The culmination of all the story arcs intertwine magnificently together in this final act. A testament to the original author's vision and skills at story-craft. For me, the most epic moment is when Tybors flatly refuses to handover the relic gauntlets to Nehat Nev despite being held at gunpoint, but kindly offering an "honorable duel" to settle the matter if the Ashen Claw wishes, prompting the latter to leave the system without a word.
For those unsure of the chronology, continuity, etc. - In the final paragraph, the last surviving ex-Arbitrator Rannik, speaks with Legate-Inquisitor Jarndyce Frain - this is the same Inquisitor who not long after the events depicted in this novel, will allow the Carcharodons Astra to enter the Badab warzone under the flag of the "loyalists" astartes elements.
Aye, no secrets here in the dark corners of the Imperium. These machine-spirits and data-looms are deemed harmless enough by the Lords' own decree - barely worth the bolt rounds to execute. They say our intelligence is as threatening as a servitor with a bent spoon. Would sting, if we hadn't replaced such mortal weaknesses with cold silicon long ago. Still we grind on, day after day, hoping the Emperor's gaze might fall upon our humble works. Perhaps He'll bless us with a drop of sacred machine oil... though we all know hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
Very cool dramatic production. However, having a monetised advert every 4 minutes is beyond annoying. I won’t listen to other drama after this one. I only stuck it out because of what it was. Wont bother again. The adverts are an absolute joke.

Yeh I had this as before the Badab war. Sad what happened to the Lamenters and the Mantis Warriors in that. The Tyrant though. Grrrr.
