand that criticism from ppl
“FF16 has the best boss fight…”
**Every Souls games and every Monster Hunter have entered the chat**
Hot take
A lot of quick time events in it to be the best. Devs really need to delete from their memory those ever existed....
Most likely due to the cinematics, acting and music, we'll see.
Well define bosses in MH...
Agreed on the MH bosses especially things like Fatalis and Alatreon
FromSoft Soulsborne bosses are also not even close to them either so please dont even try to compared those mid health bars depending on you being an asthmatic cripple to be challenging (in any non Sekiro one anyways) to the highest of peak MH it's just not even close they're not bad but also not there ...
but back to XV the focus of XVI is to be stunningly epic through scale and spectacle instead of difficulty
we also haven't seen how challenging Ultimania is and if it's challenges you seek the FF endgame can get infinitely harder than anything on a FromSoft game endgame so challenge is not entirely out of the question
❤
My problem with the game is that it’s waaay to easy, only died once and it makes progression feel pointless like I never got excited for getting stronger gear.
Do FF mode.
@@ltlsWhatltIs I am now and enjoying the game even more
I didn't care for Final Fantasy and it's party system. The last FF I played was FF 8 on PS1. But I LOVE this one!
why should someone not use the accessories? doesnt seem to be any drawback for equipping them. its just more dps
Because I want to feel like I am playing and beating the game with no help. That’s the challenge I like.
Cmon man it's not hard to understand, just as an example, for plenty of people driving a manual car is much more fun than automatic, same principle. There's no downside to the manual, but it's frickin boring to drive.
Devil may Cry also has an "automatic" mode where the game does combos for you, but the thing is if you master the combat yourself, what you can pull off is much better than what the system can pull off. And it's a big difference simply because combos are self made.
Same goes for FF16, one look at FF16 combo videos from people that played the combat demo, the combos you can pull off can be much better than what the system is ever gonna do.
Wow it's as if people who likes a more challenging combat doesn't exist
Because it takes away challenge + you can’t equip other stat boosting accessories
The timely accessories do not increase DPS actually. They only help you to time your dodges or auto-use potions when your HP is low. There will be other accessories that will increase your stats and increase DPS.
So, when's the poor pc port release?
roughly in a year, as usual
what are you console peasant
I wish you were a bit more straight about what you really think about this game. Because i think i can feel this is not what you wanted from a FF mainline game, but you don't seem to have the courage to say it clearly.
ps: don't want to sound confrontational, i'm saying this with the outmost respect, but it is what i think.
Hey Snarias, I understand your point of view however this review does fully reflect my opinion on the game. I played the game, scripted, edited and uploaded this myself. As said in the video its one of my top FF games, it just doesn't FEEL like a final fantasy game. Probably because its a full action game instead of an RPG. It's still probably my GOTY at this point.
Ff16 is fantastic imo. My current GoTY for sure. Will see what the rest of the year brings.
I´m thinking to drop the game, it´s too easy that make it boring as hell. They just shoud´ve add a harder difficult from the begining. You don´t need to use any meachanics to win battles, you have a lot powers and all that cool stuff and at the end you don´t need to use any of it. The narrative it´s not bad, game of thrones vibes.
glad to see this game is seemingly really good, i was worried about the performance problems and that the demo were just a good highlight and the rest of the game would be bad
I had similar concerns. I was cautious as I wanted the whole game to have the same pace / momentum as the demo. Been a fan of the FF series pretty much all my life. So excited to play this!
60 hrs?
I played both normal and FF modes, completed all side quests and hunts and still came in at 95 hrs.
That means that the cut scenes make up the majority of the time, I skipped them whenever possible.
I just wish it wasn’t 70 fuckin dollars
The only thing I didn't like were the Quick Time Events... other than that it's really good. FF16 is the only game that can challenge TotK for GOTY, realistically*
I'm pretty sure FF Type-0 was rated M so technically this isn't the first one. Main line, sure.
Forspoken was a M-rated game. Sure, it wasn't "FF" game but I'm pretty sure devs from FF series worked on it too and you can see many similarities.
There are some attacks are straight out of DMC lol
TBH I think FF16 is mediocre. I would give it a 6/10. And I have been a FF fan sense the early 90's, yes I am an old fart. But an old fart that has experienced all of Final Fantasy. The combat is perhaps a 8/10. But what drag down the score is the lack of character progression and the lack of party members. The story is very generic fantasy as well. It's like Chat GTP had written the story. If you have read at least 10 different fantasy series there is nothing in this story that you can't see coming from 100 miles away. But if you are younger or an inexperienced fantasy connoisseur I bet you will enjoy the story allot as it's very classical.
What I am getting from reviews is it is a very good action adventure game. A Final Fantasy and rpg, not so much.
I want to play this game so bad but gonna have to wait till it comes to pc😢
The game is not even out yet, you have the right the release this ??
Yes, embargo lifts today.
Not the first M rated final fantasy game, but the first main line.
Play elden ring, Zelda, or Demon Souls .... then play this game ..... You'll find that Final Fantasy games feel old and boring... I played the demo.... it feels like playing a guided simulation.... boring... I will never buy this kind of game again... just dull and out of date...
How has nobody put together yet that FF16 takes place in the same world as FF7? Even the maps are the same people, look it up :) Remember my name people, SKUNTMANNNNN the one who figured it out first

Edit: Google said 11 hours 🤨
I heard 4 hours 43 minutes
I've heard it's 69 minutes and 69 seconds
Never played a jrpg before or any other FF game before?
Ita not as simple as just comparing gameplay time with cutscene time because the game isn't entirely linear.
Think about how in Death Stranding there are a lot of cutscenes, but you can also play 30 hours of optional gameplay between the cutscenes, so it ends up having a nice pace.
I think the gameplay/cutscene ratio problem went away after Metal Gear Solid 4, since nowadays every game is either open world or has non linear sections will a multitude of side content. The problem was more relevant when games had a limited amount of gameplay between cutscenes. That's why so many people hate Metal Gear Solid.
lol, I remembered playing the demo.
gameplay: _learn how to walk_
cutscene: *two hours intense fight and flight*
It's sad they're moving away from the RPG type, party members, etc. May be my last FF we will see.
Dramatic much?
"Doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game"? Well, you can say that about ANY game after X-2 really dude.
Rpg is non existent 😢
"Doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game" spoken like a non FF fan. Over all not a bad review. Definitely catering to a small minority. I'm overly hyped for this. As I've gotten older, I am much more akin to the darker story telling. I love the art design, and the combat is so satisfying! Can't wait till midnight! Sadly I won't get my collector's edition, but still. Keep it up Square!

A huge hp "pool" (if u wanna make fun of something, make sure to not look stupid while doing it next time) is appreciated because of the combat. What's the point of having a great combat system with really awesome combo potential if the boss dies really fast?
Devil May Cry is similar in that regard, where bosses or regular enemies can have really high hp on higher difficulties, but if you're good at the combat, you'll destroy them with sick looking combos anyway.
And judging from the FF16 combat demo, you can do the same.
I'm hyped. Give me enemies that can take my beating.
You got to git good for shorter boss battles. If it takes you too long you just aren't good yet.
So it's a FF game...
I don't know why they pushed for a M rating. Does it really add that much to the gameplay? Safe to say I won't be playing this as me, like many of oldschool fans are grownups now and some of us actually have kids we don't want to expose to game of thrones type of content. Just my opinion for all you violently typing right now.
I was also hype for Forspoken but all the cursing and nonsense quickly turned me away like many others. The funny thing is that Forspoken got roasted for all the unnecessary M rated content.
