Okay, even though I fine tooth combed the intro about 25 times I STILL missed the fact I typed a 2 instead of a 3 for the price. I was too focused on the complicated and not on the simple. The MSRP is $34.99.
I placed my perorder for Warduke, the figure I've been waiting for since I moved out of my mom's house 40years ago, on new years eve '21, at the time it said it would release in April '22, and since April every time the calendar hits a new month so does the "release date". A touch frustrating but all things considered, A) I love BBTS B) the supply chain breakdowns aren't "really" anybody's fault (I know I know shhh) C) I've been waiting 40years another few days/weeks/months ain't gonna kill me D) Besides Maybe a Storm Shadow that I never could get, the OG Warduke was the coolest action figure (not 1 1/4 scale) I ever saw as a (smaller) kid. Sometime very soon it will be mine and that makes me almost giddy
I don't like to do preorders for this very reason. but I've been watching the Warduke release for about as long as you. right now I'm seeing February as the release date but we shall see.
I opened mine a couple days ago. Despite the fact that I'm already a big Neca fan, I'm still blown away by how much detail, paint & accessories they packed into these things for the price. The OG toy line was a little before my time, but I'm still all in on these. Great review!
Yeah, this is one of those toylines that should have been right in my wheelhouse as a kid, but I somehow missed it. Probably a case of my parents going "we already buy you too much other stuff".....and they did, haha. Making up for it now.
Great review. Very thorough. I absolutely love the way you have links to online stores to purchase these from, with the cost of the product, and the shipping. That is the first time I have seen this feature to scroll through to easily compare, instead of going from site to site. Nicely done. And, I still have my childhood warduke. I remember buying him at toys r us. It was the only d and d figure I ever bought. I had to have him because he was so cool. I purchased it with the buck rogers bad guy fighter. It stands out in my memory because I went in alone to buy toys, and I didn’t have enough money. A lady in line behind me paid the difference. Nearly 40 years later, I remember the embarrassment, not having enough money. But, the generosity of that woman. Is why I remember this purchase so vividly.
This is for me, one of the best action figures of all times. I love it! A long time ago, I bought a figure of this character in a street market, without even knowing who it was. In Mexico role-playing games were not very popular in those years, I bought it just because I liked the character, I still have it. Some time later I found out that it was Warduke from "Dungeons and Dragons". I recently saw that it had gone on sale relaunched by Neca, and I immediately decided that I would look for it. Last week, I saw it live in a department store and bought it without much thought. It is a wonderful figure, beautiful. My collection sector is Batman, basically, but this Warduke brings back many beautiful memories and is awesome figure. Congratulations on your channel.
I got a warduke figure from a garage sale 40 years ago. It was my all time favorite action figure. It was super rough, with zero weapons with him, but I loved him. Thanks for this amazing stroll down memory lane.
I got these just a few days ago, love them and I hope they keep going with other famous characters from D&D like a Soth, Blackstaff, Elminster, Drizzt, Raistlin, Vecna etc....
Had these for about 3 weeks already and they are pretty much my favorite neca figures i own besides predator. great review and hope you do some gi joe classified reviews soon 😂
I thought these were NEVER going to be released! I've been watching Warduke online, and they've been adding a week to the release date every single week for many months. It's been crazy!
Ooh, really liked the little editing changes like the going into camera perspective. Also glad you mentioned the insert background art, with Neca figures they make for some nice backdrops in photos. As you said at the start these look interesting from an action figure perspective, they're the pure embodiment of 80's fantasy designs, in fact at first glance when they were announced I didn't realize Warduke was a villain, and even now I find it weird to think of him that way. I can greatly admire them from a distance, but I'm not going to collect this line. With things being what they are in the collecting world today I don't do too much branching out with new lines, I did that in 2021 with the Classified series and even as great as they are, I had many occasions where I debated how much further I'd go into it. In 2022 I tried that a little more with a handful of figures from other properties and companies, just to get a feel for them and try out some new things, but I ended up selling most of them before the end of last year because I simply wasn't attached enough to those properties, and that's the same with these figures. Neca got me into collecting way back when, but these days I stick mainly to their horror releases. I grew up on Universal monster films and can't wait for all those offerings, and I just got their 40th Anniversary Creepshow figure which filled me with joy. It's just a simple but fun ghoul type character who feels just as at home with 80's horror characters as he does Scooby Doo, a perfect scary yet goofy figure full of character. Either way, I'm glad that Neca has continually evolved with time and has been constantly branching out with various properties and licenses, each appealing to different people in different ways, and I look forward to seeing where this D&D line goes.
I know Neca is continuing the 80's toy line, but I'm hoping they also make other well known D&D characters such as Lord Soth and Count Strahd von Zarovich.
Excellent topshelf review 👏 Warduke has always reminded me of boba fett/DeathStroke of the D&D universe!! Looking forward to getting both and other neca D&D figures !
Great video Had both LJN figures as a kid. Warduke was always my favourite. Was really hoping that they'd do the cartoon characters in this style Hank vs Warduke would look cool.
Totally gonna size these up with my mythic legions , Conan and that 1/12 red Sonya when she finally drops , if neca drops some actual monsters and dragons I'm so down for all of this line
I remember Grimsword was quite the peg warmer at my local 'Kiddie Kity' back in the day. I have Warduke and his steed Nightmare still. Hope NECA continues with other LJN figures, and do not be afraid to try some monsters. Either that or hope Hasbro gets to more. I have the Gelatinous Cube that just came out, and hope for more.
Ironically an original LJN Grimsword complete in good condition goes for a lot of money now. It’s one of the more sought after figures from the original line.
I preordered these a long time ago when the ship date was April 2022 at EE. Then ended up canceling them in the fall. After watching this and finally seeing them I have reordered them... they look great.
Ordered these 2 years ago.... still haven't heard anything or seen them in the wild. Glad to see some folks are getting them at least. I'll never pre-order anything from Neca again.
Warduke ohhh man had him in the early 80's w/ Nightmare 🐎 🐴 brings back memories. Looks fantastic on pre-order will display at the foot of PCS D&D Klauth / Red Dragon statue.....can't wait.
Yes Amok Time was one of the first online retailers to get these in. They sold out last week of the set of 2 for Warduke/Grimsword the. They were on back order for a late March release but recently Received more cases of them today so they are back in stock.
NECA makes damn amazing figures, I hope they continue to diversify the licenses they make. They used to have much greater variety but they've been so limited of late.
Warduke did pop up in one episode of the cartoon, so the size thing with Hank fits I think. I had Warduke back in the day, and the big orc and the barbarian giant, and the Paladin. They were great accoutrement to my He-Man set.

Still, I always loved the figure and when I saw NECA was making a new version, I had to jump on it. Been waiting a while, and still waiting, but it looks like it will be worth the wait.
I wanted these last year just as awesome fantasy figures or tokusatsu villains. Like you, I decided to leave it to fate (after having a page open for months). *But...* these look so much prettier than I thought they would! Articulation's fairly limited (and for no real reason with Warduke), but they look great as menacing bad guys. Still gonna leave it to fate, but Grimsword's got me very tempted.
I’m especially interested to see how this incredible looking Warduke stacks up next to my Alvis Underground custom (still one of my most expensive but very favourite purchases ever) Also loving how these figures seem to be based on the original figures card art (which IMO was far better than the modern illustrations, which are still pretty good)
These two figures are exactly what I wanted the cartoon characters to look like, it's also how I would hope future releases from other realms would look. I would be over the moon for a Sturm Brightblade or Raistlin figure in these stylings.
I have a growing appreciation for NECA figures. Despite limited articulation, they have incredible attention to detail, in the sculpt, the paint, and their inclusion of accessories. Warduke and The Defenders of the Earth Ming, with the AWESOME soft goods cape and incredible paint etc.most likely make them my top two favorite figures. (and I've paid DOUBLE for others that aren't nearly as good, just because I WANTED them...)
I’ve been waiting for Warduke for near a year! I am just excited to get him now that he’s most likely going to be released. Grimsword, I am not sold on yet. If I see him in stores and have the funds, I may get him. I want Warduke to fight He-Man! It’s been something I’ve wanted since I was a kid and had the LJN figure that could fight Joes rather than MOTU. The battle commences soon! Warduke vs. Masterverse He-Man!!!!

*"Hey, I like snakes"* hahaha You said it. Warduke is always going to be Warduke. But it would definitely suck to be stuck between a Warduke & a Grimsword.
These will be mine soon enough.... Hopefully.... C'mon EE, send me that shipment e-mail.... These figures look amazing, Fwooshcast showed it & so did this. I can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on these figures!
They look exactly like the originals back in the day. If I remember correctly, the snake head on Grimsword's shield use to shoot off? I may need to buy this line....
Does this War duke keep his leg attached? Both he and Strongheart had the issue of leg detachment after minimal use. But I got them for very cheap back in the 80s so not complaining..
Robo, All the joints looked easy to move. Did you have to hot water bath these or has NECA gotten these right? Honestly I have been waiting for these and originally ordered just Warduke but later added Grimsword and after this video i'm glad I did! With the recent price in figures these have become a VERY good value for the money.
Ok, OK, Robo. I don't know anything nor have any connection to the DnD franchise nor the cartoons but you got me with your awe--some-saw-some review. I just Po'ed both. I'd rather give my $38 to support NECA with these figures and its gazillion accessories and unique toy sculpt than give HASBRO $34 for their re-painted gamerverse spiderman and some droopy webbing.
Snake girdle is all the rage in this years fashion to keep all of your extra bits hidden to give you the evil knight silhouette that will turn the heads of all the adventurers.
Do you not have any MOTU Classics or Masterverse to compare them too? Now I want to see Grimsword vs Kite 🪁 Man! Hell yeah! And yeah, THREE different D&D toy lines dropping for the new movie! Who knew we could ever be so blessed with this property? 🤷♂️🏹
Ok, just got mine, and I have a question. How do you warm it up? I ask because knowing and feeling the more brittle nature of this plastic, and the coloring that is more inclined to come off, I have concerns. For added context, my Warduke has just arrived, but nothing fits into anything, and I am concerned I'll break something.
Okay, even though I fine tooth combed the intro about 25 times I STILL missed the fact I typed a 2 instead of a 3 for the price. I was too focused on the complicated and not on the simple. The MSRP is $34.99.
Cool use of adding titles in between the packages. I thought that was slick
I was gonna use a screenshot and show Target so they can price match.

Does anyone know if these guys are internet only or whether they will be sold at Target/Walmart? Thanks!
Ugh, I can't wait for my Warduke to arrive. Hurry up BBTS!!
They look awesome! But might as well be statues. If they had more articulation they’d be amazing
I think I now need a Warduke. Damn u Robbo
Hey, I don't make the toys awesome, that's on NECA. I just play with them.
@@TheFwoosh I do wonder how they may look going up against super7 king Conan
I hope they remake that golden dragon that came with the original line
Warduke is amazing
Fwoosh have you tried warduke on witcher horse ?
