Huge Thank You to Motor Ville Royal Enfield Bangkok for this amazing opportunity.
Riding in Bangkok was so different from anywhere I rode!
In this episode I will pick up the bike from Royal Enfield Bangkok and will ride straight in to a central City traffic.
We will ride to a famous China Town and to watch the Fireworks for APEC on the river.

I think it is safer going 100mph plus in the states on a sportbike than riding the speed limit in bangkok, that traffic gives me anxiety, you have bigger balls than me.

Fascinating tour of the city and events, also a bit terrifying at the same time to brave that traffic at night, no less! Thanks for setting a good example with full gear. :)

The best motorbikes for negotiating Bangkok traffic is:
Manual: Honda Wave 125cc or 110cc
Auto: Honda Click 160cc or 125cc; Honda Scoopy 110cc (these are perfect for shopping with the foot well and hook to carry stuff as well as under the seat.
The reason is that they have a short wheel base; narrow handlebars and tight turning circle.
If you want to be young and have fun: Honda Grom 125cc
If you want to be cool: Honda Monkey 125cc or the new Honda DAX 125cc
A good commuter and Bangkok city bike is the Honda CB300R
If a shorter Thai, then a Honda Rebel 300 or 500cc
A 300cc is considered a Big Bike in Thailand and well adequate.
I say Honda because Honda have 72% of the Thai market and spares and shops for parts are everywhere.

Love all that mayhem and chaos! The mix of defensive and aggressive riding, risk thrill overload! But you are right, every road user is completely at one with it, that's all they know. So you can kind of trust their skills in the chaos and just focus on holding your own! What a rush×100!! This was great to see, well done both of you for having the balls and skills to nail that and conquer those streets. 👊👏👏👏

They love their dragons and fireworks. Terrific show (and so nicely filmed). Well done setting a great example wearing helmet and riding gear through the bussling Bankok chaos, bravery, caution and skill (fear for all those pillion girlfriends risking it wearing neither).

I can say, though, traffic in the big cities in Brazil is a lot crazier than in Bangkok. Everyone is constantly changing lanes, like all the time there.

These Husquis and the KTMs under 390 cc are all manufactured by Bajaj in India...and apart from the South American and Asian markets, they dont meet manufacturing standards elsewhere...but i think the brands and working on that and they should be out over the course of time. Bajaj in fact is also in the middle of manufacturing the mini Triumph to try and get at the RE market in the UK!

I was thinking following my guide, that to him is normal, like all those schooner riders who grew up riding with they parents with no lids or gear. Only when you compare you see the difference.

@@tomboyabit A lot of them don't really have much of a choice. Lower incomes, car centric roads and cities, and inefficient/infrequent public transportation means that underbones and scooters are all many could afford whilst still being a part of the economic engine of society. As such, many small bikes are decades old and since proper certified riding gears (other than helmets) are expensive to them and traffic is so slow (and in the case of rural villages, non-existent), they are only worn occasionally in the rare chance they have a bike with a large enough fuel tank to ride across states.

    • @tomboyabit
      @tomboyabit  Год назад +1

@@IskDude980222 I understand that. In fact many people ride no faster then the cyclists in UK.
2 wheels here is not the luxury like in the seasonal European countries. It’s a transport. Like you say the most convenient and most affordable to many.
Still to me each and one of them are riders. Most more skilled then those who can afford the bike as a toy.

The reason is simple: Either you have the permission to only drive the 125 or you have the full license. And who on the earth would buy a 23 hp bike with a full license if the 44 hp 401 is available? And it has to be cheaper too. It just makes no sense.
