Keep an eye on DRTuned. They have a stage 1 “OEM+” tune right now for most skyactiv-g turbo engines, and are currently probing the limits of this engine to release their stage 2 tune.
I got this on my Turbo 3 a couple days ago. It's noticeably makes a difference, plus you can add e85 on Map 2 to make it a little faster. This is definitely needed on the cars to make them more responsive.
I have been waiting to see this. Wires looked clean and I heard the blue-tooth model is the way to go for ease of use. I would love to be to get one as well. I hope you like it. Love the Mazda content.
I had ran a JB4 on mine and I liked it. I’m now running a actual ecu flash from DRTuning. It was very simple and when I had to get my Mazda 3 turbo service from the dealer they had to do some entertainment software update and they didn’t see my tune on the car at all. Also, you can flash the car back to factory tune whenever you want to. I can tell you the difference between the two. The flash feels like the car is a lot more alive mostly because the ecu isn’t trying to limit the amount of torque that the JB4 is trying to get. That’s really the main difference.
Daniel at DRTuned told me that MazdaEdit doesn’t currently support the CX-50, therefore he cannot tune my car at this time. Big bummer, but at least I’m forced to let the product mature a bit more and find out how these engines hold up in the long run after a tune. I just wish this tune gave the software ability to remove the limiter. The car caps at 133mph. Which is plenty for most, but that engine is capable of far more. I'm not saying to push it to its limits, but having the limiter removed can really give its full potential. It's a thrill to drive one though even bone stock
