0:04 Silvio's "Leave the fuckin' cheese alone" look, perfected pre-Soprano's. He knew he was going to give that cheese speech even back then, look how prepared he is for it already.
@@RawOne911 Not in those days especially musicians. Back in the 70's to 1992, people that were in their late 20's to 35 looked like someone 45 to 50 years old. For example, I had a picture of my mom from 1980 and she was 33 but looked 40. It wasn't until the mid-90's that people started to aged 10 years younger. Plus Steve looks great for 35 at the time when age was moving forward a bit quicker than now.
Portrait of the artist as a young goomba! If there's such a thing as having a pure rock n roll heart, then it beats inside Stevie. Keeper of the flame for us all...and 'this thing of ours.'
DC Fixx Silvios' death was never confirmed actually, they just showed him in a coma. That's probably the one thing that pissed me off about The Sopranos, Silvio was the most level headed guy in Tony's crew there was actually even a moment where Tony said to Sil quote unquote "I count on you to be my most level headed guy" how the fuck could they not confirm whether or not such an important character that has been in the show since the fucking pilot had died, not to mention he's a common fan favorite. I don't know exactly what David Chase was thinking there but oh well it was still the greatest television series ever made to this day in my opinion.
He looks 22 here he was actually 35. Sopranos is only roughly 12 years away from this video. He aged a lot in 12 years. Silvio wasn’t old.. but he wasn’t the kid in this video.
I know. I'm starting to get a little worried, cos I'm mid thirties now, and I still look really young, but I'm only just starting to look, and feel, my age, after years of abusing my body. Seeing how much this guy changed I'm a little over a decade, makes me wonder what on earth will happen to me! I mean stevie still looks great as an older man, so I can only hope I'm at least half as lucky!
He is a role model for many youth. A positive model of a hard working band with amazingly music that still lives today. After 40 years the lyrics are more appropriate. I AM A PATRIOT, SOLIDARITY.. LOVE HIM TODAY AND YESTERDAY.
His work with Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes was phenomenal, as was his solo albums. "Voice Of America", his politically charged album, was ahead of it's time.
Funny looking back at this. I remember it all so well, but it seems like a million years ago now. Steve, Southside, David Sancious, Mad Dog.. Big man, were all part of the scene on Cookman, Kingsley and Ocean Aves. Sometimes they would just be hanging out at Mrs Jay's having a beer and onion rings, just like everyone else. Who knew...
If you haven't yet, I strongly suggest you watch his show "Lillyhammer", not sopranos quality but definitely a fun quick watch. Especially if you want more Silvio
I REALLY hope I get to meet this man & collaborate w/him someday. I like everything about him: his mind, his skin color, the way he plays w/his hands, the fact that he's from NJ, his style, his demeanor, his style, his intelligence, oh MAN! Please God, let us meet each other someday.
Lillehammer is such an odd tv series both for a guy from the Sopranos to star in as well as Steven, a guy from an extremely popular rock and roll band to star in. It’s like the movie “Cowboys vs Aliens”. You’d hear that and laugh and say no way could that work. It’s stupid. It doesn’t go together. But he did it and it worked! I give him all the credit in the world. He’s a multi talented guy who has a far larger range both in music as movies than you’d think. He deserves all the success.
Weird guy but a musical genius. Be is one hell of a songwriter. Only steve can write a twist( soul power twist) 40 years after the twist is over. He put the asbury jukes together. Inhave had the opportunity of meeting him in greenwich village a few times and always had time to chat.

He was perhaps the most unusual casting choice in crime drama history. Yet he managed to own the role of Silvio.
What's even more unusual was he was originally offered the part of Tony Soprano
@@clayton7993 wow really? i never heard that but it more or less makes sense
@@clayton7993 I think that the role of Silvio was perfect for him. He did kind a play a version of Tony in Lylihammer though. a boss.
And he never even had ever acted before though either, he was actually casted and discovered by a hall of fame speech that he gave back in the day
For me they took him in that role of "The Sopranos" because younger he looked so much like Al Pacino.
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in"

John Spry yes..it's Chrissy dude.
I thought the same thing. He looked just like Chris, from the Sopranos, when I first saw this.
I don't think many people realize how much of a genius Stevie is
Steven couldn’t make this interview so Michael Imperioli filled one for him.
I thought he looked just like Christopher too😂
Crap Michael could play Silvio when Tony is in his late 20’s early 30’s
Lillyhammer is extraordinary!!!!!!
Van Zandt is simply gifted beyond words!!!!
DAMN!!!
flirtwd The Sopranos is much better but Lillhammer wasn't bad, sad it got cancelled.
Both were epic. Stevie was incredible in lillihammer. Definitely deserved his own spin off 😂
So disappointing it didn't go further
Al Pacino and Anthony Kiedis had a love child
🤣🤣
WELL, AL Pacino is Italian as well. That might me the reason. Lol

Funny, but SVZ has gotta be older than Anthony Keidus I'd guess
I was wrong! Anthony Kiedus is indeed older than SVZ. My apologies
Get his book and listen to the audio version. Absolutely spellbinding listening to his voice, his life, his beliefs. Brilliant.
